BASED. Fragments was kino but the finale was utter garbo that didn't give proper closure to ANYTHING, Steven's fight with Jasper and her shattering were more impactful than any of the awful attempts at emotional scenes in I Am My Monster and The Future, the moments where everyone was overdramatically blaming themselves for Steven's corruption along with everyone crying and pissing themselves while telling Steven goodbye were so badly written and transparent in trying to manipulate the audience to feel sad that they came across as jokes.

The season started off as deliciously dark and realistic in its exploration of mentall illness and would have unironically been better off ending with Steven seeing himself as a monster after killing somebody, resolving Steven's problems with a hug and offscreen online therapy was so stupid and unrealistic that it threw all of it out the window.

Even Fragment's dialogue and character development were superior, Steven's mentor/apprentice relationship with Jasper is one of the most interesting things to ever come out of the show but the finale completely dropped it and never gave it a proper conclusion for some reason, we just got Jasper fucking off so the crystal gems and comic relief diamonds could act like idiots and Connie could give everyone a corny pep-talk instead.

Just going off of visuals alone; the art, animation, and action in Fragments were miles better than anything in the last four episodes, and penis monster Steven has nothing on psychotic Chad Steven, he didn't do any damage to anyone or anything and spent 90% of the episode being stuck in the ocean.

REMINDER that Fragments was the real last episode of the series and the retarded group hug never happened

Though, again, the hug shouldn't have happened at all because it's utterly retarded to portray hugging as a resolution to a ptsd induced mental breakdown. Those can last for hours and when you're experiencing depersonalization or psychosis like Steven was, outside attempts to comfort you does nothing to help pull you back into reality. I remain firm in my belief that Rose and Jasper should have contributed the most to helping Steven by addressing his core problems with his self worth issues and fear of being like his mother.

Murder, doesn't take back that he killed someone and enjoyed it, and making it so that nobody cared is just another stupid decision on the writer's end that made shattering Jasper pointless and contributed to the finale feeling anticlimactic and unrealistic
