Why did they turn Violet into a Mary sue? It's way too obvious to ignore. I counted a total of 6 mary sue on the show already and probably some more I forgot. There better be a hidden writer's fetish agenda to justify this.
Disney is for girls. If you're male they have nothing for you.
Also Disney buys male properties like Marvel and Star Wars strictly to feminize them. Disney is shit. Stop supporting Disney.
Asher Richardson
Are you part of the retards that thought Rey's staff was supposed to be a crypto-black cock ?
Henry Bennett
No, and I think he's overly attributing malicious intent to just a couple of things we can parse out through common sense. >didney goes out of its way to hire a shtitload of twitter-browsing artists and other assorted self-centered bimbos >they get to head these projects >insert females out the ass >being alternating between undercurrents of on insecurity and wanting to virtue signal and craft self-styled propaganda >they write all these STRONG FEMALE PROTAGANISTS that are rarely shown to be in the wrong since that would go against their own ego and aims Just a theory mind you but we could also be full-on schizoid emotional posting since I'm trying to quit cigarettes and am also currently riding a bout of insomnia
John Sullivan
Imagine being too afraid to just start a thread, must include bait.
Jason Gray
So what is she? A raven, crow, or magpie?
Jack Reed
She literally has a patch for failure
Benjamin Rodriguez
>I counted a total of 6 mary sue on the show And they are? Obviously one is Wendy but if you include Della I'm laughing Sabrewing, like how the Ducks are ducks her last name is her species
Dominic White
*Webby of course
Hudson Clark
do you even know what Mary Sue means nigga
Ryan Jones
Ugly artstyle for a shit memeshow.
Grayson Williams
Is she still a Mary Sue if she failed 3 times off-screen?
Oliver Barnes
I don't think so
Leo Myers
What's with mutts and BBC?
Brandon Bailey
I gave up of Ducktales 2017 as soon they stunt cast magica for a Dr. Who reference with Angones trying to bullshit people that they couldn't make an italian accent work. That right there represents everything wrong with Ducktales.
Elijah Gomez
based shizofag
Nathaniel Sullivan
>she failed one time that means she's not a mary sue! weak argument
Connor Kelly
3 times, actually
Carter Gutierrez
I do think they should have done a flashback of her failing just to hit the point home, so idiots wouldn’t throw a shitfit
Josiah Thompson
Isn't the point of a Mary Sue is that no one is better than them? How can there be more than one?
Not ever girl appearing on the TV for more than five seconds and not baking cookies is a mary sue.
Logan Ramirez
I know most people don't actually know what a Mary Sue is defined as but being good at everything and never failing are pretty key.
Jordan Cox
I though she was an indoor nerd, not an outside nerd.
Logan Smith
If you don’t like the Tumblr diversity for no reason shows then stop watching them and stop posting about them. The people endlessly complaining but still giving it publicity are more annoying that the pea-brains who actually like gay brown ppl for diversity cartoon show.
Oliver Thompson
>Why did they turn Violet into a Mary sue? Must have been a corporate mandate
The show has far too many characters. They need to size down the main cast. Get even rid of Donald, he isn't used much anyway
Hudson Adams
>I counted a total of 6 mary sue on the show already and probably some more I forgot. Let me guess. They're all female.
Josiah Sanders
SB99 is never coming back, is he?
Kevin Adams
>Mary sue I doubt you're using this right, but at this point, that's probably how you came to know that term. Anyways, boring as fuck episode, dropped the ball with a character that you could've kept as the spooky bookish nerd to counter Huey's adventure bookish nerd.
>giving a fuck about a fat-fetish pedophile with a loud house style 'k
Adrian Anderson
hate to break it to you, but that's already calarts
Nolan Barnes
According to the S3 description on iTunes etc, an upcoming plot point involves Penumbra and a 'flintferris glomwheel'
>Everyday they’re out, they’re making DuckTales! Join the Duck family as they hunt for the world’s greatest lost artifacts. However, a secret organization from Scrooges past, F.O.W.L. seeks to stop them at any cost! Meanwhile, the kids brave a haunted house in the name of candy! A spy video game turns dangerously real as Launchpad and Dewey must stop F.O.W.L. agent Steelbeak’s plan to destroy Duckburg. And Webby sets out to prove to a homesick Penny that Earth can be a lot of fun by riding Glomgold’s newest gift to Duckburg, the suspicious Flintferris Glomwheel. The family will have to get smarter, tougher, and sharper to confront F.O.W.L. and save the world!
Jacob Morgan
I hope they burned all their SJW pandering of the season in that episode >Two dads >Legendary female explorer >Infallible female character Funny part is I didnt mind most of it (hell, I think more representation leading to normalization is a good thing) but the fact that a character who I havent even bothered to learn her name (seriously she is been in what, 2-3 episodes?) out of nowhere is better at something an established character has been the best at is just jarring. Hell, with Doofus there I though he was going to be the antagonist for the episode but not even that.
