>How does this work?

>It works like a community toy chest. In the /coc/ threads you are free to post whatever ideas/settings/characters you want, but you have to be OK with other people playing with them (tweaking them, putting them in stories, using them for things, etc.)
>There's no guarantee that what you post will catch on either.

>If the OC you are posting is YOURS for something you are personally doing, then it would go to the "How is your webcomic?" threads.
>If you just want feedback on an OC of yours, then it would go in the "donut steel" threads or drawthreads.

Ladybug gotten the upper-hand from the get go for once.

It happens sometimes.
Rare as it may be.

Off to a slow start. Everyone must be playing Animal Crossing and DOOM while stuck at home.

Ain't that cute
>MFW I don't even own a Switch

I tried to draw Lustbane doing that George Costanza pose.
Key word is "Tried"

You know it's bad when this guy here is the most constant contributor

>contributor
You mean shitposter? You know this roleplaying of "i'm trying my hardest at drawing and i also really want this character to succeed" is just shitposting, right?
Anons in these threads told him to fuck off with that, then he went to the drawthreads and they told him to fuck off there, then dumb-ass magi threw him a bone, like he does with so many spammers, so now he's back to spamming the drawthreads and he's back to spamming it here.

I fucking hate my life

That shitter on the drawthreads? Not me, boyo.

With nothing else to do because of the virus, social distancing, no work, and being stuck at home, the new Animal Crossing really could not have come at a better time.
Not really sure how this would translate to /coc/ being any faster or slower though.

On the subject of something /coc/ related, I see my editor friend posted in the plus4chan thread last night for the Yas Forumsle editing, so I may as well get on the ball with that here.

Yeah, we can shorten the line flub down to just the flub. The question to be addressed is who breaks character to laugh at it. Should it be a ninja already KO'd on the ground, someone off set, or someone else? It feels a tad unprofessional, so that's why I question who should be the one to do it.

I still think she's the cutest /coc/ character by a wide margin.

Which series/setting would best make for a 2D indie game

Good question. Probably Golden Girl?

Just stop.

Like I said: "Tried"
I'm trying to keep him consistent, art design wise. This is probably the only good art of him I've done

>Yas Forumsle as a top-down character action game with a ratings meter and business meter. When you're shooting a commercial or film, "Ratings" depend on the hype you build up without taking damage, and if it drops too low you lose. Other gods'/goddesses' champions interrupting each stage will build up ratings, but also prevent you from reaching missions. When you're between studio sets or between jobs, "Business" is about keeping busy with missions. If the business meter drops you're suspectible to being kidnapped by the shadow goddess and you lose.
>Shark Lass as a Ecco-style shmup. Most of the enemies and score opportunities are underwater, but you have to manage your air supply by diving above the surface or collecting air bubbles. Some sections of levels take place in caves, restricting access to the top layer (and fresh air) of the screen.
>A game where you select several different Yas Forumsmrades and guide them through top-down levels to demolish enemy waves. One character is required by default but you can recruit up to three more at least. Maybe nine or fourteen more for extra hectic play? Could be like Pocky 'n' Rocky where the player wanders the levels at their own pace with a set squad with health; or like Mercenary Force where you collect coins to increase current health (with no cap), swap the formation of your characters and buy new ones if you lose somebody.
>Grieve-tan visual novel
>BreastQuest as a Contra or Megaman Zero action-platformer
>IKAG as a Battle Network where your deck of 'chips' are items you're pulling at random from your bag

So what sort of shit does this gremlin get up to?

I personally think BreastQuest would make a better TPS/Beat 'Em Up hybrid

Building and fixing all sorts of stuff

Soooo... Who's the most underrated Yas Forums character, in your opinion? I'm just trying to spark some discussion here. Personally, I love Duet and wish there was more stuff about her

Original character.

>TPS
user was talking about 2D indie games specifically

Motion's powerset lends to a whole indie game gimmick. Having to jump off tall ledges or tank hits to build enough energy to perform tricky platforming maneuvers and what not.

