Well what the fuck can I buy under these circumstances? Amazon isn't taking any non-essential orders, and I doubt instocktrades is still shipping shit. It was a hassle just to get my pull list from my LCS
I got all these from independent sellers on Amazon like a week ago.
I think Amazon is still taking orders, they just aren't restocking when they run out of non-essential stuff. And I've been ordering a shitton of stuff from third party sellers on Amazon. Plus there's ebay.
I'm finally cracking open my Essential Fantastic Four volumes one through five. I've put it off for too long and now's as good a time as any. I'm five issues in and loving it so far.
On a side note, the complete 60s FF radio serial is on YouTube and it blows my mind that Bill Murray, of all people, voiced Johnny Storm.
Far as I know, Amazon's still taking orders, but they do have a notice that they're prioritizing essential services and deliveries so other items may take longer to arrive.
Garth Ennis more like Barf Penis
DCBS (IST's sister site) is having a big sale right now
IST is still shipping, but I doubt for long.
This is coming tomorrow.
will be a while till I can pick up new books, so reposting my haul that I got a week before everything shut down.
>Quarantine Zone
I had to
>60s FF radio serial
I'm definitely going to be listening to this tonight. Thanks and enjoy yourself reading what is possibly the greatest and most imaginative run of cape comics.
>Well what the fuck can I buy under these circumstances?
90s comics since all the TP is gone.
>Ennis
Disgusting.
Why is he grey
Don’t have them on me right now but I recently ordered X-Statix, Planetary, and the final trades of Alan Moore’s Swamp Thing.
This ended up being pretty good, I'm glad Boom! is back to making publishing comics again after that weird post-Lumberjanes spell
*publishing good comics
I went on an Amazon binge and bought a dozen things on my wishlists that were around 50% off. Here are the comics that have come in so far.
I got the first trade of Prophet at my LCS back when it came out and was super hyped on here. I enjoyed it and have had the rest of the series on my list since, but it was low priority since the first one stood on its own very well. Now it's been long enough that I'm going to reread it tomorrow before getting into this one.
I've been planning to check out Street Angel since getting into Cartoonist Kayfabe and ordered Princess of Poverty first because it was cheap. It's not quite what I expected and much less polished than what I've seen of Deadliest Girl Alive, but very fun.
The Comicbook History of Comics is alright I guess. I knew about 80% of what it covered already, but still enjoyed reading it for the history aspect. The jokes mostly fell flat and the biggest disappointment is that the art adds nothing to the storytelling. In parts it almost feels less like a comic and more like a series of illustrations with captions that would fit better on some comic news website than on a bookshelf. I don't think I'll get the second volume unless it drops to under 8 bucks, and only then if I don't get rid of this volume first. If anyone knows a better comic about the history of comics I'd love to know about it.
Not pictured and not Yas Forums is What Makes Sammy Run, which I got after hearing about Kirby comparing Stan Lee to Sammy Glick. I'm about one third into it and I'm enjoying it.
Old Archies are way softer.
It was his original look and he goes back to it in this run. He’s also not a dumb brute through most of it, also true to his origins.
I’m not a huge PAD fan but he does some cool stuff with the Hulk.
As an added benefit the omni teams him up with both of his future archenemies McFarlane and Larsen.
Agreed.
Are there any decent places that still have the first Sunstone hardcover available? IST is out and I'm concerned about the seller packing with care because I've had way too many bad Amazon experiences.
Went to comic con a couple of weeks ago. Here's my haul.
bump
jelly about that swamp thing
Super good shit. That'll last you a little while as far as reading goes
Prophet is great until near the end. At some point it just goes iff the rails.
Fuck yeah Brubaker Cap
Got a complete run of Sandman Mystery Theater in the mail today. Also, the JLA Secret File #1, the last key issue I needed to have the entire 96-05 JLA run collected :)
Cool
DC delays, and new stuff added to the Fall 2020 catalog:
>Deadman Omnibus
>JLA by Morrison Omnibus
Have both been delayed. All of the Wonder Woman releases (like the WML book) have also been delayed to coincide more with the movie in August (until that gets moved again)
New, unsolicited stuff:
Justice Society of America: The Demise of Justice Hardcover
Collects Justice Society of America #1-8, Adventure Comics #466, and All-Star Comics #57
>Aka the mini that led into an ongoing that was then cancelled by Mike Carlin because "old farts don't belong in comics"
>Does not contain the 10 issue ongoing that followed it.
Batman: The Dark Knight Detective Vol. 4
Collects Detective Comics #601-611 and Detective Comics Annual #2.
The Flash by Geoff Johns Omnibus Vol. 2
Collects The Flash #192-225, Wonder Woman #214, and The Flash: The Secret of Barry Allen #1.
