Something like that I imagine.

About as well as Trans suicide rate.

Hatred.
Personally I don't hate the idea; despite what some people try to claim it wasn't a KorraxAssami situation where it made no sense and added on the last minute to get woke points. There was some genuine buildup throughout the show but people try to wave it off.

In the end I think the hatred comes more out of principle. Finn throughout the show became less and less important and some writers even expressed outright disdain over the main protagonist. This went on to a point that the show no longer became about Finn, it became about whatever the hell the writer of that episode wanted it to be about as other writers seemingly fought with each other over what the shows identity even was at that point.

The problem isn't the ship itself. The problem is the ship is now more important then anything Finn does, or more aptly, doesn't do.

is there a screencap from that day?

>There was some genuine buildup throughout the show but people try to wave it off
It was forced by shippers

I watched season 1-2, there is literally nothing of building there, shit started in season 3 when the staff make that simple joke about being exs or something like that

Mid and late seasons were fairly explicit.

boards.fireden.net/co/thread/102738913/#102741039

shippers started forcing it during season 1
the writers were tumblr so they shoved it in when the head writer left to do bravest warriors

for some reason they said it was “forced” and “out of the blue” even though the series has been teasing them for a while. even if you don’t like it you can’t deny that the series was building up to it

meh, no fun as the naruto finale

It existing is forced to the outrage horde regardless of how long the series spells it out.

>season 1
literally why? did these two even talk to each other in that season? also I thought that shipping war was for any of both end uo with finn in those days

It's always lesbians. Never gays.

Some amusement in a "oh they actually indulged this ship and are having them kiss on screen...this is gonna rile up and/or piss people off" sorta way. Never really cared for the ship itself though.

Putting lesbian kissing in something just to try and garner goodwill and protection from critique from the homosexual community is probably the lowest possible lows you can ever stoop to, and shows just how much you've managed to fuck up your show that you end up having to resort to this callous, soulless pandering to messed up adults in a kids cartoon.

It started after the episode "What Was Missing". Sugar originally intended them to just be estranged friends, but then there was that controversy where an employee got fired for implying a relationship between them. I don't know whether this was Sugar's doing, since the Bubbline pandering only started after she left (the first instance was the episode Sky Witch), but I wouldn't put it past her to plant it into the storyboarders' heads considering the content of Steven Universe. In any case, they ran with it.

Also keep in mind that season 3 was when the AT staff were really starting to communicate with the fanbase. Fiona and Cake was literally inspired by a Yas Forums drawfag, so the tumblr people were also an influence probably. Just more proof that fan-creator interactions are cancerous and should be kept to a minimum

Someone tried to make demolitionism a thing and it was hilarious. Fun discussions and lots of laughs.

Absolutely. The biggest enemy of any good shows is the fans. You get no good input from fans, ever. It's the critics you need to listen to, because they're telling you what you can do better. Not the faggots praising you for forcing ever more gay shit in your kids show.

Didn't care then. Don't care now.

That's so funny, people say the opposite when it comes to Marvel and DC comics. You're trying to make a general rule out of a selective point you think works in this situation.

I cringed.

Nobody was still watching at this point

Yeah seriously. When i saw This. I was just 'What The FUCK!' It was unbelivable, is That even allowed to animate in Cartoons on Cartoon Network?

Cringed, sighed, then remember I quit caring about the show back by season 5.

Faggots ruin everything and desecrate that which is already dead. It's too emotionally draining to care about what they do anymore. I'm done giving them attention or money.

Cartoon and comic fans are not the same. Which is why Yas Forums should have always been two separate boards.
Comic fans are sweaty middle-aged neckbeards, cartoon fans are emotionally stunted zoomers with identity problems.
And if you listen to either, you're a bigger moron then they are.

>god please let finn do something

I stopped watching during season three so I didn't care.

That's really dumb thinking though. Both industries have survived off pandering and marketing and only now people are saying that's a problem.

The later part of this show was such a trainwreck lmao. Went from a wacky adventure cartoon to a teenage soap opera.

>i want every thread about a franchise that has both comic and cartoon adaptions to become 200% shitposting about the medium itself no matter where you try to talk about it

What the fuck was this about? It looks like reaching in every direction to say "I hate lib shit in cartoons but I'm not hateful, it's really me and my values being attacked by the existence of a female warrior character".

Reminder it’s a fucking kids cartoon. Idc about it in any other media but a kids show is the last place for bullshit like this. Idk why they keep allowing people to pander to the gay community on kids media like movie and tv shows

You're probably trolling or incredibly new.

nothing bubbline in the first 2 seasons? yes.
this

I’m sorry I’m not a filthy degenerate like everyone on this horrid board has become but some of us have standards. The show stopped being fun after a few seasons because some retard actually hired a bunch of talentless tumblrites

Most people hadn’t watched the show in ages so they had basically no context.

