They're not opinions at all. They based their thoughts on consistency, immersion and satisfaction. All of which can be measured and applied to criteria to access objective quality.
There has never been an instance where Mauler and his friends have ever resorted to subjective opinions. They have always made sure their critiques* are objective and factual.

Actually, MauLer admits that he didn't actually see Avatar, but heard good things about it, and reserved his full opinion until he actually watched it. E;R constantly told him LoK was shit, and so if MauLer ever does watch it, he'd probably be swayed by E;R.
Rags on the other hand, watched a few clips, and decided that it was shit. And when Rags decides something, he will never, ever change his mind. I remember he legit got into an argument about which way to get wood in Minecraft was most effective.
MauLer is willing to admit when he's wrong. Rags' ego prevents him from ever admitting that he's wrong about something, and will usually align himself to whatever MauLer thinks to make himself look smarter.
TL;DR: MauLer's videos are too long, but he's an overal decent guy. Rags is a textbook example of an NPC.
