Wasn't an opportunity. Jason was more of a solo act pre New 52, and for some reason they decided to fuck over and get rid of Diana;s supporting cast in the new 52. They're also wasn't a whole lot in common. Jason was treading the line closer to villain than hero generally, while Artemis was one of the major leadership figures in Themyscira and one of Diana's closest friends.
And it really was something of a crackship idea at first, but it's been developed pretty well.
