Sid grows up to become a garbage man

>Sid grows up to become a garbage man
Is picking up other people’s trash exactly what he deserves?

im sure he doesnt mind it
plus the pay is decent

Garbage men get paid really well and he loves doing his work.
All he did was break toys so good on him.

Garbage men get paid pretty well, so I doubt he’s complaining.

He seems happy. Also garbage men can make decent wages.

This

I like to think he rescues abandoned toys from the garbage. (:

And then tapes a rocket to them.

there is a category of jobs that are considered dangerous for peoples longterm health like lab workers and xray technicians, those people gets great pensions because of it
garbage men are included

Garbage men make great money

If you're desensitized to the grime to the point where you can deal with it with a smile on your face, I can't imagine being a garbage man would be that bad of a deal.

It's not like Sid was even a bad person, young boys just like breaking shit.

>Government job
>good benefits
>has fun doing it
dude hit the jackpot

It's honest, stable work that pays well and comes with fantastic benefits. Dude is doing great while Andy is probably being buried by student loans.

Yeah, even his second foray into villainy came from a place of legit concern for others.

I figure he never denied the extra worlds he walked into, but eventually decided he was happy in the normal one, small though it may be. And with that realization, came self-realization, and thus happiness with self. Everything was easy once he was happy with himself, even if it took a hell of a childhood to get there.

>stealing and destroying his sister's property to alleviate his own mild frustration, then lying about it

Yeah nah

Are you aware that garbage men get good pay?

The weird thing about Sid is that he got WAY more than he ever deserved. He was a possibly abused kid in a broken household that was acting out in a way that he could only have known as harmless. The kid was probably traumatized by what happened and it's a fucking miracle he came out ok.

Be more like adult Sid, I guess.

He was fucking 11

It's already been covered but yeah, garbage man is really just a profession liberal arts students view as a bad end because they're unfamiliar with the concept of making a living without college debt. They get paid pretty well and have a good union.

Why the fuck would Mike care about the moral ethics of what Sid was doing here? Mike would be wondering why the fuck he was even there if anything.

Garbage collectors make like $37,000 a year just to drive around and throw bags in a truck, that's some pretty good shit.

Everybody in this thread knows that Sid ending in a blue collar job was meant to be seen as a bad ending.

>abused
when was that ever implied?

It just goes to show how much the lefty elitists of the entertainment industry despise the actual working class.

I think the writers meant for him to look like shit but the animators understood that Sid becoming a garbage man wasn't that terrible, especially for him. look at how happy he is

Drunk dad (soda theorists suck my cock, very obviously meant to be beer cans), dismissive caregivers, overall bad parenting if they let him develop into what he was as a kid. Depending on your definition (mine included) an abusive household doesn't need to be physical or even mental, some parents just don't care and it hurts kids more than you can imagine

Especially considering garbageman is one of the few jobs that are still running during the corona chaos(at least in my country), he lucked out

Sid was just edgy. His sister's room was completely normal and his mom makes him poptarts.

Which was probably the first and last thing he ate that day. The kid had been using a myriad of tools dangerous enough to burn the house down for a serious amount of time unknown and unsupervised. Considering the noise he would be making his parents would have to be willingly ignoring him

There's nothing wrong with being a garbage man, its essential work for society and pays well

No, he's shown as happy in his small cameo.

That's all it was meant to be, a blink and you'll miss it cameo of a character from the original movie.

Still better than retail

>well-paying Mafia job that you can't laid off even during Kung Flu Season because trash is a breeding ground for disease

>$37,000
THAT'S supposed to be good money? that's literal lower class poorfag tier. you guys must be retarded if you think that's ideal.

lol that doesn't sound right, unless you mean the literal neanderthals that ride on the back and not the slightly higher evolved guy driving. The driver has a commercial license and probably pulls 60-70k range.

We laugh at Garbage Men, but they do the shit no one else wants too. They deserve some respect.

>Sid
Long term career
Pension
401k
Good salary and benefits
Happy

>Andy
Wasting his money and life on college
Will be in debt for years
No guarantee of employment
Obsessed with childhood toys

>but they do the shit no one else wants too.
yeah like you and being an omega male

More than the animator got

>bully ends up in a shitty job
This only happens in stories to make """good""" people feel good about themselves. In reality not so much.

Sid did nothing wrong. He was just playing with lumps of plastic and would reassemble them into cool shit. That little queer Andy was playing with Porcelain dolls. No wonder his dad ran off.

That's normal behavior for an older brother

I notice it seems to be a really common thing with people in the cartoon industry. "Bullies" are always mindless punks or jocks and the poor creative main character is just a misunderstood good boy waiting for their time to shine when the world realizes how special they are. It's not all because they were a little weirdo.

being a trash man isn't a bad job. It's pretty dumb when people treat manual labor workers like they're lesser than someone who works in an office or went to college since without the average joe garbage man who else would throw out the trash?

Wait what? So he knows your childhood toys were sentient beings AND monsters really do come out your closet, and he still looks like he's a happy and fairly well adjusted garbage man later? Goddamn.

Yeah, my old school bullies all have substantially better jobs than me because they come from well connected families and they have personalities that help them really get going in the world of business, while despite being good academically, I'm a fuck up with practically everything else.

I always do find it rather funny when people look down on dustbin men. They likely are earning more than the average office worker and they actually perform a useful societal duty.

>young boys just like breaking shit.
He was breaking OTHER people's shit. Specifically because he was running out of his own shit to break.
That's Grade A psychopathy.

Not to mention they know more stuff about you from your trash than you've probably told your loved ones.

At least he is happy with that

Why are they included, early hours and long days?

You're handling and travelling along with other people's undisclosed waste regularly.

Sure you're travelling with it but it's separated from where you sit

I'm sure you're American

It can be a surprisingly high paying job, and your muscles get jacked.

He makes sure they’re destroyed beyond recognition because he remembers that they’re evil and will seek revenge otherwise.

He was mildly neglected and both the mom and dad were there so that’s not a “broken home”
He wasn’t abused or a bad kid, he was just a stinky poor kid.

>dad having a beer or two is abusive
Jesus, WASPs need to stop being faaaaags.

Echoing point made by On the other hand, please post more if there is any.

If my life got rearranged and I had to load up my car with garbage and drive it to the dump once a week I’d be annoyed the first few months but I’d adjust pretty well after that.
On the list of “dirty jobs” it’s not that bad.
Having to remove or store my own shit though? That would be nigh intolerable.

Kids movies aren't exactly known for their subtle. Dad sleeping with beer cans is pretty much code for "this guy's an alcoholic "

Dads just drink beer until they sleep- it’s funny because it’s relatable.
