Good evening owls,

a reckoning is at hand

tonight's opera is DON CARLO: bcove.video/33YtQLR

look at that ridiculous cape

I gotta take a break from opera tonight but I finished Nixon this morning and the ballet scene was incredible. And then I went and looked up the actual transcript of Nixon and Mao's first meeting and that the scene in the opera basically factually adapts it is even MORE incredible.

I didn't expect Kissinger to have so few show-stealing moments but still so much character. And I see what you meant with your comment on Zhou Enlai's actor - because the whole thing finishes on that, if he's a less distinctive performer it does feel a bit weak.

Hello, Storyteller.

>actually indicative of the issue's contents
Again, gotta give credit to L.E.G.I.O.N's covers. Like, I shouldn't have to, but good covers really have become a lost art.

Seems a bit dangerously metafictional to have the players recognize the Audience and point a gun at them.

It was written for Sanford Sylvan who had this amazing ability to float lines, and yeah

Hah, DC after Nixon is like politics followed by 5 hours of politics

>Painting
>still wearing a shirt
??

Remember this is Vril's first ever gf

He has to be brainwashed...

Vril has no knowledge of the power of his own shirtlessness. It's a tragic flaw only marginally compensated for by his tendency to wear snappy uniforms.

>Sanford Sylvan
Isn't he that guy who turned out to be yet another bad touch man?

Also, rude Lobo.

nooooo no no no, but he did pass away a few years ago

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 038-006.jpg (1985x3051, 1.6M)

I think you're thinking of David Daniels, and that one was pretty fucked up to find out about

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 038-007.jpg (1985x3051, 1.78M)

don't fuck with Phase!!!!

>Aww jeez
>Now I have a snuff fetish
>fuck.

Frank Quitely ruined me for fights in swimming pools.

Vril's not used to havin these sorts of thoughts

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 038-012.jpg (1985x3051, 1.64M)

Okay, my bad.

Just an aside, Vril smiling is the worst thing.

It's become so common, yet it's just awful every single time. The sheer prevalence of abuse in every sphere of society is depressing as fuck.

lol, that comichub idea is already dead two days in.
what specifically?

Love is a needless distractions for someone like you Vril. Get back to being the magnificent bastard we love to hate.

Man, either this version of Lobo is really nerfed, or Ice Man is a tough fucking guy.

That edgy superhero series he did with Mark Millar. Jupiter's something. There's an extended fight scene in a resort #2 and when I looked at those pages here I just sadly thought, "This isn't as cool as that really cool Frank Quitely fight".

Tynion is writing the Alan Scott story for the Green Lantern anniversary special, and I can honestly see DC giving him the JSA book if it happens

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 038-014.jpg (1985x3051, 1.55M)

nothing is happening anymore

Sadly, comparing you average big two artist with Frank Quitely is the road to madness

Tru

DC and Marvel aren't just gonna stop indefinitely. And this coronavirus situation isn't going away for many months. I give it two to three weeks max before either or both of them are releasing new books again

Sucks that comics will die just before society collapses and I won't be able to trade my collection for food n ammo.

They've got until September to work out what to do with the DC Universe and franchise in general.

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 038-015.jpg (1985x3051, 1.71M)

aww here we go

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 038-016.jpg (1985x3051, 2.01M)

Comics will not die. The American direct market might though

If anyone wants a slight spoiler of how long it takes to dismantle Go'od's empire, this act ends with issue 50

>The American direct market might though
We news stands?

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 038-017.jpg (1985x3051, 2.05M)

love that future high tech there

>even Telepath is thirsty for blood
Damn.

I mean, it may have already. Diamond is fuuuuuuuuuucked, and the major publishers are already talking about alternate distribution methods, so...

Telepath has picked up a few tricks from Lobo.

Lol no

Maybe they can just go the original graphic novel route? Comics are padded for trades nowadays anyway,so as long as they don't go crazy with the pricing, that'd be the better deal.

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 038-019.jpg (1985x3051, 2.15M)

Help, I'm now imagining a character named Major Butt.

It had a terrible announcement. Minimal information/details and being told things are still developing. Plus, the idea still hinged on Diamond, and diamond aren't shipping.

