Unpopular cartoon opinions

I'll go first

Shit thread you got going here.

That's a fact

for the most part the Spielberg cartoons aren't any good

Post 2000 South Park is soulless

Come at me.

Correct and based

South Park stopped being good after like season 15, possibly earlier.

As good as the duck tales reboot is I feel there are times it tries too hard to be clever or witty.

Based
Cringe nostalfag

That's when you grew up

I think it would an unpopular opinion to say it's better then Caballeros at this point
On this board at least

Film was significantly better in the 70s and 80s

This is true
Late 90s-early 2000s had the best music, I’ll give you that, but the movies and tv shows were pretty bland and uninteresting. Not a good era for that form of media at all.

Wrong, video games peaked in the early 90s.

There is literally nothing wrong with the “calarts” style.
It’s cute and often fits the tone of the show well.

Every single cartoon to come out in the past decade is complete shit.

The WoW episode was the absolute peak for South Park, even before it things weren’t all daisies but certainly after it came the rapid decline.

Family Guy is still funny, even if it’s in a really stupid

wait, that's an unpopular opinion? they've been shit for a while, letting their political biases get in the way of an honest critique of our society. they've let their minds stagnant and clearly don't care anymore.

cartoons are cool
I don't really like anime that much
anime girls aren't that pretty to me

Season 1 and 2 are part if the Simpsons Golden Age........(so are 9 and 10)

Attached: Dip.jpg (1390x904, 385.73K)

Agree

Is that an unpopular opinion?

Samurai Jack is overrated as shit.

Teen Titans GO is a definitive cartoon of the 10s

That's just a fact. A controversial opinion would be saying you enjoyed it.

Bubbline was okay; They built it up for nearly a decade and started well before the culture war, wherever or not you dislike the development its unfair to compare it to shit like Korrasami.
The whole endgame had bigger issues and fixating on the one plotline that at least had closure just because you dislike dykes only helps to legitimize more stuff like Korrasami.

This I an incredibly popular opinion within the duckfag circle so I dont see why you posted it here.
I unironically agree with this statement actually, cabs is fine but DT has a stronger cast.

SU Future has no bad episodes, but it does have weak elements here and there. Bluebird and A Very Special Episode (regardless of the latter being one of the funniest episodes in the show) are the closest it gets to being "bad". Not an Onion Gang in sight.

Muscle Man was obnoxious and I found almost none of his jokes funny.

Spider-verse is overrated

Gravity falls killed Disney XD. Not to say it was a bad show, but that it infested a network that could have been the Jetix channel into hipstertopia

I didn't thik All this and gargantua 2 was that great. It felt less like a well thought out and well written special and more like a rushed attempt to get rid of as many plot threads as possible.

Avatars' humor is complete Sandler tier

Attached: yI6tiyhRbeK6CbIHPrNYfEjJCeg.jpg (500x750, 50.35K)

Here's a hot take
Onion Gang isn't a bad episode.
It's a pointless filler episode, mind you, but it sure as hell isn't bad. I'd much rather rewatch it over shit like Island Adventure or Sadie's Song.
Hell, I prefer it over its companion episode Last One Out of Beach City, which I thought was complete overrated trash even when it first aired.

Wander over Yonder is fundamentally superior in every way to SU and covers its main themes better over less than a third of its runtime

Attached: tumblr_ovf04sFmI01udtoxdo1_1280.jpg (1280x1088, 188.39K)

Eh, at least Ember Island Players was a funny episode.
Teen Titans, on the other hand, had garbage humor.

Amphibia is shallow and mediocre even by 2010/20s standards, a show without substance, originality, well written or memorable characters, literally the most generic show possible by both premise(isekai) and style(calarts).

Adult shows like Brickleberry and Paradise PD are mature shows.

Slice of Life is a shit genre, it's mostly an excuse to justify boring.

I suppose that's more of an unpopular opinion than mine. Good contribution user.

You're opinion is wrong, south park was always garbage

I also think that LOOoBC is a townie episode disguised as a gem episode, and that it tries to show Pearl developing healthy relationships by completely discarding her prior characterization.

South park was never good

Fairly Odd Parents was never a great show. It wasn't bad, but it always felt like a "that show that always seemed to be airing, so I just sort of watched it because I had nothing better to do" type show. It always kind of relied too heavily on this smug, self satirizing type of humor, it felt like the show was thought that pointing out its flaws was an acceptable substitute to actually fixing them.
But, at the very least, FOP was a better show than Jimmy Neutron.

the only reason people think they like Laika movies are because they are all stop motion animated, coraline was the only truly great one the others are very mediocre to bad.

also just because a cartoon does stop motion animation does not mean its the greatest movie known to man.

Attached: laika.png (1710x900, 1.43M)

This picture has always bothered me. That disclaimer that says that only a few things could be considered bad seems like a way to hand wave the shitty aspects of the period. The fact that this was made by a nostalgiafag doesn't help.

You're half right, it definitely rushed a lot of elements like the Investors and the Revenge Society, but I felt like it was a good sendoff for Tresiter and JJ.

