I don't know much about other Eastern Bloc countries but Poland only makes three types of cartoons: for little children (most of them), mature edgefests for adults and artsy-ass pieces for festivals. Local children's stories have always been full of animals so it's no surprise they make it into cartoons, too.

I can't help but think they might be gay. The rabbit's awful effeminate and the wolf is really friendly towards him half the time. Theres a certain sexual tension between the two that I don't see in Similar American cartoons like Tom and Jerry or Roadrunner.
