Writers are traditionally very bad at creating relationships, as ironic as it is.

Most adult cartoons are cynical as most child aimed cartoons are more positive

This is the one thing I didn't find funny at all in the entire pilot.

A lot of writers mistakenly believe that bad friendships=funny.same goes for marriage

It's hard having a genuine relationship later in your life, a lot of bitterness goes along the way for no good reasons

All seriousness though, Zach seems to have maintained actual friendships into adulthood with a group of colleagues in his field, through OneyPlays and SpeepyCast and projects like this. I'm guessing some writers haven't.

A lot of them have a hard time differentiating between the story they want to tell and the life they live, so they often end up breaking one in favor of the other. I've known a lot of writers and yeah, they aren't good at anything long term unless it's a project.

Glep seems to do the cleaning, given the sweeping he was doing right at the end. Other than that, he seems to just nap and watch YouTube videos so far. It's unclear what Alan's role was, given he spent the whole episode looking for his precious piece of cheese, but he may be in charge of inventory at the office.

I feel like each of the show's characters give off a different kind of humor so that there's always something that will make you crack a smile no matter how strange your own humor is. For me, I loved every second of Alan on screen.
