>he shits himself in that chair This is quite possible.
Considering that he is also "neck down paralyzed" while having full control over his right hand while not his head. Its questionable on what biological basis the writers operated while writing his limitations.
Also the subject of shit is never addressed in western fiction.
Cooper Sullivan
*coof* what's going on in here?
Matthew Sanders
Overs seas of blood sails the Ivory Web Filling all souls with fear and dread Thought it's been many years since I roamed these seas NONE shall have that which is Black Jack Lee's!
Could not all of his accidents be survived by chance? >This guy I'm rewatching the series now and I need to get to this guy.
William Nguyen

>This guy was immortal >was immortal >was >was >was
Did he stop being immortal or something? Why did you write "was" then?
Eli Perry
Based, thanks.
Angel Nelson
>I forgot this existed. Semi the same user here. Vaguely remembered it, there is no time like now to rewatch a show like that now.
>but it seemed to vanish from the air forever. Never understood that. After watching the 2 episode it turned out I remembered the plot of it and I used the wiki to see all the episodes with Surd they where great really great.
I'm now rewatchign the show.
Ryan Edwards
I only had access to two VHS cassettes obtained from a flea mart as a kid but I liked it a lot.
Colton Clark
No problem, thanks for thanking it I appreciate that.
Josiah Baker
Thanks, man. I was wondering if there was a way to replace the old TV rips I was keeping around.
Anthony Walker
When I saw his debut episode as a kid I thought it was going to have to do with the primal rage video game where the dinosaurs beat each other up. Shame it didn't.
Sebastian Brown
>I only had access to two VHS cassettes obtained from a flea mart as a kid but I liked it a lot. Tell us your sorry it must be fascination.
Man, I was doing it wrong. The writers could potentially find a way to bring him back but it took a fucking point blank nuke sent to the past to "retire" him. Not as cool, but I still liked his hamminess in a series known for already hammy villains.
Christian Sanchez
Thanks for thanking me it I appreciate that. I did some searching yesterday.
I downloaded like 4 torrents an the "Complete" edition did have low quality clips the DVD rips where better. Also I will be merging all the extra stuff from the "Complete" edition like TV commercials etc into the new folder.
You know what? If one of you make a free mega account (I can not be arsed to set up with a temporary e-mail) and give me access to it I upload my created folder to mega.
What do you think about that?
Anthony Hill
>primal rage video game >Shame it didn't. user IP rights make this extra difficult to ever happen. Fun fact this is why in the JQ universe Scooby-Doo is actually a cartoon that people watch because the IP is owned by the same company.
Same reason why batman and superman get crossovers all the time.
Alexander Barnes
One tape had the elephant graveyard as its first episode, the other started with the Black Jack Lee one. The other episodes on them were one with a submarine crew attacking whaling ships, one about an alien (?) artifact that the men in black wanted, one about the philosopher's stone (this was great) and one where Surd hacks Questworld and Jonny and Jessie have to fight him. I think that's it.
Robert Morgan
Thanks for telling us. What was your impression of the cartoon?
>one about an alien (?) And this is user why everyone rewatches stuff from their childhood to see what exactly we did watch and how our memories align to the actual facts.
Alexander Evans
The philosopher stone and elephant graveyard ones were awesome.
Luis Fisher
lmao m8 I am fully aware of IP rights. I'm just saying a New Adventures of Johnny Quest episode with fighting dinosaurs and the end of the world would have been cool.
Carson Butler
>What was your impression of the cartoon? Well like I said, I liked it. The people felt like people and shit. >guy getting stomped to death by an elephant >guy going insane and losing his soul due to material greed That is some mighty fine children's programming, yes.
John Stewart
>That is some mighty fine children's programming, yes. Back when being cool was almost as important as status quo.
Elijah Gray
He didnt really exemplify rage did he? Not exactly Khorne from Warhammer here.
William Moore
IM HERE TO COOF enjoy the gift fgtd
James Ramirez
>He didnt really exemplify rage did he? Yep. He was like some stoic preacher with the bible.
Did he write that book himself? Did he quote the things he wrote himself?
Leo White
I recommend you watch the main villain episodes they are extra good.
user, don't you know? The book just has pictures of his family in it
Xavier Howard
Holy shit memories are flooding back. i think I have seen this episode as a kid and forgotten all about it. i remember somewhere seeing spinning space stations and this guy is pointing out its a sniping wheel.
This show only existed because Ted Turner really wanted his own Power Rangers.
It got an insane amount of hype when it aired and got shown on all three Turner channels. It also had a million different marketing tie-ins.
Michael Campbell
I fail to see the connection to Power Rangers though
Gavin Carter
I mean in the sense that he wanted his own major kids action franchise.
