She isn't a generic NPC girl.
That's basically it.
She has unique interests, hobbies, knowledge, and experiences. She's confident and capable. She's honest, truthful, sincere, genuine to a fault. She's open-minded, likes trying new things, and tries to see things from different perspectives. She never pays attention to social hierarchies, and gives everyone a fair chance, treats everyone (even animals) like people. She's more of a "person" than most of the people you interact with IRL, who just go through their scripted motions every day.
There is actually something there, something to choose over anyone else, because "anyone else" is basically the only alternative: there's Pippi Longstocking, and then there's "girls". It doesn't really matter which girl you like (other than hair color or body type) if you just like "girls", because girls are always just girls and they basically go out of their way to be clones of each other and play the safe "average". After enough experiences of the same cloned safe interests and opinions and stories you just start looking for anything that stands out, anything other than "average" that might give you a reason to prefer them over others. Pippi Longstocking is that, minus all the usual trappings IRL like being a lesbian, or trans, or having a mountain of mental issues, or a history of abuse, etc. etc.

Pippi is often depicted with normal proportions, wether its the lanky cartoon teen or book cover stubby child, but I'd like to see some muscle tone on her. Nothing stupid. No bodybuilding and certainly no hyper.

She is a servant of God. She says that her mothers in Heaven several times in the show and movie. Normally you'd assume that this was what her father told her. But she's obviously super-natural and has divine knowledge bestowed upon her along with her strength. She knows her mother is in Heaven and is never sad because she is in the divine presence of God constantly. She has divine premonition which is why she goes into every strange encounter in the series with confidence and wisdom. She is a prophet sent only to perfect manners and guide her small village to kindness, compassion, and togetherness regardless of social hierarchy. When she grows up, she will be guiding thousands more at a grand scale. The small village is just practice for the future Prophet of God. The first female worthy of the title in her universe.

I never liked her. She has a generic boring design even for a Loli and her show never interested me. And from I've seen of it it still wouldn't to this day.
I'm also not a fan of characters who are extremely strong and unbeatable and never need to face any sort of challenge because that is nothing but a giant fucking BORE. She seems like such a generic Mary Sue I can only assume people like her not because of her cartoon or anything, but just simple childhood crushes still being active in their hearts.
I also barely know anything about her and I don't wish to actually learn anything because nothing I learn or hear of her will change my opinion that she is just a massive pile of shit.

I don't love her. I don't think anyone can love a person they have never met. I like her alright, and would gladly smoke one with her. She seems a decent sort and as the television show stated she is the kind of person you want to know and be around. Seems accurate enough.
I do wonder how much of the Pippiposting is ironic in any case. Does most of Yas Forums really just want to have sex with her? Or is it for a laugh? Pippi strikes me as the type of girl to think sex as something hilarious. I doubt she could get her pants all the way off before falling to the floor in hysterics at the idea of a boy putting his thing in her. But that's just my take.

Astrid is much different. Moomins was based on the creator's father abandoning his family to go off on adventures and it's shown in realistic detail. He doesn't change his ways and drags his family along.

Compare that to Disney and PL Travers over Mary Poppins which came off more like a lover's quarrel
