Found a word press for a community that goes back to the 70s. It just catalogs furry related characters in scuba gear from cartoons, movies, commercials, a t-shirt, whatever. It has a large enough audience to apparently hold sales on a decent amount of merchandise.

>community that goes back to the 70s.
I love time machine shit like that. Makes me wonder how deep the rabbit hole goes
>goes back to the 70s
>scuba gear
Well what in the fuck have we got here?
>I love time machine shit like that.
Likewise
Interesting find, OP, although how did you come across it?
Giantess thread
Some guy misspelled 'scuba' as 'scooba' so I went to look for a picture of Scooby-Doo in scuba gear
I've accidentally run into that blog in the past, and it's weird, but I'm kind of impressed by the size of the guy's collection. If collection's the right word for it.
How do you know this has been an underground thing since the 70s?
>Makes me wonder how deep the rabbit hole goes
There rumors from old time furries from the 70s and 80s that modern furryism from a Californian sex cult that operated during late 70s to early 80s.
Here's the welcome post. This was started on September 11th
>Hello, everyone. I’m known as RagingOceans, and I bid you welcome to my cartoon scuba blog. I decided to make this blog because there didn’t really seem to be anything else like it, especially where this will focus; the furry community.
>While I’m not a hardcore furry, I do sometimes participate in the community, and hope that the aquaphiles in particular will find something to enjoy here, especially as time passes and I make more posts.
>I’ve been collecting instances of scuba diving furries in media for a long time now (over 15,000 individual pieces as of this post), and I’ve decided to start showing off some of these pieces to the world at large. Obviously, I won’t be showing everything I have, but I hope at least some of you will get a kick out of this, and will follow this blog.
>To give you an idea of what will be shown here, the spectrum of diving here will be somewhat broad, from full scuba, to snorkeling, to free-diving. As a general rule though, characters here will be wearing at least a mask. Also, generally speaking, no helmet-based setups will be seen here.
>A couple of other things you won’t be seeing here are adult art (do I really have to explain this), or ANY sort of fan art or original characters, UNLESS it’s with the full consent of the owners of said art and/or characters.
>Also, this goes without saying, but all content here is copyrighted and trademarked to their owners.
>With all that said, I intend on making my first real post soon, so I hope you’re ready to jump in when I do.
I was going by the Scooby Doo sale but now that I think about it he's referring to Scooby Doo's 50th. Although that brings up most questions for me. One guy alone collected all of this merchandise and screen shots possibly by himself for years. I hope there's a larger under ground community
>aquaphiles
I know not everything ending in -phile is sexual, but unless I know that the specific word means something else, I’m gonna assume it’s a fetish.
Can anybody confirm or deny aquaphile being the proper name of a fetish? I know there’s a fetish for pretty much everything, but I don’t think absolutely all of them have names that weren’t already being used in a different meaning, like hemophilia being a medical condition or organisms that thrive in places most things die in (like waterbears, those can survive a lot) being called extremophiles.
Found his deviantart and furaffinity. Looking around it looks like there are other people in people into this even asking if characters have been submerged.

