I don't think Jesse and Lake will get romantically involved, even though a lot of people would like to see that. Dennis Owen didn't write them like that.
Well, the thing is, the main character changes from series to series. (Or "Books" as they are officially known) The character posted by OP is Tulip, and she is the main character in the first book. The main characters in the second book is the short haired girl named Lake and her friend Jesse.
While I can understand wanting to watch a television show or movie because the main character is "Cute", or whatever, I would hope that one would watch for the story, and get lost in it as they were watching it.
I originally took interest in Infinity Train because Tulip looked like a Daria rip off, (Daria is one of my favorite cartoons from the 90s) but I soon became intrigued with the whole story and premise behind the train, the different cars, and all the wild weird stuff that goes on in every car on the train itself. (But that's just me) While you might think the main character(s) are "Cute" I hope you will watch the show on it's own merit and enjoy the good story telling.

The thing is, he did write them that way, just because he didn't want it doesn't change what's in the show itself. Sorry if that makes it hard for you to insert yourself with Lake. I'm sure there's plenty of other characters for you to fap to out there, so don't fret.

Multiple scenes of them blushing, holding hands, playful banter. Not to mention Lake not being with him is enough for Jesse to get back on the train or the fact that lake still wants to get off the train with him despite already having everything she initially wanted. It's literally part of what drives the plot forward.
If you can't see it for yourself, you are beyond hope already. I'm sure you will bother to respond to this with some attempt to justify your view. It's honestly not worth combating back and forth since I doubt you are actually open to convincing and I'm pretty rock solid on my stance. Just don't go shoving your opinion on that matter down other's throats, let them post what they want and how they see it.

Okay,I think you are forcing things here, all of us who have mere and absolutely platonic friends know that these things are very common, such as looking at each other in an awkward silence, being afraid of the first hug, being ashamed of questions, flirt with those questions, blush when you say something you know can be seen differently, get quite nervous when you find out that your friend plans things you didn't think he would do for you, talk flirtatiously about making those plans because "since his number insists", stay sad because that friend is no longer there, clasping hands in complete despair and trying by all means not to be separated, and re-clasping hands at the time of the reunion and talking about how desperate they are. They were about to meet again and blush when your friend says the only reason he came back was to help you.

some frog can correct me but the correct translation might be train de l'infini or something to that effect, maybe without the (l') since the original title doesn't have a "the" or "of"
