I just think its rather forced and solidifies the idea that casuals are incapable of looking into the many black characters that already exist, not to mention disrespectful to Selina's comic canon heritage of being Italian/Dominican (or was it Puerto Rico?). At any rate, the "Catwoman has been black before!" argument seems rather short sighted and petty, an exception to the rule people want to push for whatever reason. Nothing against Ertha Kitt, but I'm not going to start demanding Manchester Black being black because the Supergirl show did it.