Nathaniel Johnson
The show is really good however. Why did it not take off like crazy?
Jack Perez
Probably executive meddling and lack of marketing? The awkward as hell CG sequences?
Gabriel Scott
I hope we get another kid action franchise, most action stuff is completely invaded by Shonen stuff from Japan, you don't get this sense of adventure out of Japanese stuff they either completely focus on character interaction and miss world building or are unable to stick the landing on short adventure stories.
Joseph Cook
But user the most successful series of all time is a shounen action adventure.
In any place that isn't Japan it failed to stick its landing.
Mexicans don't care about it, they don't even give a shit outside of "lol tits keep getting bigger cuate". It's kinda sad when the most hardcore Shonen consumer base rejects you this badly.
Easton Powell
Many of the episodes were like Xfiles.
>realistic villain What?
Ryder Ross
It's the pacing and topics of the stories, they are varied enough to have at least one work for you and all most all have good pacing and interesting enough characters for one to get invested.
Even if the illusion of danger is broken by the heroes always surviving they do play the threats as something serious in universe wich just keeps you entertained. Some just wanted profit those that were fleshed out had enough cues for you as the audience to guess how they will act without them telling you, it's quite simple and yet I find most modern cartoons fail at it hard or just try to make sympathethic villains for good boy points.
Luke Walker
>I any place that isn't Japan it failed to stick its landing You say that, but the numbers...
Ryder Gray
In Japan. But yes it's a fucking crazy hit in Japan and a long lasting one to boot.
I wonder if we will ever get a small documentary on Real like we did with JQ. youtu.be/4D4N2ybJFoE
I love when we get Intel on how stuff gets produced.
Landon Russell
He doesn't have a broken neck. He huffed some nerve gas and got shot.
Justin Morris
>executive meddling Strange. The plots so far are above the writing of films like die hard. Did it go downhill in S2 or something? Even if yes, why is it not more remembered?
>The awkward as hell CG sequences? Say this to /3/ they are drawn to early CG because it has "soul" ; no I'm not making this up.
Gavin Stewart
Dude, you missed how hard they lost their shit with the Jimmy neutron pilots.
I can see the importance of early CG but damn some people worship it.
He specifically says that he does not have the gas with him because he is not an idiot and its in the city. He tries to activate it (remotely in the buildings in the city) before the SWAT shoots him. They where aiming for his head so .... (???)
The implication is that his spine was shattered by a bullet?
The show never specifically says what his disability actually is.
So ... ?
There is also no gas on screen when this happens or others in the same room reacting to the any gas.
I agree it be far more poetic and realistic when they shot a canister of his own gas and he got fucked up this way its nerve gas in the show.
For me early CGI looks different and this is important. Like something you have never seen before. And I like the CGI sequences a lot.
Lincoln Rogers
>What? Meaning that: 1) the antagonist operates in a realistic world not a lot of magic (can be SF) contrast Star VS where magic is a main part of the show. Meaning that the plot would not be far from 80s action movies.
2) The villain feels like a real life person with motivations and is realistic in this way. Contrast Steven Universe antagonists where its all bla bla fee fees.
Brody Green
Most motivations were revenge though. Some were pretty much grounded in their setting and understandable.
Oliver Walker
Ah yes the realistic world of magical monsters and whales being mind controlled by hacking their echolocation via WHALENET. Or real life villains like a man with a homemade crime religion bible wanting to cause mass extinction. Or just one-off guys wanting to burn down the orphanage for profit.
William Martinez
>Or real life villains like a man with a homemade crime religion bible wanting to cause mass extinction This is more common then you think. Also cults and religious crazies exist in reality. No idea where you where going with this one.
>Ah yes the realistic world of magical monsters I give you that. They exist in the world. However how many of the main recurring villains did use magical monsters in their attacks and episodes? You notice I did say realistic villains not realistic world.
>by hacking their echolocation via WHALENET. True. I did stretch the SF part of the villains. And controlling the wheals was a common theme in fiction form this era see the centurions have the same idea where the main evil guy mind controlled the wheals (?Written by the same guy?).
The idea is that excluding SF elements these villains can be translated and function in James Bond or realistic action movies. Wanting to get money or you release a nerve gas if not payed is realistic my man.
Try doing the same for villains form star VS or adventure time its next to impossible. You squint your eyes a little to the magical hacking and it all works out.
i liked it bought the complete series on prime too bad there will never be any more JQ
Jason Williams
its funny i feel like this show wouldve been a massive hit if turner had allowed it to air syndicated on the broadcast networks, like hanna barbera used to do before he bought them
when this show was new i think most of the kids in my trailer park didnt have cable
