I'm assuming Finn is about 18 to 20 in his age now and dealing with new adult problems. Maybe a subplot of him being scared of having sex with his current girlfriend for fear of pregnancy since he doesn't feel like he has the responsibility in potential parenthood.

If you always know how a character will act in any given situation, that's a badly written character. Not to say characters can never be written OOC, just that there's always going to be some inconsistencies because that's how people are too.
