Anyone else thinks that he's one of the worst Pixar characters ? He's not interesting in the slightest, none of his acomplishments felt earned, and his clumsiness was more awkward than endearing imo
Anyone else thinks that he's one of the worst Pixar characters ? He's not interesting in the slightest...
His whole transition to becoming 'best waiter ever' was contrived as fuck. It was obvious Bird wrote himself into a corner with Linguini's character arc and didn't know how to naturally resolve it.
Still a good movie.
Yeah, he was an ungrateful cunt with zero foresight
>a rat uses a human as a puppet to become a master chef
Come on, man, a big budget movie can't have a premise that stupid.
>Female character is clumsy
>Muh waifu!
>I want to protect her smile!
>She's so cute!
>Male character is clumsy
>I don't like this character
>He's weird
>Why'd the make him so clumsy?
Explain this Yas Forums.
He didn't even bother to learn or type down the recipes, yet he needlessly kicks Remy out the night before the critic comes, even if the critic could easily ruin the restaurant and his employees with a single review.
The only foreshadowing to the rollerblade thing was a blink and you'll miss it moment during a montage. That could've used a rewrite
Yeah, he was a faggot.
Makes more sense why the restaurant staff would walk out on him. It wasn't just that he deceived them, but his actions reflect on their careers as well and he put them all at risk by not actually learning from Remy.
Just bringing a rat into the kitchen was already putting all of their jobs at risk.
Women are meant to be protected, men are supposed to be skilled in everything they do.
Didn't you get the memo?
I detest cowardice and clumsiness as a character trait in either sex, because they are not endearing, cute, or funny traits insomuch as they are completely annoying to witness. The fact that so few characters come around to resolving their cowardice/clumsiness is just the icing on the shitty little cake of terrible characterization.
Autism
Linguini wasnt a coward just very clueless.
I agree. Linguini being a clumsy dork was solely for comic relief, and it missed the mark imo.
ill go to your house and shit on your porch at night, faggot
Would you trust a rat that was using you to steal food?
Most of Yas Forums is female. A clumsy woman is relatable, a clumsy man is beta.
Name ONE clumsy relatable woman.
None of his acomplishment felt earned at all. Him getting the dishwasher job was because of his mother's letter, the whole soup thing and becoming a popular cook was all thanks to Remy. Also, kissing Colette and becoming the owner of the restaurant was all because of Remy too.
Gwenpool
At least wait for the critic's situation to be over before kicking him out. He only had to wait a day
Wait for what for the rat to ruin your reputation before stealing your remaining food? remy was not someone you could trust.
Clumsy guys are cute, him being a weakvoiced wimp is offputting as fuck.
He was literally a vehicle for Remy so who cares?
I just don't get the obsession with the roller-skates. It was endearing as a cute, quirky thing he shared with this uptight gf but they kept bringing it back. If I went to an expensive fancy restaurant and my server skated up to me I'd walk the fuck out.
He should have at least learned enough from fucking muscle memory and watching this rat work the kitchen to handle being a low level chef for a hole-in-the-wall bistro.
>If I went to an expensive fancy restaurant and my server skated up to me I'd walk the fuck out.
You sound like the kind of uptight cunt the movie was taking a stand against in the first place
clumsy retards like Linguini are too relatable which triggers the average Yas Forums user who doesn't want to be reminded of his shortcomings and instead wants to see himself as a manly badass
Fuck this guy he didn't deserve this.
He's just K.I.T.T. to Remy's Michael Knight. He's fine, just don't approve of him winning over edgy French girl
I still never understood when all the staff abandoned him;
>was it because they didn't want to risk their reputations for a rat
>was it because they lost respect for him when he appeared to fail under pressure and come up with some stupid excuse involving a rat rather than take responsibility and lead successfully
>was it because they thought he went literally fucking insane to pull a rat out, put it on his head, and act like it was controlling him to be a good chef
???
He certainly didn't. I doubt he'd tried to start something with her if it wasn't for the rat.
All of them. He deceived them and put their jobs on the line for his own benefit.
This. Bird made a far better job writing Remy and Ego's arcs than him
I like how his character model was reused for that elf in onward, just made blue, different clothes, and pointed ears. Shows how lazy pixar is
Rats only live for about 2 years. What will happen to his restaurant by then?
He's also really really ugly
Yet still hooked up with that sexy chef, somehow...
>kitt to remy's michael knight
The car was the real star of that show, still is
Yeah, he really didn't deserve her. I mean, she went through hell to work on a place like that, yet he still went and brought a rat into the kitchen, putting her career at risk
Expensive restaurants are selling a dining experience as much as they're selling food. I wouldn't trust any that has a single dipshit loudly skating around for waitstaff and I would be right since they let vermin in their kitchen. Though honestly the skates are worse than the rats, who washed themselves and weren't ruining the ambiance.
>Name ONE clumsy relatable woman
Tina Belcher.
you hate him because he reminds you of yourself
Funnily enough I just watched ratatouille. It still holds up desu
i don't believe that for a second
Nevermind that it took a while for the food to come, since all of the cooks left. I'd be pissed too
kids think clumsiness is funny and it was just to enforce that he isn't a true protagonist
Those are only attractive character traits in already physically attractive people. No one would care about a clumsy female character if she was ugly. Linguini is in that same spot. He isn’t easy enough in the eyes for us to find him endearing.
Woah, you can't just kiss a woman.
>had a big break-up with a cute Asian gf when this movie came out
>she left me for some red headed French dude
>watched this movie once and never could do it again
>despite the movie having some good merits, it just brings me back to a part of my life I want to move away from
No one ever seems to really like the guy, but seeing him always brings up bad memories.
tbf the rat did it, not him
>Female character is clumsy
name 5 such characters
I think I like him because I'm a stupid clumsy faggot just like him
It's almost like men and women aren't and shouldn't be held to the same standards.
Still, if she decided she didn't like it she could've sprayed him with mace and had him arrested for rape.
they reused his model for onward
They really did:
I love the rat boy. His actor's wife died of aids, which is a bummer.
You have to be a special kind of autistic to be sperging over a character from a 13 year old film
I love how this was made at a time where he forced a kiss onto the hot french girl and she dropped the mace and gave into it.
Yas Forums attracts a lot of women from the media that's been released in the past 6-7 years.
Making that kind of argument just makes it sound like men should be perfect while women can be anything because they're sexually attractive no matter what to someone.
Sometimes we just go wherever the little rat on our heads take us, user.
I never did get a feeling like I did when I saw this scene any other time watching a movie in a theater.
well he is not really the protagonost,is remy,he is just a suport character
What a lot of cartoons and shows have taught me is that whenever a woman is dating a guy that's far beneath her league, it's usually because it makes her feel better about herself and she likes being better than the husband, while still gaining the ability to relentlessly shit on the husband for not being that great.
>makes it sound like men should be perfect while women can be anything because they're sexually attractive no matter what to someone.
Not if you aren't a strawmanning faggot.
Being clumsy is related to motor-skills, or athletics, which (ideally) is almost solely within the sphere of masculinity. So a woman being clumsy isn't a bad thing and is kind of expected.
More like majority of Yas Forums are waifufags and love every single good looking female character and jerk off to them, clumsy or not
i would, but i don't want to get a 3 day ban