Justice League International Book 2
>contents unknown, but the Born Again trade was over 500 pages, so this is likely the rest of the omnibus vol 1.
Superman: Kryptonite Nevermore HC
Everyone knows Superman’s major weakness: Kryptonite. But what happens when that’s taken off the board, as a scientific experiment turns all the kryptonite on Earth to iron? Originally published in 1971, this story turned the Man of Steel’s status quo on its head. When all Kryptonite has been destroyed, the Man of Steel is anything but invulnerable as his powers slowly begin to fade and a doppelganger Superman arrives on the scene with strange powers of its own—and any contact between the two might result in the destruction of the planet!
Collects Superman #233-238 and #240-242.
Wonder Woman in the Fifties
>contents unknown
Batman: Chalice
Batman: The Chalice with the addition of Batman: The Ankh Book One and Two brought to you by the acclaimed creative duo Chuck Dixon and John Van Fleet!
>painted art
Expect a bunch of delays though because their regular canadian printer is shutdown due to covid
I’m pretty curious about Marvel. There are a lot of Omnis scheduled for the fall.
most of those omnis are printed in china, so who knows
I ordered
>One Piece 93
>Mob Psycho 100 4
>Master Keaton 11
>Fire Punch 3
>Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Omnibus 2
>Jessica Jones 2
>Daredevil - Unusual Suspects
But mostly I'm focusing on my backlog. Going to finally make a dent in it!
Master Keaton is rad.
Wish I had a daughter like his.
oh yeah, if anyone missed it

*coof*
Holy shit based.

Street Angel sorta sucks, I like Rugg as a person but he can't really write
Same user you were responding to, Milligan is underrated as fuck and secretly an extremely great writer so I'm particularly excited to see what he does with X-Statix (although I am tempering my expectations a bit because I hear it starts strong and ends less so). I'm so glad that they recently starting collecting his run.
How is Kurosagi Corpse Delivery? I own the first omnibus but I'm just curious as to how I should temper my expectations.
>I own the first omnibus
I obviously think it's worthwhile since I got the 2nd one, maybe you should try reading it.
Sure, but I’m just curious about whether it’s like a hidden masterpiece or if I should be expecting something a little lesser.
It's not a hidden masterpiece, it's just a good manga.
>preacher
GTFO here pleb
Preacher is good though, why are you being like that bro?
nice catch user. all those x-men real nice.
I bought the tas batman book
Under normal conditions I wouldn't buy other digital trades but given the circumstances I bought the first trade of the idw sonic book.
I'm considering buying a few others digitally, mostly from indie publishers, just to help keep the cashflow going. Although I'm bring cautious about things I for sure want in my.physical collection. I wish I could pay like 20 or 40% above the print rate to buy a physical product but still get digital access but that isnt a thing unfortunately. Otherwise I'd be dropping my whole monthly budget.
I hope that printer goes out of business and they find one that can do non-shit hardcovers.
>although I am tempering my expectations a bit because I hear it starts strong and ends less so
You heard wrong. Some of my favorite stuff is near the end.
Help me anons: should I pick up Hellboy in library or omnibus editions? I'm going to get the whole run, but I can't decide if the library editions are worth the extra ~200$
There's material the omnis collect that the Library Editions don't. The omnis are the way to go.
>One Piece 93
My man(ga)! I love One Piece.
I was never interested in Namor growing up, always preferred Aquaman, but he's growing on me thanks to FF. I kept eyeing the Essential Submariner before and that trade looks cool too.
Swamp Thing is always a good choice.
Too bad they, to my knowledge, never released any other David X-Factor after the second Complete Collection.
I've only listened to the first, but it really is just like an audio book of the issues.
Thanks user!
>Too bad they, to my knowledge, never released any other David X-Factor after the second Complete Collection.
The entire run exists in TPB form if you're willing to track them down.
My local amazon depot (scotland) has had a case of coronavirus and yet is still open.
That said I'm using my time of work to catch up with my backlog.
And I've learned I need to check books as they arrive.
This was sealed till the other day and I got in 2018
>. I wish I could pay like 20 or 40% above the print rate to buy a physical product but still get digital access but that isnt a thing unfortunately.
they tried to make that happen but it fell through cause it seems no one wants to have an actual plan for during this pandemic.
there is so much PAD X-Factor between his 3 runs. Even if I can't track it all down I would be ok reading some digitally and some physical. I grabbed that Complete though cause it was $5
Which series you own has the best art? I'm looking for things that will make me stare with slackjawed awe at the pages.
Same printer does work for Dark Horse, Boom, Image, Dynamite.
The shit binding is what DC pays for.
Immortal Hulk
>The Metabarons (RIP)
>Orc Stain
>Promethea
>Skydoll
>Shame
>Swamp Thing (Moore)
