Whatever happened to metal men?

Shit man, I just come into these threads to have fun. I never once thought anything was going to come of this. I’ve never even watched Steven Universe.

Metal Men have been around in one shape or form since season one of SU, originally starting out as a sort of r63 AU.

I just come in here to have fun after working on my other projects. I never expected anything to come of this au, maybe some art, but it’s fun to share ideas
After a long day of writing up outlines and working on screenplays, I come here to relax... by writing more

Don't get me wrong, we still manage to come up with an interesting character/piece of lore from time to time, but it's just not the same.
It honestly feels like I'm talking to the same three anons over and over.

Yeah, honestly I feel kind of sad seeing this. I feel like only a few anons, including myself, care. Either way, I’ve really enjoyed these threads and it gives me a nice place to create ideas outside of my main project

Don't get me wrong, they still managed to come up with interesting character/piece of lore from time to time, but it's just not the same now that we worldbuilded a whole universe and a whole lore.
First I was just one of the Anons that keep adding pieces of MM's mythology, but now we grew so big I'm not special anymore

I just know it's a sort of open community thing and stopped contributing much after some of the ideas I liked/suggested were sort of absorbed into the loose canon because I didn't feel it was my place to curate just because I disagreed with other things that were gaining traction.

I wonder if the possible remake will have them.

You don't get it, the number of people participating in these threads actually went DOWN.
There's been a clear and continuous decrease in anons posting since the first threads, you can check desuarchive if you don't believe me.

Do you even bothered to read what I wrote or you only read my first 2 sentences and then you just make up what I said?
At the time of the first threads user was the 1 on 5 anons there that actually bothered to came up with something.
Now user is just obscured by how many already made other creatures and myths and it's overwhelmed by not being one of the only that bothered to create a lore anymore

Is there a lore or established character designs and stories of Metal Men? Drawfag here, would like to explore the idea

Gold wanted to do some tests on her as part of an experiment to see how metals and organics can reproduce
Doughnut Steel didn’t like the sound of that and stole her from Gold to raise and protect her
Gold still wants her back though

That's more or less a thing already, so we deliberately avoided that.

Gold literally wanted to see what makes her tick and keep her as a trophy. He didn’t want do do “things” to her

The original SU community in general was radically different and I think most of the people involved either left or just got drowned out. Going back into the archives and seeing the pre-Jailbreak threads is an utterly different experience compared to what came after, there used to be so many drawfags holy shit.

Just thought I’d share an idea I had for a weapon in Gold’s arsenal, since I’ll be gone for a bit
>Gold soldier serum/gold serum
This serum is a much weaker version of an ancient metal serum that could create powerful warriors out of a planet’s natural native life
Instead of creating hyper-competent evolved soldiers who are loyal to the metal empire, this serum instead is only capable of increasing the speed and strength of those its injected into, as well as providing a small healing factor. In order to ensure that these new soldiers will be loyal to Gold, the serum will affect the brain of the infected being, suppressing much of their intelligence and giving them a cult like devotion to gold, in order to make sure that these new soldiers will blindly follow gold’s orders without ever questioning them, with the only downside being that these soldiers have the intelligence of a sapient lemming.
Luckily for Stella, the serum can be cured, and because she’s a gold, the soldiers will follow her. Unfortunately for Stella, until she finds a cure, she’ll have to deal with a bunch of incredibly strong and fast idiots who just want to make her happy, but have a very stupid way of showing it
Gold has also been known to use this serum on prisoners, making them both incapable and unwilling to escape
