Are you happy the era of "it's good because it has lore!" cartoons is over?
Are you happy the era of "it's good because it has lore!" cartoons is over?
Yes. Millennials have been cancerous to the animation industry. Hopefully the redemption arc begins with us zoomers
>Implying SU isn't beloved because of the characters first and foremost
Enjoy Thundercats Road because that's all you have left.
There has never been a "good era" of cartoons. For every Batman TAS there are ten Street Sharks. For every Dexters Lab there are ten Chalk Zones.
Thundercats Roar is millennial soiboy shit
Only show that used it's lore properly was GF. AT spent too much time giving Marcie screentime and SU forgot that it has a plot when trying to pander gays and lesbians.
Street Sharks was jawsome you swine
>ChalkZone is bad
Infinity Train only just began and Adventure Times revival is going to be more loreshit than it's ever been before
Couldn't you apply that to everything?
Yes but it’s going to replaced by something worse. The era of the ironic meme cartoon will begin.
>Infinity Train only just began
And? Do you think it will be any different from the other failed lore shows? It won't.
If your point is that loreshit shows aren't over, they are. There may be more loreshit on the way but those shows won't develop the same following as their predecessors.
>STEVEN UNIVERSE
stop this meme please mate you know its trash and you only watched it because youre a closest faggot
>"it's good because it has lore!"
I hate Avatar for propagating this meme.
>why does my cartoon have world building reeee
Infinity Train is not a "deep lore" story where it starts out one way and then expands into some mythos. It's just a story with a beginning an end, like Over the Garden Wall. Something that narrative-driven stories are SUPPOSED to be.
Nobody said that. But there are people who think the bad writing in these shows is excusable because of the world building.
>zoomers take over animation
>everything looks like diary of a wimpy kid and apple and onion for ten years
can't wait!
>it's bad because it has lore!
>waaah I just want my randumb cartoons where nothing ever matters and characters commit the same mistakes 1000 times!
why is Yas Forums so childish
>uses SU twice in the OP image
could you at least put some effort into your bait?
It's just one guy, everything that actually gets popular here has worldbuilding and running plotlines
90s had higher ratio of quality to shit than what came before.
But that's because Yas Forums has shit taste. There's a reason why Spongebob and Ed Edd n Eddy are timeless while AT has been forgotten about. These shows might be "hip" but they won't survive the gauntlet of time
Or worst, it will revert back to gross kindergarten humor 2005-2007 era CN.
>Over the Garden Wall
Aren't the first episodes very episodic? It may be the reason I got really bored while watching them
Nah it’s XD so randomz zoomershit just like TTG.
It's not bad by virtue of the lore alone, it's bad because the lore always amounts to nothing. There's never any payoff. It's like a joke buildup with no punchline.
>it's good because it's popular!
Very lemming mentality.
OP is saying people only call a show good because it has lore, not that lore is bad.
This coronavirus is really bringing out the illiterate children lately.
One is Steven Universe. The other is Steven Universe Future.
They're objectively different shows as much as Dragonball and Dragonball Z or Full House and Fuller House.
underrated post
it was made by a millennial manbun soi who probably voted for hillary in 2016. Same with TTG (creators, all born in the 80s, objectively the most cancerous decade)
Zoomers have yet to become creators yet, so we don't really know how our shows will actually look like, but considering that zoomers are on average more right-wing than millennials we're gonna be witnessing way more kino
>zoomers are on average more right-wing than millennials
Zoomers are more aware than millennials that right wing politics are ruining their future. You have to be either rich or a brainlet retard to willfully support right.
Changing the name does not a new show make. Dragon Ball and Z are both from a single manga series. Fuller House came out decades after the original series with a partially new cast, Future is literally just a glorified season 6.
There's really no point putting Steven Universe twice in a 4-panel image when you could put something like Star Vs. which is basically the 4th member of the group anyway.
cope, leftist
Why are you telling me this as if it's not an objective fact that CN treats SU and SUF as two series? Go send a letter to CartoonNetwork, I don't give a shit.
>Non binary generation
>Right-wing
>assuming right wing means kino
>acting like Zoomers arent sleeping radicalized lefties
>t. brainlet Yas Forumstard
Star Vs was never part of the "new era of lore" cartoons. It was a result of it, much like Owl House and Amphibia.
Not him but CN is a company, they will like to use every chapter as a single season if that increased their value or give them more cash
SUF is still considered a separate production.
Yep, truly a representative thread for /copol/
Autism.
