First half was really good, decent coming of age story and cool characters
Second half kind of collapses on itself, the romance is awkward, the racing opponents are less interesting and it feels like nobody really believes in that whole "saving the universe" shtick. Most of the personal journeys are kind of over and nobody has any emotional stakes to the race anymore.
I feel like it shouldn't have been a story about saving the world, and just a story about racers, but I guess it's not a kid cartoon without big bad aliens.

Now that theme song is going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

felt like a fever dream

I really liked the Oban cycle. The way it was structured meant that you never knew the outcome of the race because the losers weren't immediately eliminated. There was a lot more tension because of this. Also, Molly never really cared about saving the world until the end. She was always in it to use the wish to bring Maya back to life, and after she learned she couldn't she stopped caring.

Woops, meant for

Which one?

WHERE IS MY BLU RAY SAVIN

It's been like 2 years and still nothing. It doesn't take that long to make blurays does it?

Always found this show hard to get into.
I'd find it more compelling if it didn't have that generic-looking anime knockoff art style. The premise is cool but man the characters look bizarrely soulless.

i actually met the guy who voiced Canaletto in the english dub at a convention last year.

>NEVER SAY NEVER!!!

twitter.com/EiffelSavin/status/1245007298155741186

Slow and steady wins the race.

FUCK the shitty american opening. If you can claim your shitty generic "rock" is somehow superior to Yoko Kanno, who Savin SPECIFICALLY ASKED TO DO A SONG, they you are a simp.

>there are more dubs than just 3
Well, colour me surprised.

When is the fucking Bluray coming out

I like both, the US song is worse, but fits the tone of the show better

Love it. And good to see the bluray is still coming along!

Savain really lucked out by having Jetix Europe fund his show, which ensured it would get international guaranteed airing.

...

If the show was nothing but mindless action, then
>fits the tone of the show better
would be an accurate statement. And Yoko Kanno can write an all-action song, Cowboy Bebop exists to prove it.

The ending was also kino.

Different user, but yeah this ED is really nice.

>still have the volume 1 OST from when it was already x-pensive to get a copy
Speculation time! Do you think it will be reissued with MORE VOLUME this time? It is definitely possible it was mixed and mastered to be quiet, and they will have to just boost the volume because stereo files is all they have saved.

I just like the music in general.

At least Oban had one episode where the alien was scary not because it was big and bad, but only because it was creepily, unfathomably inhuman.
It's not on the same level of alien as e.g. the necrosphere from The Invincible or Ark megaforms from Space Mowgli, but for an Y7 cartoon it was extremely unusual.

This show reminds me of the old DiC shows from the 80s that relied a lot of music and mood. Always felt very out of place on Jetix.

it has that pure 2000's charm...you no longer find good stuff like that anymore.

Always neat to see the big reveals make sense of what happens in the beginning. Just like in the 2003 anime adaptation of FMA. FIGHT ME.

Maybe that is why the song was changed for the US of A.

As someone who lived through the early 2000........ can somebody explain what "early 2000 charm" means? I mean, I can guess all day long, but you can also tell me what YOU think.

Just imagine the smell.

Great show, did the PTSD trauma trope way better than SU. Amazing alien designs and style. Epilogue kinda shits the bed a bit, but the ending is nice.

Soul.

I can already imagine the smell of burning flesh.

What was wrong with the epilogue? It was bitter sweet.

So, Outlaw Star and Made in Abyss have no soul due to being too early and too late?

Blurry low video resolution, every cartoon aping on anime, gay jokes, rave idm music.

I don't know what you are talking about user.

Maybe it's just me personally but I felt the final two episodes where rushed. The ending itself is fine, it's just the track to it was clumsy.

The techno music with samples is just an extension of the late 90s. 90s did not truly end, 2000s is just a 90s DLC with the "Internet is mainstream and YouTube exists" bonus.

CURSE YOU JON BLOW NOW I SEE IT ALL THE TIME

Bored me. I get that everyone's an alien but the designs just looked like mostly lazy human designs. Waretetta was great.

VERY good soundtrack

This is the original trailer from 2001. I was obsessed with this when it came out (yes I'm old, shut up).

Spirit's design was great

Great show very exciting.
The last episode kind of ruined it. Such a cop out.

unironically kill yourself

>cop out
???

I am older, little kid.

They didn't want to the main character to do the heroic sacrifice so they let the secondary character no one liked to do it instead

It wasn't really out of character for Jordan to do that though.

Still made me mad.

Never read The Little Mermaid then.

One of my all-time favorite series.

I'm actually fine with both. Never Say Never fits the racing aspect better, but Chance to Shine encompasses other aspects of the show as well. Overall, I'd probably rate Chance to Shine over Never Say Never, since I consider it a better song overall.

...also I happen to love the beat drop at 0:55.

>your 10 year old overused pop chords are inferior to my 10,000 year old overused pop chords

Great show. Didn't think it would be, but it surprised me.

Molly got a good tum
Don Wei is #1 dad
Jordan literally cucked by God
Agent Aikka is boring, but I like his bug

It probably gave me the idea that my dream video game would be a fully fleshed out space racer RPG thing.
