This episode shows everything that is wrong with SU.
Basically the plot and character motivations are indecipherable.
So Steven for some reason is depressed. His powers freak out and this would be a important and interesting development. Only after his monster transformation instead of having the thread around them for some episodes or trying to find a solution the "solution" turns out to give the monster a hug
>Well, I loved the episode. Why? The solution was stupid and made no sense on any level.
It did have potential however the solution like always ruins it.
Its systemic in SU.
Jeremiah James
How brave and stunning of you to come out as a giant faggot. Respect
Connor Evans
Thanks user

>So Steven for some reason is depressed. We spent an entire season going into a good amount of demonstration and justification for that depression. And that demonstration and justification leads naturally to the solution. You are talking as if you watched the episode in isolation.
Ian Fisher
>to you
Christian Gutierrez
The solution was to calm Steven down so he would start his therapy.
Jacob Carter
Why did you keep watching it even it you know you'll get dissapointed anyway? I didn't even spend my time with the finale because I knew it'll be utter horseshit.
Christian Evans
No I get he is depressed because he is rejected and Connie is moving away from him and rejected his proposal.
I get that. Only after that everything makes less sense especially in context.
>You are talking as if you watched the episode in isolation I must ask did you watch every episode when it did come out? Because this way you can forget what was in the previous one. I binge watched (is it binge watching if the episodes are 10 minutes?) from 10 to today.
For example Steven pushes people away all this time, the CG want to be with him yet he runs away etc.
And the solution was to hug him? He also hes a freak out after the Diamonds and his behavior stops making human sense.
Also excluding that the premise of hugs solve problems is retarded and stupid. This just shows exactly what is wrong with SU.

But user, they need those YouTube V I E W A

>Why did you keep watching Good question.
There are multiple reasons. one of them is that I'm a obligatory complecionist so that once I start watching a show I almost never drop it.
Also I get some fun out of pointing out the contradictions and nonsense or how bad it gets.
There are other reasons however this is the main thing.
Ethan Sanders
Seriously? We're doing this again?

Most of us have already got the ending spoilers beforehand and didn't even bother to watch the ending. There wasn't even a proper discussion.
Kevin Lewis
>someone edited the monster into a dick >can't unsee it >sugar probably perverted enough for it to be so
Joseph Perez
>No I get he is depressed because he is rejected and Connie is moving away from him and rejected his proposal. Well no that was just the straw that broke the camel's back. It was about isolation and lack of purpose, he felt alone and beyond understanding, he could not turn to anyone for help. He thought escaping into Stevonnie would make him feel like he is no longer isolated with his trauma and the rejection hammered the point that this would never be the case. >And the solution was to hug him? It's not just a hug it's the reason behind the hug, that they show patience and solidarity and understanding even when Steven is at his absolute worst because that's what Steven did for all of them.
Samuel Price
What did you think about it?
Camden Adams
>Not Not being unable to unsee the gigantic gut of that thing

Jordan Perez
>It's not just a hug it's the reason behind the hug, that they show patience and solidarity and understanding even when Steven is at his absolute worst because that's what Steven did for all of them. Yet previously he magically auto rejected all attempts at communication.
Elijah Rogers
How do you watch a show for 6 seasons and still not understand what it is about.
Jeremiah Fisher
Post the edit.
Robert Carter
You misunderstand. I understand whats its all about and this is why its bad. Also this episode heights all the bad things about the show.
Hudson Ward
OP's probably in the hate bandwagon
Angel Watson
I'm surprised you stayed watching this long then.
Parker Roberts
If you like to call it this way. I'm more in the "this is boring" and "this is stupid" camp.
Jace Sanders