It's autism to deny reality that SU and SUF are considered two different shows by the company that made it.
>Adventure Time
>over
Yeah, about that...
Yes, these shows fell into the trap that the original Teen Titans did - they're comedy shows trying to drama and it doesn't fit. Dramatic shows that have jokes sometimes are much better because they don't betray their tone as much.
>it's ok when Timmverse did it
>it's ok when Ben 10 did it
>it's ok when Kids Next Door did it
I'm happy the corporate social structure is collapsing. I hope our economy fully dissolves into the denatured alcohol of fiat currency so that there's no chance of anything similar to it cropping up in my lifetime.
Bitch, what? The multi-part dramatic episodes of Teen Titans are great. Just as good as the goofy animation changes and slapstick comedy episodes. You can have them both.
Teen Titans GO can actually be funny sometimes tho, Thundercats Roar has no redeeming qualities and is actually is what people perceive Teen Titans GO as
>considering that zoomers are on average more right-wing-
You are joking right?
Now I feel really wary about pitching my series without getting mocked for being lore-based.
Admittedly I haven't watched the series intentionally in a while, and I can't watch it now because I have an "essential job". But from my recollection it didn't seem like it meshed well all the time.
I like lore, just make the tone and designs more serious.
I liked GF and early AT though.
It's fine if Cartoon Network considers them two separate shows, but why would you need to put them twice if you're listing different shows from the genre? It really doesn't accomplish much. Granted, I'll admit this is just being really pedantic either way.
Star Vs. came later than the other three, and probably was inspired by them, but I would argue it's not wrong to group them all together. It did run together with Gravity Falls for a year.
Teen Titans was an action show first and a comedy second. Each season had an arc focusing on a different Titan. The first several episodes were all "serious" ones. While the comedy was an integral part of the show, to the point it even had a second version of the theme song for comedic episodes, it definitely wasn't a comedy show like Teen Titans Go is.
I recently played Xenoblade Chronicles, and that game taught me that worldbuilding=/=lore.
The game laids it bare for you to know, and it doesn't take away from the story or the worldbuilding any bit. The only lore is the extinct Giant race a character belongs to, that's irrelevant to the plot.
The story is so magnificently easy to grasp and understand, yet captivating, that there's absolutely no need for a prequel or sequel, it's awesome.
The only way they had to do sequel is by having it take place on another dimension, loosely tied by some characters and plot points.
I like cartoons with lore, but the problem s that too many of them don't know how to carry themselves properly.
Honestly, I feel like Gravity Falls did the best job of the 3 listed.
Pfff, implying that Infinity Train gets any ratings. It's not a popular show. Maybe it could've been had it come out back in the mid 2010s, but it took too long
Maybe because there was barely any plot in GF. Say what you will about AT and SU, but at least they took some risks and had some ambition. GF decided to end just when the story was starting
The stuff with the Beast and the Woodcutter was set up in the first episode. A few of the early episodes could be called episodic but there's still the underlying plot of Wert, Greg and Beatrice trying to find Adelaide.
What makes you think it's over? People are still making deepest lore cartoons, Owl House, Amphibia, Infinity Train, Kipo, Glitch Techs showed a few hints it might devolve into that.
Probably some other shit I'm forgetting, lore shit isn't gone, and it didn't make up the majority of cartoons in the 2010s in the first place
>the gen of pre-school trannies and Greta
>more conservative
>If you don't want your identity and rights stripped from you, you are either rich or a brainlet retard
>brainlet retard
Zoomers are more like the next Gen X. They're way too disillusioned by the last generations politics to really care.
This but unironically.
Diary of a wimpy kid, art style wise is something I'd really want more of. The writing in the movies (haven't read the books) is bad, but the drawn segments have a really appealing style.
And because all cartoons are created by antisocial misfits and weirdos exercising their tedious obsessions, all the cartoons created by zoomers will have characters who rant endlessly about Jews, Peterson, Evola and Guenon. It’ll be a new golden age.
>everything that actually gets popular here
>popular here
>here
Yas Forums has notoriously shit taste, and some of the most popular cartoons currently airing are lucky to get threads once a month and even when they do it's just retards screeching about how bad they are.
The result of literal tranny brainwashing in the form of mediocre cartoons made by unabashed degenerates
So, you're joking right?
>some of the most popular cartoons currently airing are lucky to get threads once a month
Because the most popular cartoons are the ones aimed at and enjoyed by kids the most and this board is 18+