Discarding prior characterisation is what happens with character development though. You can't be one thing forever. You can't be, for example, brave AND cowardly at the same time. One leads into the other.

there were lots of great children's movies this decade
many had great stories, characters, messages

Shippers and over zealous waigufags are worst part of anything. This opinion isn't really controversial but since 90% of this Modforsaken board is made up of those types of "people" it feels like it is.

Sure, but what happened in LOOoBC felt extreme, and it felt like the backpedaled from it pretty immediately.
I think Future handled the ideas LOOoBC wanted to explore better, specifically in Volleyball and Bismuth Casual.

Marcy and Bubblegum were just close friends.
Kiss your homies goodnight and hold them tight.

Shippers and waifufags just happen to be incredibly loud minorities. In actuality I'd say most of this board just ignores them.

Now, the fact that most Yas Forums waifufags have multiple waifus? That's fucking disgusting.

fujos are the worst part of any fandom

Cry more 2002 cracker.

How is that controversial? Even fujos hate fujos.

waifufags get more hate

Probably by asshurt fujos

Anyone who has used Tumblr even one time should be immediately executed.

What movies outside star wars, alien, & Rocky were good in the 70s?

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

that's like 90 percent of Yas Forums

Nice cope faggot.
You born in 2003 weren't you?

Taxi Driver
Jaws
The Godfather
One Flew over the cuckoo's nest
A clockwork Orange
Of course you'll call them ALL shit.

Early South Park to about the WoW episode and a little beyond was good, but a lot of the show doesn't age well because SP relied a bit on its "holy shit, they did WHAT?" factor which is par for the course nowadays. SP was kinda funny during the election just for the social commentary but Matt and Trey have already admitted multiple times they're phoning it in for the money and have literally attempted multiple times to get cancelled so they can do something else. it's just an easy paycheck for them

Steven Universe is absolute shit because it attracted a staff of feel-good people who weren't really good at animating, storyboarding, or writing, but got along well with Rebecca Sugar who is well-liked by CN executives because she isn't a raging sperg like John K, works cheap, and CN isn't going to shitcan their first female showrunner. also, like it or not, the show attracted a dedicated - if autistic - fanbase.

Regular Show was good in the beginning seasons, petered out, and then had a jolly good ending. JG Quintel deserved a show after all his hard work on other shows and is a good guy, even if he is a slacker.

Pat McHale deserved more from CN than just Over the Garden Wall. Rob Renzetti deserved more in general that My Life As A Teenage Robot.

Genndy Tartakovsky needs to stop being such a Jew if he wants to make the things he wants to make. Although, I would have killed for an Action Hank or Justice Friends spin-off.

Adventure Time was shit but marketed excellently with kids via toys, tie-ins, comics, games, and so on that Pen Ward got a lot of leeway and that helped springboard a number of other CN shows. Same with Rebecca Sugar and SU.

John K is still a bitter nobody in the industry and everyone's glad Katie Rice is working on the new Animaniacs.
seriously, fuck John K. dude's a giant prick. people were willing to work with him despite the rumors of him being a pedophile but he's just such a prick no one wants to work with him.

I know.

Nobody would care or like Chevalier the Vampire knight if it weren't for LeDroit's art. Even people who usually like Pat Mills' writing wouldn't like it

Underrated truth

Idk fujos are annoying but they arent as bad as Mpreg fanatics, furries, scat porn enthusiasts, rabid incest shippers etc

Agreed.

>Mpreg fanatics
>rabid incest shippers
so...fujos?

pt. 2
Seth McFarlane is actually a really nice, personable guy, which is probably 75% of his success at this point in his career. keep this in mind for anyone else out there: if you wanna succeed in the industry of show, people need to actually like you. shit on Seth's shows all you want but he's made his money and is great to his people.

CH Greenblatt got totally fucked by CN's executives despite having a great show.

Craig McCracken is a really nice dude but Netflix animated shows are overfuckingsaturated.

If I think of any more, I'll post.

Early 90s > late 90s

I could list a whole bunch of great movies, but that wouldn’t do it justice. The 70s just had this style, both aesthetic and writing wise, that we’ll just never see again.

Why should we, you haven't said anything new or interesting. You just regurgitated the same opinion of everyone who lived. Every decade has nostalgia for the decade 20 years prior. Remember when everyone was talking about Ninja Turtles and other 80s nostalgia shit back in the 2000s and it appeared on everyone's t shirts. Even in 80s TV shows, the adults in it always talk about how good the 60s were. No shit you like stuff back in late 90s/early 2000s, we live in 2020. The world is filled with nostalgia drones, people 20 years from now will say this was best time period. You haven't said anything, you just proved how much time controls us.

>those types of "people"
Now where have I seen this before?

Klasky-Csupo's distinct artstyle is a very good artstyle.

Western Cartoons being able to have ugly demented styles is one of it's biggest strength's compared to anime.

>Immediately assuming I'm a zoomer
Christ I hate you people

Most fujos arent into mpreg and incest ships are pretty 50/50 between straight and gay...Dipper and Mabel? Phil and Lil? Then there's lesbian incest for the yurifags like Anna and Elsa

Mao Mao > SU

What are you implying?
