The animation takes longer than the voice acting. Olaf's likely much easier to animate

This, with Olaf you don't have to simulate clothing, hair and other bullshit the human characters need. WADS relies a ton on simulators to do the bulk of the work.

yeah, I was under the impression that Disney animation came out of a supercomputer under a mountain and produced 10 seconds every 2 weeks or something, but I guess it can be produced fairly quickly at home? kind of ruins the magic

They do, is just that this short in particular seems rather easy to animate and render. Look out how long it took them to animate the castle sequence in Let it go, or the Dark Sea scene in F2.

That’s true for complex scenes like Elsa creating an ice bridge with her 400 million hairs. This is a lump of play-doh standing on a blank background.

So, Olaf sometimes goes with Elsa to the Enchanted forest and brings some of the snowgies with him?
That seems right, it was rather strange that he was left with Anna, given he's Elsa's spawn.

I don't know how long Anna could last with just Kristoff and Sven.

The whole short should be framed as a letter from Elsa to Anna, telling her how wonderful her life at the forest is while we are shown all the problems she's having adapting to her new life.

The short after that should the same but a letter from Anna to Elsa.

I'm sure every Disney employee is strip-searched on their way out of the building to make sure their precious files aren't leaked. It's impossible.
