If they're the trinity, why does Wonder Woman have much lower quality comics than Batman and Superman? Name a Wonder Woman comic that compares to TDKR and Death of Superman.
If they're the trinity, why does Wonder Woman have much lower quality comics than Batman and Superman...
Are you joking? Death of Superman is your pick for an example?
it's famous. Anyways, you get my meaning. All Star Superman and Whatever happened to the Man of Tomorrow would be better examples. My point stands, name a WW story that matches in popularity
Nigga, Superman has only three stories worth to tell in any given media. His origin, Zod & crew invasion, and his death by the hands of Doomsday. That's it.
Let me tell you something, DC's real trinity has always been Superman, Batman, and Robin. That's it. Wonder Woman is a very recent addition and done mostly to appease the female public.
Ok casual
Wonder Woman is most valuable for merchandise for little girls. Nothing wrong with that.
when was robin considered as part of the trinity?
You know i speak the truth. Case in point: All-Star Superman. A comic that tries to pay tribute to Superman and all it does is condense his origin and death into a single story.
Since the very start.
This is bullshit. The holy trinity is really supes, bats, and krypto.
Robin's always been connected with Batman. And he's never had an iconic storyline without Batman.
>3 stories
>For the Man Who Has Everything
>Whatever Happened to the man of tomorrow
>BIRTHRIGHT
>What's so Funny about Truth, Justice & the American Way?
>John Byrne
>Morrison
>Mark Millar's
>Kurt Busiek
Nightwing is literally a legacy of both Batman and Superman. Superman's pretty much Dick's uncle for all purposes. Though DC writers mostly forget that. The DC big trio for all effect and purpose has always been Superman, Batman, and Robin. Wonder Woman is a late 90's addition.
wow what a fucking retard you are
you cited several origin and death stories there, champ.
Ok casual
You're pretending the rest of the list doesn't exist, casual
Hot take: why can't Batman, Superman and Flash be a trinity? Flash has famous storylines.
Superman: For All Seasons? No origin, death or Zod
Superman: Strength? Same applies.
Superman: Panic in the Sky
What’s so funny about truth, Justice and the american way?
What ever happened to the man of tomorrow?
Superman: Braniac
Superman: Peace on Earth
Superman: Escape from Bizzaro World
Take your fuckin’ pic, dude.
>Wonder Woman is a very recent addition
>The character first appeared in All Star Comics #8 in October 1941
Hmm.......
And most of them aren't iconic.
We are talking about the concept of a trinity, dumb-ass.
Half of them are iconic asf, and got movies and adaptations. So you’re wrong.
>We are talking about the concept of a trinity, dumb-ass.
>The trinity first appeared inAll-Star Comics #36 with a cover date of August, 1947
Hmm......
It's funny because you're 100% right, Wonder Woman doesn't have one of those good stand-alone stories like that. That should be a challenge for DC.
The real trinity is Superman, Batman, and Robin.
I mean the REAL trinity is the father, the son and the holy spirit. AMEN.
Stop bullying Diana just because you can't get your dick wet, incel.
Said the nigger who's favorite heroes are Batman, Wolverine and Iron Man.
World's Finest was literally just Batman and Superman being gay dads to Robin.
That opens up a can of worms because you could easily say
>And Hal Jordan
or
>And Aquaman
The Trinity is the Trinity because its not the whole Justice league
>It's famous
So you don't read comics? Go fuck yourself
yeah wondy has less memorable stories but talking about recent ones? I like nw52 azz's run better than most of the shit bats and sups got these last years, and I see no chance of something good coming for us with bendis and king
BUT THAT'S THE FUCKING TRUTH! Wonder Woman isn't even a National's character, she's an All-American's girl. Superman, Batman, and Robin are the true DC characters. They're the real trinity. Wonder Woman was born with the Justice Society's guys like Green Lantern and the Flash. DC only made Wonder Woman a part of their trinity during the mid 90's because of Kingdom Come's influence. That's when they decided the new trinity should include Wonder Woman in it. The first time they were named as a trinity was in an Eric Luke's story during his Wonder Woman run. A story that pays homage to Kingdom Come. Like Kingdom Come she's nothing but Superman's cock-hungry slut in it too. That's how DC decided to make her work as a big gal among the two dudes. Then she went from Supes' homewrecking stalker, to Batman's tsundere waifu.
>death at the hands of doomsday
Included in none of those
Behold the REAL Trinity
Based
Origin and death stories are endemic to every single genre of fiction you absolute fucking lunatic. It's not any kind of criticism of any kind.
>derangedconspiracydude.jpg
Nothing what he said is untrue. If you don't know what he's talking about regarding National and All-American then you're the casual.
>WW instead of Wildcat
>Wonder Woman doesn't have one of those good stand-alone stories like that
Morrison's Earth One graphic novels.
JLA: A League of One
Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia
OH WOW
The real trinity is:
1. Batman.
2. The Joker.
3. Superman.
Other characters are irrelevant.
