X and Heroes were the point when Amy started to get flanderized. It wasn't until the Boom cartoon and Lost World where she stopped being such a crazy tsundere fangirl and became a more rounded character imo

Not just Amy, Sonic X is kind of the start of some characters being flanderized like Knuckles having anger issue and Rouge being a straight up hooker. Eggman is probably the only character who is great

I actually started watching Sonic X for the first time a few days ago and I barely understand what the fuck is going on. I'm not a deep Sonic fan or anything, my only knowledge about this show prior to checking it out came from memes and that one shitty Flash animation 5 years ago where they all ate dinner based on their species or something

And I'm like 6 or 7 episodes in and the overdramatic speedy race guy who seemed to be established in the first episode as Sonic's new rival who'll stop at nothing to catch him hasn't even shown up yet. He poofed out of existence without a single word

The only interesting thing Chris ever did was sperg out and kidnap Sonic right in front of everyone. It was something I could see an actual child doing, and he grew a lot as a character from it. But he remained boring and unnecessary throughout the rest of the show.

Not only did they have self aware writers, it was animated by the damn French.

Nice to see best girl being appreciated. No joke, she is my favorite Sonic character, if only because she's fun and has some interesting stuff going on in the background that's never elaborated on. How did a jewel thief become a government spy? Why does she own a nightclub?

Also, it's a damn shame we'll never see Topaz again. Their relationship was great, and Rouge leaving was genuinely heartbreaking.

The big question here is if Eggman and Rick would get along