>Steven is sad because of PTSD, he doesn't know what do with his life, and he thinks his friends won't love him if they find out what he's done >he gets therapy for PTSD, he goes travelling to find a meaning for himself, and his friends hug him to show they still love him How does a grown man not understand these incredibly basic themes?
Sebastian Howard
Whole trauma arch was dumb, Steven could’ve left the nest just reflecting his life at beach city.
He saw the universe but not the whole world yet. Melancholy instead of this action would’ve fit better imo.
The movie was better ending desu.
Carter Adams
easy, there are no grown men on Yas Forums. just manchildren and literal children.
Nathan Myers
>but not the whole world yet The more you think about it the less sense it makes.
>Oh no you guyz I'm moving away >its not like we have phones and instant communication >Or these warp pads that give instant transport to all places in the world >Or that I have a lion that can magically teleport me to you so we can hang out >Its so super dramatic that I move away, its not like I can portal any second back to your home! SERIOUSLY!
>>Steven is sad because of PTSD, in cartoon world hugging people cures PTSD.
Also this is the worse execution of PTSD in the history of Hollywood. Yes even worse then this youtube.com/watch?v=bflYjF90t7c
Gavin Peterson
It didn't cure his PTSD. Also, you don't seem to understand what PTSD is.
Oliver Moore
>Also, you don't seem to understand what PTSD is. And you do?
Getting into physical contact with someone who has automatic reactions and reject physical contact. What can possibly go wrong?
Worst depiction of PTSD out there.
Jace Lee
Cool blog post, loser.
Jordan Harris
Thanks basement autist.
Charles Bennett
That’s why I feel it’s a long road trip, he going to find a second home near Connie with a job as construction worker or something similar.
Gabriel Morales
wtf not that edit, the one where his face is gone and his pec muscles look like balls with his neck and head being a dick.
Lucas Ross
Thanks. Only its literally nothing only a penis where its supposed to be. I was expecting to see a revelation that makes me never look at a picture the same pic related.
That's the one. Like a hidden design or something.
Lincoln Martinez
To be fair, he had turned into a giant monster by that point. They had no choice but to physically contact him to stop him tearing apart Beach City.
Chase White
I legit do wonder what Sucrose meant by this if it was deliberate. >Steven becomes aggressive/destructive/murderous >Steven shifts into a more masculine version of himself - buff, sharper jaw, stubble, jojo hair
>Steven feels like a monster >Steven shifts into a phallic kaiju
Is it truly, unironically a "masculinity = bad" metaphor? And if so, how come the way to calm the 'monster' is by kissing the "tip" and smothering it with love until it grows small again?
so what she is saying, is that when men are angry, you just gotta suck em off?
William White
So? That's not any different from any of the other characters initially rejecting Steven's help, but he didn't give up on them. And now they showed they wouldn't give up on him either.
Anthony Allen
Or a good ol' handy, at least.
Leo Foster
Steven pretty much turned into Super Buu. He would have absorbed Yellow and Blue Diamond and beaten the Gems senseless like Buu did with Gohan
>For example Steven pushes people away all this time, the CG want to be with him yet he runs away etc. He wasn’t it in the right mindset. I don’t get why this hard for people to get. Some of you have never had a public mental breakdown and it shows.
Dominic Murphy
But it wasn't public it was between close friends and family
Aaron Evans
>Didn’t even get killed or redeemed >Never appears in the show ever again Name a character with most wasted potential
How are people STILL not understanding why Steven is depressed/suffering etc? There's an episode dedicated to explaining it right at the screen? >it doesn't make sense No, it makes sense, it just isn't logical because Steven is suffering from an emotional/mental issue. I genuinely think these threads are being made by people who don't watch the show but just skimmed episode descriptions looking for ways to hate it. If you don't like it fi e but this constant "But why is he sad??" Is just retarded
It just seems like a lot of people don’t understand emotions.
Mason Kelly
Peedee. Idk why but it felt like he was supposed to be some 3rd wheel in a relationship with connie and steven given that he was literally the only other kid around their age
Leo Cook
no but i did pay attention enough to know the plot of that episode was to save Steven and the character motivations was save Steven
Logan Russell
>actively fucked up the plot >obsidian ?
Nolan Stewart
>too stupid to understand the finale of a fucking children's show That's just pathetic
Colton Nelson
>That scene where all the diamonds and spinel were crying because they blame themselves for steven becoming a monster. I can understand blue and spinel crying their eyes out, even yellow to an extent but not white diamond. They really could go overboard with tears sometimes.