Carter Gonzalez
>Glomgold builds amusement park of doom What exactly is keeping Penumbra from going back to the moon if she wanted to though?
Jonathan Rivera
lol someone's mad as fuck
Wyatt Stewart
I just wanted to make conversation...
Zachary Gray
>lots of Violet butt >Lena is a goober >smack talk was fun >Huey will respond to Violet's authority Other than that, show's trash so far.
Parker Ramirez
I think the failure badge made the episode for me. The purple girl suddenly being a scout with never once mentioning it before was dumb. Especially when she starts spouting out the scout rules like Huey. But I came around after seeing she had already failed the test, and launch pad just wallet of failure badges was great.
Connor Nelson
I've done that before too user, it's okay
Jack Howard
Seems like someone like woo-oo porn
James Sanchez
>Legendary female explorer This one was especially bad. Not only did they replace Clinton Coot and make yet another Rosa story (perhaps his best one?) not-canon in this universe but they also did it on a whim. For a couple of brownie points! Fans of the comics my ass. I don't expect them to follow or even include most of the stuff from the comics but this one takes the cake.
Don Rosa comics have nothing to do with Ducktales at this point. They just used his name to promote their cartoon to the comic crowd. (then stopped citing him when DR himself shat on ducktales and they failed to get good reviews from comic readers anyways)
Without drawing any comparisons to duck comics, this episode was kind of weird. The reference to Camp Woodchuck Kitchen and the Tittertwill Bird were cute, and the premise of the episode was coherent. It's just making the kids compete against each other in dangerous situations that is strangely too extreme and individualistic for the Woodchucks Jr. That trial doesn't align with WJW ideologically.
Caleb Martinez
I don't like Violet.
Her butt doesn't flash at all, unlike Webby.
Hunter Phillips
Nothing, but I would prefer if they didnt retcon classic characters for the sake of it. I said it before and I say it again: I dont mind a black Spider-man but it would piss me off if they made Perter Parker asian. Just create new charactes, Khamala proved it can be done.
Nothing. Change Clinton Coot into a gal, I don't give a shit. Make him gay. Make him black. Who cares. But Guardians of the Lost Library is the best -- and I mean THE fucking BEST origin story for the Junior Woodchucks.
He was pretty good. It's always nice to see underused characters animated and voiced. Not to mention behaving pretty much exactly as I would have guessed.
Luke Parker
Better question is why they would let children traverse such a dangerous trail with bears, electric rain and volcanoes
Noah Jenkins
Because ADVENTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jaxson Gray
>I think more representation leading to normalization is a good thing >art as social engineering
>art as social engineering shouldnt be? hell, isnt it?
Jose Torres
>I think more representation leading to normalization is a good thing McFucking kill yourself, bro.
Isaac Taylor
Art is a reflection of the person who makes it. It can create or lead to a discussion, but it should never be manipulative. That's an abuse of power. At that point it becomes propaganda.
Andrew Cook
>Boys vs girls episode >The girls win EVERY FUCKING TIME
Not always. Sometimes neither side win. It's a lot better that way.
But, no, DuckTales 2017 isn't the sort of show I'd expect to do a "boys vs. girls" episode.
Connor Sullivan
Why is there always so much seething in duck threads? This literally happens no where else, with this show, besides Yas Forums. Just enjoy yourself mate.
I mean, you were probably joking, but she's a violet sabrewing named Violet Sabrewing.
Adrian Morgan
Speaking of mary sues is it just me or is there a serious lack of webby in the first two episodes
Kevin Howard
Bruh, this is Yas Forums.
Ryan Adams
>DuckTales 2017 isn't the sort of show I'd expect to do a "boys vs. girls" episode. Every episode is a boys vs girls episode. The very first episode showed us this. It's a subliminal competition every time female and male characters interact in this show. It's not something I'm just making up either. Look at what they changed when adapted Webby and Mrs. Beakley. Look at how they first interact with the male characters. It's all carefully planned and intentional.
Sebastian Diaz
>It's all carefully planned and intentional. I hardly count something that alienates the core audience "careful".
Isaiah Lopez
Indeed. Which is why disney+ and all modern disney properties are in dire straights and they are going to completely collapse within the year.
Robert Murphy
Well, then I guess "Day of the Only Child!" never happened.
Juan Wright
Not that user, but having a huge cast of characters and all the women are successful, popular, attractive, but not too much, and dodge any injury, while all the men are fat, goofy, ugly and stupid is a pretty terrible way to write a cast. The same goes for the opposite, where literally all the male characters are Chad Thundercocks who are are surprisingly smart and crafty, while all the female characters cook, clean, or are literal stay-at-home housewives.
It's extremely two-dimensional writing, they'll introduce some new female character to DT2017 and you can already make a solid guess to how smart and skilled they are, and the only flaws they have if any are usually downplayed.