I’m not saying it was good. It wasn’t. But it’s clear there are a lot of people with inaccurate impressions of what was going on.

Denial
>This can't be actually happening! The new series and comics will fix it!
Anger
>C'mon Finn, DO SOMETHING you cuck!!!!
Bargaining
>AT is a show about all the characters, Finn and Jake were always just bit players. Bubbline was hinted at since season 1 (nevermind the intern that got fired for suggesting it)
Depression I wasted a decade of my life being a devoted fan to THAT? I've sunk so much cost into this, I have to defend it! Gravity Falls was never good and WE should've lost to OTGW in the cartoon of the decade tourney final!
Acceptance
>Adventure Time was never good.

>This can't be actually happening! The new series and comics will fix it!
>mainline comic line ends with lesbians
>Season 11 comics gets cancelled after a bubbline related 4 arc issue due to low sales
>don't get to see Finn interact with Minerva or the humans more because faggots won't stop slobbering over the dykes
>Twitch stream tonight at 6 will probably show dykes instead of Finn and Jake
why

IIRC Sugar was actually a hardcore Finn+Marceline shipper when she worked on the show.

Did anyone’s opinion of the show actually change because of the finale?

There was nothing surprising about it

>. There was some genuine buildup
The only bits I feel really qualify were Stakes and that band episode. But even that latter falls more into the nudging hey what if these guys slapped clams eh eh, rather than really developing a relationship. When Finn and FP got together it was many episodes of both working towards a point they could be together, and even when they were there were challenges to over come. Marcy and PB argue a bunch in Stakes but are then just sort of together cause fans have accepted they love each other. With the show being too much of a bitch for it to be outright stated until the end.

That's my issue with it, their relationship feels a lot more like nudge nudge wink wink than a well developed relationship between the main cast. They get sad at each other, they are heavily implied to want each other and argue. So they must be in love. Meanwhile they don't really build this relationship, they don't work through whatever problems they had or have to grow to form a relationship. It is more like each gets simplified so a relationship isn't an issue. Any argument or clear character flaws are just sort of brushed away. This is in opposition to Finn who out of no where ruined relationships without a chance to really get it back. So it ends up fuelling that whole bias feeling.

I don't know why people blame Sugar for the writing staff turning against Finn. She actually cared enough about the guy to give him a girlfriend (Flame Princess).

Couples kiss

I agree user, after the grass sword became a person it was just not fun anymore

>It's always lesbians. Never gays.
Lesbians are the only ones in the LGBT+ group that are deserving of a lot of representation.
That is why you mostly just see them when they want to have homosexual characters and rarely guys.

Grass sword had potential. Didn't they have Fern at first do his own thing and then he wanted to become Finn the next time he appeared? I don't even know why he'd feel or be ostracized by the other characters when that is essentially another Finn.

The stream is tomorrow

Because she was the root of all the problems in the later seasons.

dykes are so sensitive you dont see gaychads crying about not being in cartoons or movies

>deserves representation
No one deserves it. That’s like saying black people deserve representation in cartoons despite the fact there are barely any in America. It’s not worth it and especially in cartoons arguably aimed at kids
Fins dad ruined it for me. At no point did it ever seem like that was fine dad. Idk if I missed. It just seems like they added him in just to say “oh yea fin has a dad that exists” and nothing more

What? Gays were bitching about the abundance of lesbos too.

Well, it is here to stay and there's really nothing your bigotry and hatred can do to change it.
You will just see more of it over time so get used to that.

And, yes, that might even include black people and... GASP! Muslims too!
You people will just have to cope with the fact that times are changing.

Wait...are you telling me that black people exist DESPITE the fact I AM a BLACK MAN? Oh NO NO NO how will I ever cope bros. All trolling and memeing aside who cares. If a character is a good and likeable it shouldn’t matter as long as their inclusion isnt just for checking off how man different races, lifestyles and religions we can get into one thing

This show was a victim of the times

I was personally happy...and also wanted to coom.

It really was, the "subversion" was just boring and the plot was just meandering around.
Almost everyone I knew dropped the series after frost and fire but I just dug in my heels and stuck around, it had its ups and downs but the quality was just all over the fucking place in the later half of the series.

Yas Forums was very supportive, HOWEVER, many incels from Yas Forums and Yas Forums came here to cry about it. THEY were the ones who were upset

From what I remember more people were complaining about how Finn wasn't a main character in his own show anymore

>he actually cared enough about the guy to give him a girlfriend
You can trace issues back to this sort of thing though. She gave him a gf, but mostly cause they had decided to force Finn away from PB. Which before someone says anything, the latter is a decision I'm actually for cause it was a one sided crush. Instead of maybe giving Finn time to grow outside of pursuing relationships it set up he is either sad boy or jumping into a replacement gf. Romance had to be a feature of the character. When really it had existed to facilitate adventures, it was another cliche the show played with.

Sucrose would probably have handled it all better, but she has a habit of setting up and then letting others get out of control.
