What happened to her neck?
Coraline broke it somehow
Haha, that silly girl's gonna get her mom killed
I want Coraline to be my daughter
mom got herself involved in a car accident prior of the events in the movie
i always thought it was just a turtleneck.
Me too.
Glad I’m not the only one
with benefits?
I kinda got the impression the accident may have happened while she and Coraline were having a fight or something in the car.
Same.
I’m starting to wonder if maybe they chose the color of her sweater with the intention of people thinking this and not noticing, so that it’d be less offputting for kids and stuff.
Yeah!
Still the only geniunely good Laika film imo, probably because it's the only one written by Neil Gaiman and Henry Selick. It was also a book adaptation, not an original story from Laika
I have always found Mel Jones more attractive than Other Mother, and that opinion will never ever change. It might be her frumpy, realistic nature that really does it for me, unf
the other mother does wear a turtleneck instead of a neck brace
One of the few books I've read in my life. I wasn't concerned at all about this stylized rendition of one of the best children's books written. And it worked out pretty smoothly, I am however deeply worried about Disney's take on Stargirl. It's upsetting me. I'm wondering if they took Stargirl and turned her into an "oh so quirky 2012 pixie dream girl zooey deschanel type". The second I saw disney took the helm, I started sweating bullets.
Henry Selick > Tim Burton
Her mom was kind of a cold bitch in the movie. Wonder if someone's parent issues came out during production.
>those hips at 0:13
Is that supposed to be a controversial take? EVERYBODY feels the same way.
Coraline was a genuinely creepy film. Stop motion just has that effect I guess.
She was just stressed from moving out and writing that catalogue. Coraline being whiny didn't help her mood either.
Coraline's mother was right to say no to overpriced gloves.
Why is this the only Laika film whose character designs are, you know, appealing to look at ?
Henry Selick.
Yet she still bought them anyway. She was definitely trying to be there for Coraline halfway through, but she was already seduced by the other world to notice.
Most definitely. He was a great writer. Too bad all of Laika's next films are written by that hack, Chris Butler
>ParaNorman, Kubo, and Missing Link don’t have appealing designs
u wot m8?
Maybe in artwork, but not in motion.
What? Do you just not like stop motion then? ParaNorman characters move exactly the same way as Coraline characters.
I HAVE SEEN THE FUTURE. IT'S NOT PRETTY.
she is mad?
me: *scratch norman s dad his face*
I dunno, I liked Paranorman. Boxtrolls and Missing link are garbage though.
kubo looks nice, particularly the origami scene, but the story is meh
>the cashier in the back
god damn
TUNNEL
it's just supposed to contrast with the other mother, who acts super nice but is evil, vs. real mother who acts kinda distant but still cares about Caroline
Have some self-respect and get better taste, user.
I believe so.
Why is other mother so much hotter than regular mother?
I got a mom for ya
The duality of man
>Kubo
I'm sorry but they really don't. The animation was great in that movie but the designs and story were goddamn awful
If it's based on something, it clearly shows as the story is horribly cramped
>what did user mean by this
I wonder what would've happened if she had fallen right there.
Isn't that what she was though? Except the 2020 version, keeping chickens and putting hair out for bird's nests because the environment.
>Whatever that corridor was was older by far than the other mother.
I wish this was implied in the movie.
based
cringe
>24.99
That was pretty cool of her mum to go back and get those for her.
why didn't they continue to work together?
you know she has an unshaved bush down there