That doesn’t exactly answer my question, but okay.
It makes me uneasy to see the different effects autism can have on interests. I mean I haven't went deeper than Chris Chan but in general all the furry community stuff just makes me uncomfortable. I feel bad for those people but I also feel something else I can't describe.
Maybe the fact that this could be anyone of us. People on Yas Forums are already riding the line of obsession with cartoons and comics.
Apparently the Smurf baby shit goes all the way back to at least the 80's
I vaguely remember a thread about that stuff awhile back. Don't feel like digging in the archives though.
A little of that but I think the feeling I get is unique to these kinds of overly specific things. Not just furries, and not just fetishes (although it is at least 50% fetish autism that make me uneasy)
You don't need to dig through the archives, we talk about the Smurfs whenever cringe comes up
Yas Forums's got some weird fuckers sure, but outside of a few outliers there seems to be just enough self awareness going to keep your average poster from going "entire website dedicated to furry scooba gear merch"-tier
It doesn't go back to the 70s. The 50th anniversary comment is clearly a reference to the first episode of Scooby-Doo airing.
He mentions being in his 20s in this post.
As an autistic, I can say that having a special interest can be a torture sometimes. There are times where I'd like to be interested in something else but can't.
That's not cringe that's hot
that didnt make me cringe that made me laugh
Me too. I know the feel all too well. I'm obsessed with collecting VHS tapes recorded from the TV and I have way too many of them. Literally thousands. I wish I could focus on something else.
At least you don't you through many different interests then get sick of them, leaving collections to gather dust unlike me.
Turning into one of these kinda guys was my biggest fear for a long time. I would read the Rusty Brown comic storytimes on here and just hope that I don't become like him. I guess having the awareness to fear this means that it wasn't gonna happen.
>tfw just autistic with no special interest
I envy you.
As for in particular, have you considered selling them or giving them out to charity?
No, I'm still too attached to them.
>Martin Crocodile Skink
I'd rather be autistic and enjoy myself
>I hope there's a larger under ground community
Dude furries have subcultures for everything.
Name a sport, there's a furry community for it.
There was a wiki for Harry and the Haunted House that was full of weird fanon, including backstories for all the characters and scripts and music for a TV show.
I checked the wiki and someone fixed it. Maybe it's archived somewhere...
I am thankful i am self aware enough to hide my power level from everyone else, my biggest fear is to end up like him
>Wanting to fuck a dog with Seth McFarlane real speaking voice
In my case, it's more I have an interest I wish I could talk about with others but that number is extremely low. I'm lucky I even have two people to talk about TV content ratings with.
You've got to elaborate
It started out as a general interest in how the TV content ratings system worked, specifically why episodes from the same series had different ratings attributed to them; i.e. one episode is TV-PG, the other TV-14. Soon I had enough of an idea of what pieces of objectionable content were responsible for what ratings that I moved on to applying TV ratings of my own choosing to episodes of programs that didn't air on TV, mostly anime that never got runs on Adult Swim or SyFy.
>that I moved on to applying TV ratings of my own choosing to episodes of programs that didn't air on TV, mostly anime that never got runs on Adult Swim or SyFy.
that is actually pretty fucking neat
yeah user, got a link to more ratings?
Kek, sounds fun
It really is. But where my interest gets really autistic is the screencaps, like that in and pic related (my most recent to date). After discovering that images of content rating watermarks - even the rare TV-MAD ones - existed on Wikimedia Commons in 2014, I started photoshopping the content rating images into various anime screencaps, as if to emulate them airing on TV; specifically [as], hence why the ratings look the way they do. I don't do this with every anime I rate, and for those I do, I limit the screencaps I select to the first 16 seconds of the episode, and the first 16 after where the commercial breaks go/look like they should go. It's a step beyond just listing the ratings out and for numerous reasons I can see how it would be too much for even those who have a passing interest in ratings, but being a legitimately diagnosed Aspie it's just something I like to do regarding this niche interest that's still several steps more normal than 90% of what pops up in your average DeviantArt cringe thread.
I've got several folders worth of screencaps on my computer, but here are some completed Imgur albums I put together before they screwed users over on giving album images specific names.

This is actually pretty cool. The TV rating system makes me feel really nostalgic and those ratings are on point
Fuck off Mike stoklasa
thanks for reminding me of this autist
Jesus. I'm exactly like this about a fictional antagonist that only exists in an animated movie from 2017. As soon as I watched the movie I have been different ever since, down to the point that I now have a "fictive" of that character living in my head and have for the past 2.5 years. I have a little altar with incense and everything. It colors literally every part of my life, down to my taste in music, fashion, everything; I don't even know if the people closest to me realize how deep it goes. It gives me great personal power and self-actualization, but part of me knows it's the most autistic thing ever. Like fucking , though, I've found myself saying "If this is wrong, I don't want to be right" many times...
Which movie was it?
I really want to know how he reacted to that stupid "Brian is dead" arc.
>2017
its not something with multicolored friends, equine, and magic is it?
I scanned a list of animated films from 2017 and that's the only one that really jumped out at me with his specifications in mind. Safe bet with how he didn't name the character.
no offence but as someone who has recently become very obsessed with a minor Yas Forums character I really hope I don't end up like you.
well at least he can rest easy knowing hes not the only one, theres a whole board of likeminded people for him
It was this, wasn't it? imdb.com
Yas Forums does. Pic related is one example of an user who has spent thousands of hours having the same level of autism.
there was also the infamous philmarilion on /sp/
the craziest thing about the whole saga was UTV the tripfag barely revealed anything about himself in his time on /sp/
No and no. Phew! I've never been into Horse Show, though I can see where you're coming from, and I have a soft spot for the fandom because I can kinda relate. No furry stuff, though I did enjoy the first Zootopia. It was a pretty popular mainstream movie! The pic I posted is hint enough, and now I'm freaking myself out...
None taken! I don't blame you. I'm still able to live a normal, happy life if that helps though!
What character is it? You're anonymous, don't be a dip.
This place is a breeding ground for the autistic and retarded.
>It was a pretty popular mainstream movie! The pic I posted is hint enough, and now I'm freaking myself out...
I'm getting nothing.
I didnt think it was I was just razzing
Holy shit as is a fanfic about an anthro bunny and fox falling in love got 28th in popularity for 2017(according the the IMDB list I used to find it)
This one is great, it's like the Sonic OC cringe compilation of people's made up hurricanes and storms, sperging out over how much damage they cause:

Trust me, whoever it is, its unlikely to be someone too out there. For over twenty years I have been in love with a Batman villain.
