He's 71 years old now. He did a bunch of Batman related stuff in the late 1980s/early 1990s. He's talked about how the royalties for his Detective Comics run went nuts after the Burton movie came out, and that his co-writer for the first year (John Wagner, aka Mr. Judge Dredd) actually quit after five months because the book had been selling under the 70K royalty threshold.
He seemed to semi retired from western work after the 1990s.

Yeah, he had a notable run with Wagner and Breyfogle on Detective Comics and Batman. Was still currently going on during this title. Then he got his own spin-off Batman title after the main run ended. He wrote that spin-off and Lobo till around the end of the 90s. After he just went back to 2000AD. Nothing significant in American comics since.
