The Weekenders was some badass shit and I hope its on Disney+ so that a new generation can enjoy it. Im not going to bother to check though.

It's not on Disney+, which is a damn shame.

Its like theyre trying to go bankrupt

What about Pepper Ann?

Attached: eeeee.png (461x348, 336.89K)

The creator ruined her reputation when she made this.

If only Braceface took place in 2020

Can anyone confirm whether or not Macy was a little seal girl living in the real world?

does According to Ginger count as SoL?

whoops, I meant As Told By Ginger.
I think I conflated it with According to Jim, somehow.

definitely

it's a good fucking show.

this might be the best western SoL show, though:

if yall don't see why this sequence is genius, go home.

Is the Weekenders Millennial or Zoomer?

hush, adults are talking about cartoons.

>Courtney
Hurts every goddamn time I see her
She was too good for that world

It was way ahead of its time, and like Braceface, was not afraid to take on darker/ more mature plotlines. Remember that whole subplot about how Ginger and Carls dad was a total loser who refused to be a part of their lives? This was a show about growing up, and it wasnt afraid to be honest with its audience; growing up isnt going to be all sunshine and rainbows. But if you work through the hard parts, its worth it. Thats fucking meaningful

Courtney got a good end tho, she got to stay friends with Ginger

Why the fuck not ? There's so much dogshit on there

Not good enough friends to be invited/attend her book event apparently though

Why couldn't Miranda and Gingers "friends" just fucking die so Courtney could be with Ginger?

Why are all slice of life shows so ugly

I think it's to avoid controversy.

Miranda was a bitch but she was at least fucking honest. I have no idea how anyone could be friends with dodie. FUCKING DODIE.

You shut your whore mouth Weekenders is cuter than a bitch

Macy was a bro

>You will never fuck Tino's mom
Why is life so unfair ?

>every image aside from mine has been of a female character
yall are getting sneakier and sneakier with your coom threads.
fuckin fooled me.

carry on.

The slice of life shows are very female heavy

The only reason I watched, and love, ATBG is for the Carl-related plots.

I'm not judging, this was my bad.

I'm used to them starting off like , so I know not to even come in.

Is there any popular slice of life shows now? Also, I feel like streaming has paved the way for a resurgence in action, could the same be said for SoL?

You're serious? What was she thinking!?!?

>so that we can live social lives through other characters
Most real people are trash to be around (including ourselves) so escapism is a superior alternative regardless of your social standing

The SOLs and action cartoons of the 90s kind of merged into the Steven Universe type hybrid shows we have today. I hope we see them both come back as dedicated genres. I love Braceface and it would not be improved by Sharon and Maria dropping everything once per episode so they can turn into Power Rangers and run off to fight Mothra

Attached: vlcsnap-2011-08-22-04h13m01s75.png (640x480, 357.74K)

just finished home movies. does that count as SOL?

it was kinda neat how the last episode was them discussing how hard endings can be to make, but i thought season 4 was kind of weak. they went for an overarching plot in season 2 with the dad getting remarried, but dropped any sense of continuity afterwards

is that the crazy person that wants to reboot the show?

6Teen gets too much flack. This show was enjoyable and harmless. I wished I could be one of these teens hanging at the mall all day and having wacky adventures

Caitlin is best girl and I will fight anyone who says otherwise

Love of T mom is not wrong

The only good one with male lead characters are Arnold and Doug. The everyday life of women is just more exciting to watch and they are more likeable.

I love this picture way more than I should.

is Gumball SOL? It feels like it’s just exaggerated versions of normal situations

Is Milo Murphy's Law considered slice-of-life when it doesn't touch upon the arc. Looks pretty mundane to me.

But what about Mimi?

Attached: Mimi3.png (1600x1200, 1012.71K)

Gumball is far more focused on its humor, and very occasionally its series-spanning thriller plot, than the actual day-to-day lives of its characters. Slice-of-Life usually avoids upending internal logic for the sake of a gag, while Gumball is perfectly willing to let the entire family drive invisible vehicles.

Can't SoL be comedy too? Would Family Guy and The Simpsons count as SoL?

They are but are more commonly classified as sitcoms

That show was great.

My favorite Nicktoon as a kid was Doug. I always loved his little fantasies. It still holds up really well today.

Nikki is definitely one of the influences for my affection of alt chicks.

We want to know the series, user.

What about us?

>EEnE
>P&F
>Recess
>not good
just admit you're a coomer and be done.

Will Todd ever be hers?

>>EEnE
>>P&F

These are not slice of life

>The slice of life category of story is a story that portrays a "cut-out" sequence of events in a character's life. It may or may not contain any plot progress and little character development, and often has no exposition, conflict, or dénouement, with an open ending
how are EEnE and P&F not examples of this, but Recess is?

Your greentext is the definition of episodic, not slice of life.

>Recess

A slightly unrealistic satirical show that is still grounded enough in reality to be slice of life.

>Ed, Edd, n Eddy

Over the top slapstick that just happens to take place in the suburbs.

>Phineas and Ferb

I can understand Ed, Edd n Eddy, but you must be retarded if you think a show about kids that build giant rollercoasters in their backyard who have a secret agent platypus as a pet is "slice of life.

>Your greentext is the definition of episodic, not slice of life.
where are you getting your definitions?

the wackiness of their daily lives is irrelevant.
there are plenty of examples in SoL anime where things that cannot happen, do.
