It's sort of shocking how bad and unfunny it was. Was like watching a 38% disliked animation on YouTube from 2011. No jokes, over reliance on all of Zach's comedy staples (babbling and screaming), no character has anything to offer. Somehow worse than the Hellbenders one.

True, and I am indeed being a little exaggerated, but when it comes to these sorts of deals you are indeed the faggiest sounding little shit if the only defense that can be mustered is "I'd like to see you do better". Its a gigantic nothingburger of a defense that holds no water.
Personally I found it to be mediocre and the humor just really familiar and derivative, but then again, I've been browsing Yas Forums for about a fucking decade at this point so this mild shock humor is something I'm overtly familiar with.
Its competent, but not particularly groundbreaking or fresh.

i been on 4chin for about 14 years and i'd say the familiarity is what i enjoy about it. i'm not interested in the novel, i'm interested in the refined. and these bois' humor is the same schtick they've been doing for a while, just presented in a really slick package that is clearly them trying to distill themselves into something replicable across a larger team. and to me, a person that has a great appreciation for and belief in the gay-ass Power Of Collaboration, that distillation is good. they've had to really figure out what they like about their styles and what they don't, and have sloughed off the chaff till it's only wheat. or that's what it feels like to me, insofar as is possible with such stupid trash.

i don't know what you expect out of an adult swim pilot, but i like it for its mix of the grotesque, the stupid, the satirization of traditional values, the satirization of "edginess", the explicit contempt for its audience, and the implicit love of its audience and predecessors. it's the reason i like Yas Forums, actually. i desperately desire wholesomeness, but i can't trust it unless it's presented to me buried in 50 layers of irony and cynicism.

and this pilot is, at its core, wholesome.
