ITS GOOFY TIME
IT'S VADER TIME
>this ad got me to not watch Adventure Time when I was 13
>mfw I got to avoid the disappointment of the show going nowhere and ending unceremoniously
About 11:54
Adventure Twink??
Same, I avoided the show when I was 11 because of the advertising.
Didn't properly watch it til like 2014/2015 when the show was already being a disappointment with how it handled arcs/characters
NO DAD NO
This board is full of newfags but you’re a real one
Is today the day? Has it really been 10 years since AT first dropped?
>YWN live in early 2010s again
No it turns 10 in like 3 days, but if you want to get REALLY technical, it's already 10 because 1 episode came out as a sneak peek in March 2010
I remember watching that sneak peek episode, fuck
It was the one of Ricardio, right? I remember first seeing trailers of Adventure Time when watching the first Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie in theaters with my cousins.
>started with some fun episodes
>slowly started dropping hints of LORE
>they expand upon some things, but not a ton
>those entire seasons of relationship drama
>ends tossing the main characters to the side because the writers hate him and proudly admitted it
Lore is becoming a bad thing in general because it gets you interested and invested, just to never actually be expanded upon
No it was the one where they first meet marceline
>will never be in the early 2010s again
>will never experience CN Renaissance shows for the first time again
I sure hope we get some good shows in the early 2020s, it feels like we're still getting leftover garbage from the late 2010s.
If I remember correctly, Adventure Time was written as if they were playing Dungeons and Dragons and made shit up as they went along, it's not a surprise the lore ended up being disappointing.
Steven Universe and Gravity Falls are the only 2010s cartoons to do lore somewhat competently
Still the GOAT. Even after so long

The sneak peak episode was Business Time. The one where Brian Posehn played the Business men.
You kids are misremembering.
Yeah why did they never address that those guys were human
Adventure Time's first season feels like it would've fit right at home airing alongside Flapjack and Chowder. Way more episodic and childish compared to later seasons.
It was before they thought too hard about the DEEPEST LORE
The creator had just stopped working on Flapjack at that point right
I disagree. SU dropped the ball hard on the lore because so much is introduced and never expanded upon.
>diamonds make the gems, who made the diamonds?
>more backstory on pink, and how exactly she even came to the idea of giving up her form to make Steven, a hybrid between human and gem. She canonically would fool around with human men often, was she experimenting to see what was possible?
>Why does pink have so many powers compared to the other diamonds? There's healing, destruction, resurrection, permanently shape shifting, barriers/bubbles
I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting, but I just woke up not too long ago.
Gravity falls did slightly better, but there's still some they intentionally avoided
>Ford spent decades in another dimension and we learn NOTHING about those dimensions besides him bringing trinkets back
>Everything we learn about Bill is superficial, just that he's an immortal demon who wants to bring chaos, not much else
>Despite Bill seemingly being bound by deals, he completely breaks his deal with Dipper to unlock the laptop in exchange for a puppet. He takes over Dippers body and then immediately smashes the laptop. Doesn't even do some work around like unlocking it and then smashing before we can see anything important
The lore with Finn being the last human was the least interesting part to me. Especially with Susans arc and the fish people.
I feel like they really blew their LORE LOAD on Simon and Marcey. Hell, that could have been it's own mini series if they played it right
There’s some lore about Ford’s alternate dimensions in the merchandise
>Who made the diamonds
Personal theory is Sneople, but it wasn't important for the story they were telling and they didn't have time to wrap up the current loose ends in Future with such limited episodes so adding more wouldn't have helped.
>Pink
I'm surprised they never expanded on why she was small, i was lead to believe she was an off-color.
As for how she birthed Steven, they probably can't go into detail because kids show and it'd likely raise more questions than it answers
>Bill cipher
The crew admitted in commentaries that he wasn't intended to be the big bad early on, it just kinda happened. Ironically he was more interesting early on.
I think the crew forgot that they made Finn as a blank slate to surround with better side characters and instead focused on him
How would you rank the major CN zoomer shows, AKA, Chowder, the Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Adventure Time, Regular Show, the Amazing World of Gumball, Steven Universe/ Future
Adventure Time = Steven Universe/Steven Universe Future > the Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack = Regular Show > Chowder > the Amazing World of Gumball
Regular Show = Gumball > Flapjack > Steven Universe > Chowder > Future
i was in elementary school while these commercials were airing
I just wish so much of Finns "development" wasn't based on his (failed) relationships with others. We wasted so much fucking time on Flame Princess just for their relationship to end over the course of a single fucking episode because Finn was getting wet dreams, literally.
You forgot Adventure Time.
Also,
>Steven Universe Future at the bottom
I was in kindergarten
Same. I was near the end of 5th grade when Adventure Time aired. I remember a classmate playing one of those really early AT flash games during free time in class.
Steven Universe/Future > Flapjack > Chowder > Regular Show > Gumball > > > > > Adventure Time
SHUT UP SHUT UP I CANT TAKE IT
FUCK ITS BEEN 10 YEARS FUCK FUCK
MODS
shhh
Steven Universe doesn't belong on this list, it came out way later than the other ones. Hell even Gumball is debatable. You could argue Chowder and Flapjack aren't zoomer shows either (rule of thumb: if your show was made by a Gen X before 2010 it's not zoomer, if it was made by a millennial after 2010 it's zoomer)
Wouldn't the entirety of the 2010s be Zoomer shows?
Flapjack and Chowder only last a few years and they ended in 2010 and got reruns for the first half of the decade. Zoomers would remember them.
Low quality bait
My honest opinion is bait?
