What does Yas Forums think of Netflix's Carmen Sandiego?
What does Yas Forums think of Netflix's Carmen Sandiego?
Not bad.
I know you or someone else made a thread earlier today asking almost this exact same question and the thread died young and without many posts
It's fine. There's not much else to say. Come back if there's ever more released
Wait are you serious? I swear that wasn't me.
I don't even browse Yas Forums I'm just poking my head in because I binged this two days ago and wanted to talk about it.
Needs more porn
Damn straight. I want to fap to Player
It is pretty good. It scratches the action cartoon itch better than anything else to come out in the last few years. I am not sure why they decided to base their action cartoon on an edutainment show from decades ago though. I am pretty sure that turns a lot of people off.
>I am not sure why they decided to base their action cartoon on an edutainment show from decades ago though
I think it's because the titular character was inherently interesting. Also the writers probably grew up with the show.
Although this is definitely one of those reboots where the things it has in common with its predecessors begin and end with the character names.
Smiles we couldn't protecc
I feel a tiny bit bad for Coach Brunt she really did love Black Sheep.
I've been intrigued, but haven't started it yet.
The premise makes me think it's going to be a globe-trotting spy vs spy dealio, or maybe a mystery? But I'm wondering if that's just wishful thinking?
>Carmen also thinks Brunt is the one that found her
>nearly gets fucking bearhugged to death by closest thing she has to mother
>finds out her father got fuckin shot by the ACME chief
Who the fuck knows what'll happen with her biological mother
It's basically Kim Possible but with an overarching plotline.
That's really all you need to know.
there's a bit of a mystery
mostly episodic heisty stuff
you should probably leave before you get spoiled. if you haven't been already
>overarching plotline
>mostly episodic
Which is it?
It's essentially episodic but it does frequently references past episodes and there are occasional shake ups to the status quo
So they're kind of both right.
Just watch some and find out for yourself whether you like it or not
Got some really good assets.
It kind of bugs me how so many of the heroic characters don't seem at all interested in the history facts when they get brought up. I don't want them to go all sparkly eyed or anything like that but that episode where everyone but Carmen and Julia seem slightly disgusted by the idea of classic art kind of annoyed me.
You are pretty much on the money though there isn't much of an overarching mystery outside of Carmen's past.
The best way to handle shows, especially in a post-Netflix world.
>ridiculous cut-up 'jeans'
Why not just have him wear a nice pair of briefs, as is appropriate for a good-boy, white-hat hacker?
Don't forget Player, who can't stop himself from dropping exposition about most places they go to.
I think that's just paying homage to the intrusive geography lessons the original 90s show would crowbar in.
Why? I don't know.
For me, it's Chase.
Pretty good

Is Ivy pudgy or just kind of muscular?
I can't tell because of how she is dressed but either way I am into it.
I guess it is just to draw a little bit more parallels to the old show. Personally I rather like the dumps in the episodes where they are part of the mission briefing or an explanation but in the Australia episode that I am watching right now it was just kind of awkward and out of nowhere.
This poor guy. He makes a great field agent but a miserable detective.
But actually he even proved he was a good detective when he was forced to slow down and look at the bigger picture instead of chasing random loose ends.
Fuck I just got that out of my head.
>Is Ivy pudgy or just kind of muscular?
Given her round head shape I'm going with chubby
I have seen people complain about this guy's characterization but I love the hot blooded but earnest dipshit archetype and it is something I rarely see outside of anime. He is fun and would be a legitimate threat to Carmen if he wasn't so cocksure.
>He is fun and would be a legitimate threat to Carmen if he wasn't so cocksure.
That's the issue though. It's so unrewarding to see him always making an idiot out of himself.
why not both
>I binged this two days ago and wanted to talk about it.
There's your problem. The sucky part of binge watching is that you can see decent discussion only for a short while after the premiere. Then, most people move on and all you're left with are the obsessive fans - those who stick around because of waifus, porn, shipping, lorewank, etc.
Best series of the decade
Not even joking
Not exactly a high bar to reach
I like it.
Speak for yourself
I'm the one that posted this comment that got turned into this pic by the drawfag during the thread of whining about her picking it up
Context please?
I heard that Carmen is heroic in this and doesn't steal landmarks anymore. Is that true?
Yes. Instead of leading VILE she’s a defector and works to undermine VILE by disrupting their operations and stealing whatever they’re trying to steal first and returning it.
Thanks for reminding me I gotta track down a higher res version of this and get her brown'd up
She stole Thor's hammer.
>Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.
And you can't lift it without immense power which goes hand in hand with the worthiness to make it unliftable for the unworthy.
sorry Carmen. we just can't stop winning.
You should really rub it in her face by like kissing and squeezing each other's butt...
Carmen has plans for that boy.
Oh no...Carmen's cornered and defeated...
>perfect tit sucking height
Is Carmen secretly a pedophile?
>Carmen starts daydreaming in the movie that she's doing a sexy dance while already dancing
That was out of nowhere. It was as though they asked to do that and they were told she can't do anything sexy and then said what if she doesn't and it's just a dream she didn't actually do it and they laughed and said fine
They're practically made for it
I don't think that it's a secret
Carmen is a bad influence on children!
Is there somewhere to download the 'game'?
Ideally it would be in a series of video files for each possible scenario.
I want to do screen capping and make some webms.
Ew. Hard pass then.
She's still a wanted criminal and steals from the villain's stores and has a plot about finding out her past. You should give it a shot. It also gets pleasantly violent
It's kind of barebones. The world feels empty and boring. Could be poor sound design and background artwork. It's obviously a kid series and it shows, the stakes are non-existent, characters are very one note and lack goals. Overall it's a harmless, perfectly average cartoon. Nothing stands out.
What nationality is this guy anyway? Australian?
Fucking lmao