My hope is the direct market and local comic stores survive this But Diamond needs to go. I like the local comic store and I like it being local business and not some large multinational corporation chain.

Well fiddlesticks.

Not with current page rates and overhead costs. I still wonder how much Vertigo lost with that Crime line, and they were in B&W.

I'm still gonna preach the word of done-in-one stories, but this would be acceptable.

This does make me wonder if they could get away with the manga method though. Y'know, issue/chapter first published in a company magazine, then later released in a trade volume.

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 038-022.jpg (1985x3051, 2.01M)

There'd be no living with Yas Forums. Not that there's much living with them now.

Heroes for Hire, not Hiro Protagonist!

Shonen Jump lets everyone read the first issues and last three issues of its titles for free, then you can sign up for the full thing and buy the trades if you want to. I just don't think comics has the readerbase or enough appealing stories to sustain something like that.

so how are you all???

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 038-024.jpg (1985x3051, 1.83M)

I need a haircut.

That's the current american version. user is referring to the japanese distribution model. That includes a bunch of titles all published in a single anthology with an average of 20 or so page chapters for each issue.

If the direct market and comic stores do fail. I can see this being a method tried by Marvel and DC in mass market stores.

I'm beginning to forget how being in a crowd felt.

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 039-000.jpg (1985x3051, 1.97M)

I ordered a bunch of painting supplies out of a desperate need for a hobby.

>knowing how it felt in the first place
lmao @ u normie

Aka the dc 100 page giants walmart stuff, and lcs's cried about being betrayed until DC made new onea for them

I saw Ike took a pay cut! Which is better than a lot of CEOs, somehow, but still kind of terrible?!

What can I say, work had certain prerequisites that don't actually exist these days. Namely, standing in restaurants full of people. It's kind of nice being able to pace the length and breadth of a building while waiting for an order. But, I thought I'd enjoy the quiet more.

How're you OP? How's the dog, especially for walkies?

it rained today so she was unhappy but she's getting two walks a day AND she got a bath today so she's super cuddleable

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 039-003.jpg (1985x3051, 2.44M)

I'm fine. Still grappling with that whole "holy shit, it's a goddamn plague" existential terror thing, but, y'know.

For some reason, I was thinking of checking out Queen Emeraldas. Not exactly a huge Lejimoto fan or anything, but hey, fabulous space pirate queen. Why the hell not.

Plus, Resident Evil 3 Remake. Heard nothing but good things about Jill's game, and fictional spooks are infinitely better than real ones.

Work is normal tonight after I sent a very angry text to The manager last night about how bad we were fucked so we have a decent number of workers!

Im still like an hour late tho lol

How’s tricks thread? My state is finally on lockdown so I’m worrying about getting drugs

Hahahahaha

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 039-004.jpg (1985x3051, 1.96M)

Leijimoto is great, Emeraldas and Harlock rule on style factor alone. I'm very sad I don't have a console to play RE3R.

I should have saved it as a copypasta when I wote it, but I did some theorycrafting on how much those DC kid/teen OGN's must cost. I think it was around 90K without printing or editing costs.
Given that DC cancelled softcover releases of WWE1:B2 and GLE1:B1, those must have not sold well.

Oh I got Greedfall so once this issue is over I'm going back to my sexy lady de Sardet

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 039-005.jpg (1985x3051, 1.89M)

TERMINATOR VRIL

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 039-006.jpg (1985x3051, 1.83M)

Nobody is going to pay for four comics they don’t want to get one they do.

let me know what Greedfall's like please, kinda interested

See user now he's painting without a shirt. Painting... IN BLOOD.

It is 3:35 long, but this is a very respectable introduction to Don Carlo if anyone has the time

Attached: L.E.G.I.O.N. (1989-1994) 039-007.jpg (1985x3051, 2.03M)

Me too, badly.
I have an ear infection. My meds cost 300$.good thing my wife is loaded.

No one is paying for any comics these days

Remember how Legends of Tomorrow bombed? Those stories weren't even that bad (Sugar & Spike!) but it was sub 10K in a couple issues.

Kitson would REALLY benefit from some old school inks, like what Rubenstein, Green or Wiacek did.

God is in his heaven and all's vaguely acceptable with the world.
I like the singing. I have no idea what anyone's singing about, CC doesn't play with picture in a picture.
