Expected a battle of the bands movie with people fighting each other through music, instead each land is lucky if they get one complete song and most of the runtime is terrible meme jokes. I don't even think rock gets a complete song.
>muh cultural appropriation
Why do so many people pretend that Jazz/funk/rap have no European influences, heck funk even takes elements from pop music.
Jews created the sound of rap, particularly NY rap just as much as black Bronx residents. Certainly more than latins or black people outside of the Bronx.
Elijah Morales
at least visuals look nice
Logan Lee
I'm so glad this movie was actually WAAAAY worse than Onward. Fuck Trolls movies and their generic cutesy shit.
Jason Fisher
Watched it yesterday, it was okay. Not as good as the first movie tho.
I dunno man, the movie was fun albiet shallow. The movie's visuals are some of the nicest I've seen in a while for a cartoon. The felt world looked so fucking real.
James Richardson
This, I was hoping for a battle of the bands as well. The trailer got my hopes up for that. It's not a terrible movie and the art direction was top-notch, but I can't say I was not disappointed.
Poppy was also very obnoxious through the film, and her boyfriend Juston Timberlake always comes across as the reasonable one.
Andrew Gutierrez
I didn't expect much since rock was made the evil genre. Probably written by a bunch of 50-60 year olds that grew up in the 70's that are out of touch with the modern times.
Easton Nguyen
The only thing I'm disappointed about is that Queen Barb supposedly is the queen of rock but doesn't sound like Julie Christmas.
Jace Sullivan
We are talking about a trolls movie right
Aiden Watson
Dilate, Travis
Angel Torres
What would grindcore trolls look like?
Dylan Smith
So why did they overplay the music side of things in the trailer given films try to usually hide they're musicals?
Bentley Cox
>films try to usually hide they're musicals? It's about them doing a world tour with the antagonist being rock
Justin Davis
user why where you expecting Dreamworks cash cow product to be good? They literally only do these for easy money to fund better films
Joseph Stewart
>a childrens' movie based on a nostalgic toy line from the 80s why are you surprised that it's low-effort garbage?
Jace Nelson
Just how bad is this movie anons? Someone wants to go see it with me and I want to know if I should bring cyanide pills or not
Gavin Reyes
Who's watching for Justin Timberlake!
Jose Nguyen
Sooo, Trolls reproduce by budding? Or is it a Mr Seahorse thing?
Michael Jackson
Is it worse than Shark Tale ? I liked that film, but it's usually seen as Dreamworks's worst for reasons that elude me
Ayden Kelly
There's no excuse for having bad CGI in 2020
Adam Long
Travis Mcelroy is a convicted sex offender.
Noah Parker
I mean, she's technically Anna Kendrick, so it's not too unusual.
Brayden Stewart
When do they get to the better films?
Robert Powell
What, really?
Easton Howard
This. Rise of the Guardians or maybe Dragon 2 was their last geniunely kino film imo,
Benjamin Brooks
Just Justin and Best Boy Griffin
Juan Stewart
Watch the Netflix show for that she looks cuter and has multiple costume changes.
Jonathan Bennett
I think what people have the most trouble accepting is that in reality, African culture has little to no real positive influence on music in the first place.
Seriously. Name an instrument that a black person invented.
Henry Reed
If by better films, you mean stuff like Panda 2 and 3, then no thanks.
Juan Sanders
I actually liked it more than the first one. The first one was boring, generic and really childish. While this one is more silly, stupid and random (and I actually appreciate that) it's more unique than the first one, the animation is really good and creative, I actually enjoyed the third act and the best thing is that is a really short movie (around 70 min) I'm not saying it's good but it's an improvement over the original. Well, DreamWorks did it again! They made another sequel that is better than the original (even tho this is the weakest sequel they ever produced)
Bentley Gonzalez
Anyone have the song list? The only reason I’m here is because I heard Daft Punk in the ad.
Josiah Thomas
At least DreamWorks makes better sequels than Disney
Parker Perez
Wanna elaborate there user?
Hunter Long
When did they even make a better sequel to the original ? Panda 2 was bad, Madagascar 2 was sorta ok, and while Shrek 2 and Dragon 2 were great, they were still missing the charm of the first one
Ayden Bailey
what bad taste
Dominic Sanders
I just rewatched Panda 2 on Netflix, and it's pretty bad. None of the charm or fun banter of the first one, Shifu gets completely sidelined, none of the new characters are memorable, other than Shen, the action is too repetitive, the Furious 5 are still one dimensional and have no chemistry with each other, etc. I also felt it was a mistake to reveal Po's backstory, which was just a ripoff of Goku's backstory btw
Xavier Lopez
Panda 2 is bad??? I'm sorry buddy but you are probably the only one who thinks that, because most people think it's one of the best animated sequels ever created alongside Toy Story 2 and Shrek 2
Xavier Williams
Also Shrek 2 is better than Shrek 1, there's no discussion there.
Gabriel Gray
where'd you watch it? I knew it was gonna be trash but it's bright colors and music so I'll take it over rewatching youtube shit again
Austin James
sause?
Ryder Sanders
They're on par, but i enjoy 1 more. It's just a more timeless film imo.
Luke Bailey
Not really, Panda 2 wasn't as well received as the first one. Neither 2 and 3 were stories that needed to be told. 1 already works well as a self contained story. They were only made because Dreamworks's obsession of making franchises out of everything
Luke Cooper
RotG and Croods were their last good ones. Croods may of been slightly weak story wise but the damn art and the animals were so freaking creative. Also Eep is a cutie.
Wyatt Cook
This. All of their future non sequel films feel more like Netflix pilots than actual movies. They just feel like something created to be expanded on. Say what you want about Bee Movie or Shark Tale, but at least those films end without any sort of cliffhanger or sequel hook
Nicholas Allen
Growing up is when you realize that Shark Tale was a kino film and Madagascar was Dreamworks's first CGI misstep. At least, that's how i see it now
