Still no Gravity Falls sequel
Other urls found in this thread:
There was Lost Legends
>Good. I perfer conculsions as opposed to seasonal rot
Why would there be?
The story was told. It had a good beginning, middle, and end. There was room for improvement, but "shoot, some things could have been done better" isn't a good reason to undo a solid ending.
No sequel needed.
And there never will be.
seasonal rot........i like it! im stealing this way of saying that.
Gravity Falls? More like This Show Sucks Balls!
Good. Didn't like it or its characters and most of the jokes, so i don't want it back. I consider it a dated product of its time in some areas.
Watch a new show, you are the reason why media is state of stagnation.
Chowder? More like ratings flop
Reminder that GF wouldn't been nearly as popular if it had come out before Rick and Morty. The entirety of Season 1 of GF aired before R&M premiered.
Doesn't really need a sequel season, but a one-shot "return to Gravity Falls next summer" TV movie would be a fun little thing to have. Tie up a few loose ends, fire off a few of those unused Chehkov guns (was that key Fake President gave them ever used for anything? I can't recall, also those Blind Eye memory recordings), and generally just have a self-contained adventure. I'm sure even Alex could handle that, just make sure we bring back Chapman also to write the jokes, don't need to have Hirsch and his "my target audience of preteens is dumb dumb lol I'm so meta... btw donate to my abortion charity and #VoteBlueNoMatterWho :^)" buffoonery. Also don't let him ruin Pacifica again either.
Ever notice how ever since Gravity Falls beat Adventure Time in that "show of the decade" tourney we had we've had a massive surge in threads and post claiming this show was overrated/never good/etc? And Gravity Falls didn't even win that tournament, you don't see a bunch of GF fans trying to diminish OTGW's impact (Actually, I don't see anyone talking about that show much at all anymore).
How in the actual fuck did this show beat out Adventure Time ? Are people that tasteless nowadays ?
>I consider it a dated product of its time in some areas.
How so?
Because AT sucked when it aired and time has done it no favors.
You gotta be a true normie to think that GF is a better show. They're not in the same league, not even the same freaking sport. AT is superior
The emphasis on lolrandom comedy and overall vibe just screams 2012 imo
It is so damn easy to make you retards reveal your power level. Even SU trannies are capable of being stealthier.
I've been saying the show was overrated far before that shit
It's sad that people conside this show's comedy to be on par with Simpsons. As far as i know, Simpsons didn't use orchestral cues and corny sound effects during conversations or at the end of a punchline. Comedy works better when the interactions without background music
>LE SNEED DOHHH AMERICANS ARE SO DUMB *strangles Bart*
truly the height of comedy
Just tell me. Why do you think that GF is better ? What makes it a superior show to you ?
Because AT went to shit halfway through. And while GF took a nosedive on the final quarter, it never quite crashed and burned.
I don't connect the two at all.
That's like saying Littlest Pet Shop wouldn't have been as popular if it came out after Voltron
Hirsch probably dreams of being able to write amazing scripts like Marge vs Monorail, Cape Feare, Mr Plow, Rosebud or Deep space homer.
Whatever. I still think that Hirsch is a guy who just got lucky. I'm 100% convinced that GF wouldn't been popular if it came out after R&M
good
Better set piece and character design. Better backgrounds. Better voice acting. Better jokes. Better fan-show interaction and activities. Didn't cuck the main character. Didn't turn Pacifica and Wendy into lesbians out of nowhere for wokeness points. Didn't launch the career of a tranny dyke who continued to ruin cartoons for the remainder of the decade. Didn't flop toward the end and becoming a ratings laughing stock. Tie in comics were way superior.
The only thing I'll give AT is that it had slightly better world building, but they squandered even that.
Isn't Owl House the spiritual sequel?
To you maybe. Even later AT eps like Jake the Brick, Islands or Root Beer Guy are better than nearly the entirety of GF
>Why do you think that GF is better
It was advertised to him by corporate so it has to be better
The only things i agree are better backgrounds and character designs, at least for the non human characters. Everything else is completely wrong imo. Don't have the energy to explain why
Mabel acting random for no reason or Soos being a retard ain't very funny, you know ?