Yeah but they don't have the zoomer style of writing (defined by the juxtaposition of wacky comedy with deepest lore and gay representation and whatnot; think Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, ect.)
Courage also reran on CN well into the 2010s, is that also a zoomer show?
No, but Chowder and Flapjack's humor feels in line with early 2010s CN, just a little more childish.
If Flapjack had continued airing throughout the 2010s it definitely would've developed some kind of deepest lore and had gays. Not sure about Chowder though, Mung x Schnitzel was already canon though so they had that.
Not him, but future felt like wasted potential.
>entire season is showing Stevens deteriorating emotional state
>volleyball episode brought up that Pink had a secret violent side with destructive powers that Pearl had no idea about, the same destructive powers now manifesting in Steven
>the entire season is building up to Steven losing control more and more to these pink outbursts, and in Fragments he finally gives in and is enjoying putting his power on display, so much so that he shatters Jasper without even thinking
>an episode later he attempts to shatter white diamond
>then an episode of him being in complete denial about everything going on, until he loses all control and corrupts himself into a monster
>things are ridiculously hyped up, all for it to be resolved in a single episode
>we don't learn more about Pinks destructive side, or why it was manifesting in Steven suddenly
>We never get any explanation for why Pink/Steven have a dozen powers compared to the other diamonds having 2
>And worst of all, we never see Steven confronting himself. This entire time he's been running away from the fact that he is a diamond, but he never comes to terms that it's who he is and that won't change. Any and all reflection about himself is off screen and we get a single line about him having a therapist now
And you know they didn't even put much thought into it at all because they don't mention the therapist being a gem. No human therapist is ever going to be able to genuinely help Steven because they can't understand him.
Future was wasted potential, and the ending felt incredibly rushed. Of all the villains to be redeemed instantly, it felt the cheapest with Steven. And they brought up Pink again just to take some extra shots at her instead of giving us more backstory
Same here 5th grade to be exact.
I wish Future was a 52 episode season like season 1, I think that would've fixed the pacing issues IMMENSELY while having time to have fun with the new status quo of the show and giving all the characters a more proper sendoff.
But if every pork chop were perfect...
Okay, maybe I'll give you Flapjack. Chowder is not a zoomer show by any stretch of the imagination, it doesn't have any of the eccentricities (like gays, preachiness, "OMG THE 80s!!!!!" shit, deepest lore, ect.). While Flapjack does have a similar style of humor it's also devoid of these traits, though if you want to be pedantic you could consider it a transitional show between the kino age of the 90s/2000s and the modern zoomer/soillennial-driven show period.
I was in 8th grade
It was both episodes. Marceline ep and Business Time were both shown before the official start date.
I just wish that if Steven was going to be redeemed like all villains in SU are, it should have taken longer. He should have rampaged for at least two episodes.
Just imagine
>Steven tries and fails at shattering white diamond
>He asks Spinel for her advice on vengeful thoughts, and she gives him his own advice
>Stevens sorrow and rage wells up, he's able to help everyone, but seemingly no one is able to save him
>Steven corrupts into his monster form and starts rampaging, destroying the city and terrorizing the gems there
>The diamonds attempt to reach him, but ultimately give up once their powers fail and they believe he cannot be saved
>All out battle between the diamonds and monster Steven rages on, maybe at some point after nearly being shattered the diamonds decide it's best to just hide
>Back on earth the crystal gems are trying to find Steven, and eventually decide to check homeworld
>They beam in and discover the place in shambles, eventually help reach Steven and calm him down
There, that way you can redeem Steven, but still let him rampage without destroying Beach City. Was it that hard?
>WHAT TIME IS IT WHAT TIME IS IT WHAT TIME IS IT?!
SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO SO YOU CAN SHUT UP???!!!
This. It was after the hall of game or something. I remember watching diary of a wimpy kid the movie the day after it aired.
I was 19 years old about to be 20 when this commercial aired.
>tfw almost 30 and ur still shitposting on this fucking board
>Tfw Yas Forums has been a constant in my life for a decade
It's crazy to think how I've spent hundreds of hours on boards like Yas Forums, Yas Forums and Yas Forums while I use no other web forums or social media at all.
I was 13, i wish i never discoverd this site
I don’t think he wanted to hurt innocent people
They also kinda foreshadowed Steven destroying little homeworld and poofing his friends in Bluebird but they never did anything with it. Red herring I guess?
I only just started shitposting here in 2016 when I was 17 lol I sure hope I'm not still here at 30 Jesus.
I know right, before Yas Forums I was on geocitys. Im still in 2005 mind set with how the internet is suppose to be, I don't know where I would go if this site were to go away, perhaps just go outside.
you're here forever
Might as well. All the major social medias (Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr) are normie garbage.
>tfw i started posting here when i was 12 in 2014 and I just turned 18 a month ago
Me too. It's like that "you're here forever" meme wasn't really a joke after all.
But if he rampaged on homeworld he would have only destroyed the city, and fought with the diamonds who arguably have wronged him in the past. Even then he wouldn't shatter them
Yeah, probably red herring, or they changed their mind after it was predicted, because they took the hiatus right after that episode.
I'm planning on making a instagram and youtube to make dub memes. I've been interested in voice over for years but never felt motivated to try to make anything. May as well while I've got time
Time for you to shut up!
The show wrapped production in late 2019 so CN was just holding on to the last episodes for no reason other than to build hype.
What i found funny is they did this right when ATs popularity was waning
This was in 2013 before SU even aired. AT's popularity wasn't dying yet
The real sad thing was when The Simpsons did an Adventure Time couch gag in fucking 2016.
