Spiderman. They both have a similar approach to crime fighting (beat up criminals without killing them), but Spiderman doesn't pretend to be a "grim avenger". Batman being presented as a "dark avenger" is retarded when he refuses to kill anybody.

I'm more of a Batman kinda guy, but Spider-Man's pretty cool too.

Batman because he's the greatest superhero of all time. It is what it is.

He's literally a castrated ripoff of the Shadow.

out of these 2 batman. but neither is my favorite superhero

Batman.

There's more to grim and dark than killing, you simpleton.

What about Batman is grim and dark?
>"my parents were murdered. That's why I... let the Joker kill a hundred people a year. "
Even Spidey would have killed Joker by now, or stepped back and let someone else do it.

His character and personality, plus the fact that he operates mostly at night and utilizes stealth and deception?

Cause writers wanna reuse characters and not kill them off permanently?

Also, killing anyone would make a lot of people in favor of Batman turn against him. An average joe wont feel safe knowing Batman has taken it upon himself to decide who gets to live or die, even if he only does it to Joker.

There could be quite a few ways to write Batman dealing with Joker permanently, but writers wont do it.

IRL if there were freaks like the Joker around, people would ABSOLUTELY support Batman killing him. At least half of the population would support the Punisher's actions.

Would the average Joe prefer Batman continuously letting a mass murderer act with impunity?

This. Average people would be calling for Commissioner Gordon to be fired and would turn on the Batman the first time he stopped the Joker from being killed. There would be groups of mothers of the Joker's victims demanding to know why Batman and the Joker seem to be lovers.

The average Joe would expect the system to take care of it.

While I'm all for Batman getting rid of the Joker, it'd suit his character better if he did it discreetly. Like somehow the Joker simply disappears. But I doubt any writer would do it.

Spider-Man, it isn't even a question. And i liked Zorro better when he used to ride horses.

>Batman the first time he stopped the Joker from being killed
This is just shit writing from writers who cant get their boner down for the Joker.

You're saying victim's mothers would SUPPORT Batman and the GCPD basically facilitating Joker's crimes on purpose?!

I mean that the Joker being able to do several major crimes and getting away with it is bad writing. And also writers taking Batman's no kill code too far.

Fair enough.

>because he's the greatest superhero of all time.
But that's Superman.

>Even Spidey would have killed Joker by now, or stepped back and let someone else do it.

Spider-man. He's the everyman underdog who could actually lose his loved ones, if his identity were ever revealed. Batman could always put his loved ones in the watchtower or just buy a private island.

The difference is that carnage is a normal psycho, without the symbiote, waiting to die in a cell some day. Joker gets sent to a mental asylum and doesn't either stop being the joker afterwards.

Ok, so Spiderman is an asshole too. That doesn't make Batman "dark".

Yeah, cause people will just happily give up their lives and retire to space or some island in the middle of nowhere.

Batman. He didn't sell his marriage to Mephisto.

Batman. Spider-Man is cringy as fuck

Venom is Yas Forums's spirit animal

Fair, but all of Batman's "loved ones" are skilled at violence. And Batman has shown routinely that he cares about the Joker more than his "loved ones".

>all of Batman's "loved ones" are skilled at violence
What is that supposed to mean?

>cares about the Joker more than his "loved ones"
You're just shitposting at this point.

Batman. Best comic book character, and best superhero.

Batman. I like his cast and villains more.
Most of Spider-Man’s villains bore me and he keeps losing his cast.

Both are trash, both are pussies that refuse to kill.

Stardust power is maximum

I dropped and never bought another Spiderman comic since the clone saga.
Marvel is less consistent and has great ups but the downs...are something else.

>skilled at violence
Batman's loved ones are mostly costumed vigilantes...
>cares more about the Joker than his loved ones
Who include BARBARA GORDON AND JASON TODD...

I mean, when you look at Batman's loved ones, you've got Alfred and Gordan and both of those guys would probably love to retire to a private island. And then you've got the bat family. Who are already fighting crime and are just as isolated as Bruce is. I stand by what I said. Really, the only reason why Bruce and senpai wear masks is to stop the government coming after them.

>senpai
Family

Spiderman isnt an asshole. Just because you have the power to kill a killer it's not your responsability to shoulder that decision.

>illegally beats the shit out of criminals
>magically none of them die, despite Spiderman having the strength to lift a car

Spiderman is ALL ABOUT RESPONSIBILITY.

Neither; they come as a package deal.

I paid more attention to spiderman as a kid but I mostly read batman as an adult

Spider-man but Batman is my favorite DC superhero.
Swamp Thing is my favorite comic character.

And Carnage ALWAYS comes back so your point is fucking pointless

Batman would send Alfred out for retirement if he actually wanted to go. Besides, it doesn't matter what the person does, losing anyone would still be just as bad even if they were average joes.

And Batman has a lot more to loose in his company and countless other things that rely on him to function. Batman and Bruce Wayne are a lot more involved that Spidey or Peter generally speaking.

As far as stories go, Batman is way ahead. Super-hero wise, Spider-Man because Bat man doesn't even have any fucking super powers, and when you get down to it he relies on plot armour a lot (a peak 100% human Chad would last a month TOPS as Batman).

Personally, I choose Spider-Man. He was not blessed with being written by Alan Moore, Frank Miller or other legend level creator and his continuity kinda sucks as a whole. With that being said, when you do get him right, there's something amazing about the story and life of Peter Parker, whether he's a teen trying to keep his life from falling apart or an adult struggling with his other responsibilities.

He is,but it's to also know what is and what's not his responsability. To take someone's life is an individual responsability and decision that has legal consequences and those same consequences are to be enforced by those also responsible by that.
It's the same principle why also Batman doesn't kill.

neither does carnage....what's your fucking point?
Both spiderman and batman have valid reasons to kill/not kill. stop being a brand fanboy it's all the same shit

That's nice. Now can you respond to the points that were actually made?
Batman's only loved ones are also vigilantes that risk their lives on the daily and are just as isolated as he is. Spider-man's loved ones are an old woman, a model and a few editors. Batman's loved ones aren't in anymore danger if his identity is revealed. Spider-man's are.

My point is pointless if you metathink it. But, on the face of it, the Joker is always a threat. He's never truly pacified. Carnage is. Sure, he always comes back. But Peter doesn't know that. Bruce does, by now, knows that the Joker will eventually find a way to escape and cause more harm to come to gotham's citizens.

So did Joker, he was killed more than once, a cop shoot him a dozen times and he still came back.

based and raypilled

No shit, they both do. That guy is saying that killing Joker makes more sense than killing Carnage because 'carnage gets arrested' or some shit.

No your point is pointless regardless since Carnage has come back time and time and fyi has a MUCH larger and much more gruesome body count then even the most edgy Jokers. And unlike DC which purges things from canon, all of Carnages kills still happened in-universe.

Daily reminder that killing villains is pointless, canonically the Bellow All and Empty Hand will bring them back

I grew up loving spiderman as a kid, and now as a manchild, I prefer batman more.

Respond to my point, instead of just ignoring it, and then we can proceed. You don't need to repeat yourself, except louder.

My point is your retarded because both are always a threat.