Batman and Joker > > > > Superman > Robin > Wonder Woman > The Flash > Aquaman > > > > Harley Quinn > > > > > > Green Lantern (almost literally who).
They really just couldn't give him a purple and green suit. That made me hate the movie. Such a simple change, purple and green suit, purple and green eye diamonds. It's such a simple and easy thing that proves they have nothing but contempt for the comic, which is ultimately antithetical to the film. Having contempt for the little guy (comics as a medium compared to film). Makes me hate anyone who thinks it's a good Joker movie too, because they don't get it and they don't get how much it undermines everything in the film.
>Wonder Woman over Flash
No
The WW stories that I liked the most are A League of One (which I guess was more of a Justice League story), Eyes of the Gorgon, the Hiketea, brian Azzarello's run (despite the Rapeazons shit it was good) and none of them are as popular as the Batman and Superman stories.
I think the problem with WW is that none of the writers build up from what the previous writers have done and instead opt to just fucking ignore and destroy what the previous run did and start from zero with a new supporting cast a new status quo. Superman is a reporter in Metropolis. Batman is a billionaire in Gotham. WW has been an army nurse, a super spy, a UN ambassador/diplomat, a person who collects antiques, etc.. she's from Themyscira but she's not exactly living there 24/7 (in some stories she can't even go back to her island) and sometimes she's in New York or London. Steve Trevor is probably her most known supporting character right now thanks to the movie but Diana really doesn't have a stable supporting cast like Batman and Superman have. There's really no TDK or Man of Steel story that updated and has left a big impression on the character like those other stories have for Batman and Superman.
Like I said writers tend to ignore everything the previous writer has done. New 52 for example instead of building up from the good stuff Azzarello did and trying to fix the shitty stuff the Finches proceeded to fucking kill everything interesting he set up and then Rucka retconed his whole run and proceeded to do the most forgettable story that paled compared to his first WW run.
The Finches followed Azz's stuff to its logical conclusion. The way Azz set up his amazons there was no way in hell they'd accept the male amazons in their islands, and with their queen being a weird magical golem and Wonder Woman, someone they always hated and used to bully, as their new queen they would never respect any orders. So the amazons killing the male-amazons and creating a new queen of their own that could rival Wonder Woman in power was the most logical conclusion for what Azz had set up.
>Superman is a reporter in Metropolis. Batman is a billionaire in Gotham
And that's because those serve a function: by being a reporter Clark could always find stuff that sends him to the next adventure due to breaking news and whatever when his powers weren't yet so big where he could hear a penny drop from across the pacific sea. Being a reporter is kinda oudated these days but it stuck around so long that it's become iconic. Where as Batman being a billionaire means he can afford to have all his tech and be Batman 24/7 instead of needing a real day job.
>WW has been an army nurse, a super spy, a UN ambassador/diplomat, a person who collects antiques, etc.
This is more of an indication that none of her status quos have been seen as appealing and iconic enough to stick around.
>he's from Themyscira but she's not exactly living there 24/7
Because then it would isolate her from the rest of the world and people who weren't Amazons, and the core idea of Wonder Woman was leaving the island for Man's world.
Good points, all around
Not him, but he's right. If you think he isn't you're a casual. That story, no matter how shit it was, attracted media attention.
It's coming out right now
Dude, their was a '70's "Trinity" newspaper strip.
Now the term Trinity was coined in the nineties, but Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman have been grouped together for Merchandising purposes for a long time.
>Name a Wonder Woman comic that compares to TDKR and Death of Superman.
You can't because Wonder Woman is not a character but an agenda.
How would you even go about making a definitive WW story that could compare to The Dark Knight Returns and All-Star Superman? What would it be about?
that would be too straightforward. The Joker movie is a standalone origin for the character, he's not going to instantly be the madman purple suited clown prince of crime straight off the bat, assuming they even want to go that route where he gradually becomes more like the comic Joker in appearance and characteristics in sequel films. Here's something that a lot of people overlook, it may or may not be intentional but the scene where after Joker shoots Murray and he walks over to the camera, his suit looks purple when he steps off the stage and into the blue lighting. Its subtle but the movie joker isn't matured yet in his identity as the Joker, he still has yet to encounter a "batman".
They'll say representation, but there's only one real answer: She's there for the female market and the potential profits found therein. So, she's never going away. The real problem is she's just...superman-lite when it comes to powers.
She's really strong, but not quite as strong as superman. She's really fast, but not quite as fast. She can fly which only makes her more Superman-lite. Now, I'm not power wanking here, I don't care that she's weaker. Its that she's too similar that's the problem here. What does she bring to the "Trinity" that wasn't already there?
DC literally changed her powers over time so that she could be more like Superman so it would be pottery when they paired them as a couple. It was intentional. I find it dumb as fuck. Wonder Woman shouldn't be able to fly.