>Don't have the energy to explain why
The "dude trust me" of rebuttals.
Anyway, not sure why you're even here if you hate this show and think Adventure Time is much better. Make a thread for Adventure Time and discuss it. It has a new series coming up after all that has about zero hype and needs your help building it. Adventure Time had way more seasons and material to work off of, so I'm not really understanding why Gravity Falls still generates more discussion if Adventure Time was so much better.
People comparing Gravity Falls with Adventure Time are the same kind of idiots that once compared Walking Dead to Breaking Bad in the early 2010s
Even Rick and Morty is better than GF. Memes aside, Pickle Rick is a funnier and wittier script than most GF's scripts
all shallow AF takes. I'm noticing how the writing or the monster-of-the-week format aren't present in your apologia.
>monster of the week bad
>monster of the "three episode arc that gets status quo reset and nothing changes" good
Am I the only one who thinks GF was too short? It was well paced until the second half of season 2 when shit went off the rails and they blew their load too quickly.
Still more ambitious and risky than what Hirsch did. AT actually pushed some boundaries of what you'd expect from a kids show, GF didn't
And it would've been shorter if it wasn't for Disney. Hirsch wanted the show to end after Season 1 with that cliffhanger, they had to convince him to make another season
>Hirsch wanted the show to end after Season 1 with that cliffhanger
Why's that?
What boundaries did they push exactly? Shit like building up the Lich just to turn him into a baby or teasing PB/Finn or FP/Finn just to cuck him isn't exactly pushing boundaries.
What boundaries did GF push exactly ?
Well, first you need to define what exactly boundary pushing is in this instance, since you brought it up. Edgy, "jokes that only adults get"? Because plenty of cartoons had those long before AT. "How did they get that past the censors?" moments? Because GF forced quite a bit of those through (bleeding taxidermy, or a deer's teeth falling out and other Bill creepy shit). Explain what you mean rather than just praising your dead show with a bunch of meaningless platitudes.
Like what, lesbians? Big deal.
Even the deer's teeth wasn't so bad because he gets them back afterwards, which ruins the joke. Invader Zim didn't make it so that when Zim steals organs or rips eyeballs, he gives them back afterwards
Also, compare Ice King with McGucket and then tell me which show handled the subject with more maturity
They were both annoying and shitty characters?
McGucket was. Ice King is a great character
>Actually, I don't see anyone talking about that show much at all anymore
You know the rule: if Yas Forums doesn't talk about it, it's probably good.
Probably stress
Indeed. They would rather talk about shit like Owl House or Star vs instead of something actually good like AT, Korra or early Simpsons
That's bullshit. Season 1 only had 20 eps. He had no right getting stressed to the point of wanting to end it there
It brought back 22-minute episodes.
I see you're missing the point, not exactly unexpected from a lower-range midwit like yourself, but if a cartoon's worth is apparently how many edgy grossout jokes it can cram in per minute, why not just watch Ren and Stimpy? You'll fit right in with that fanbase and its "We pushed the envelope and invented everything in cartoons today!" mantra.
They were both comic relief characters that were given a tragic backstory, but Ice King more so because he was the actual primary villain for a while, while McGucket was a tertiary character and not even a bad person even in his diminished mental state. McGucket wasn't meant to pull heart strings, he was not a sentimental character, he was meant to show what Bill could do to people if his power was allowed to go unchecked.
Adventure Time is Walking Dead in this analogy and Gravity Falls is Breaking Bad.
Still better than any of those unfunny shorts that GF had, of which there were more than 10 for some reason. youtube.com
You gotta be fucking kidding me, right ?
Ah, truly, we're all overlooking forgotten masterpieces like Super Duper Sumos, Butt Ugly Martians, Mega Babies, or Sanjay and Craig.
>something actually good like AT, Korra
Ok, you're trolling is getting a little too obvious mate. Dial it back a little.