Ohhhh.... Fuck, I need to read things over better
What's his name?

How should a GG video game be approached?
Playstyle, genre, scope, that kinda thing.

I think a beat 'em up like that Batman game that came out would work

I never settled on one, definitively. I was considering Max, but I think there're a lot of rabbit characters named Max.

I think Jackson would do

Ha ha! Not sure Tha Big D would like that! I imagined him as a Gyro Gearloose-type scientist-inventor, to go on Carl Barks-style crazy adventures. Never got very much further with it, tho. Ah well.

I like it. What's his story, though?

who drew this?

My question is "Who's it depicting?"
But yeah, who do dis?

Cosmic Crusaders user drew it a few years ago.

Andrew Wright (Whisper's attendant), Erin de Gaulle, Hummingbird, Enlightenment, Doctor Yas Forumsccult, and Betty Volare.

I was imagining he's in a futuristic society, with super-advanced tech, lots of alien worlds. Thinking about it now, not entirely unlike Rick, although I would have gone much more light-hearted and G-rated, Carl Barks style. I was somewhat basing him off of Professor Bullfinch from the Danny Dunn books (pic, that's him sitting at the controls), as well as Stanislaw Lem's Cyberiad, two inventors traveling the universe on adventures (pic, one's standing in front, one's in the vehicle). (Both super-fun books that almost no one knows about, by the way!) So I was thinking he would have some adolescent companions, plus one adult companion, and I was considering that would be a duck, but then the Bugs-Daffy relationship would be far too obvious. Lots of wacky inventions and musical numbers and comedy and strange lands. Got an artist to do about five pages, but we didn't get any further. C'est la vie!

Side-scrolling beat-em-up. That or a platformer with really brutal momentum physics.

Oh. So it's like those old sci-fi novels?

For some reason, I think Lustbane would make an okay Yakuza-style beat 'em up. Considering that Nicholas normally has some very Kiryu-esque shit up his sleeve

Haven't you spent the last ten or so threads talking about him stealthily targeting people, being a weakling and only relying on his powered-up form in extremely desperate situations

Alright, got me there. It's just that his fights are usually very localized.

Breast Quest is practically made for an old-style punch-and-shoot platformer with weapon upgrades. It's filled with combat as a natural course of the setting and has a tank for an MC.

Do we have any heroes or characters who prioritise non-combat activism like sports or photography

I think the first time we wrote down the line I wanted it to be Cole himself, but it really doesn't matter, not like they'll use that take anyway.

Maybe we just have the flub and the director yells cut then add in a line of Skathi asking what happened.

Skathi: "It seems to me you like the submission much more than you let on." She feels the holster of Cole's gun pressed up against her "Are you happy to see the gun in my pocket?"
"CUT!" the director is sitting in his chair with a megaphone looking at a script and scratching his head.
"Oh? Is that not how it is said?"

I'm trying to remember if I had decided if Skathi does not use contractions in her normal speech pattern.
I kind of want to pick Bug's brain for this issue since she's kind of the authority on this character. She might make an appearance in this thread, but I'm not going to wait on it before going forward since we can always change it more later.

I think that Golden Girl has something akin to that

Sure, that's fine.

Are we delaying the whole SG showing up unprompted?

I think she just kind of fixes stuff. Imagine Rosie the Riveter and shit

I mean, he is pretty stealthy about it most of the time, but he's not a weakling. He just happens to be physically weaker than the stuff he's up against

No, she's still standing right next to the director before it flashes back to the night before.

So, have we created a character that parodies the current "Woke" crowd that seems to run comic books nowadays? Or is that just not our thing?

If no one finds it entertaining, then no one does it.
It's as simple as that.

No one wants to make a character who is the opposite of fun to work with.

Turned a weird sort of side profile into a man with a drill face. Harder to tell but he also has drills protruding from his hips. Will probably draw from a better perspective for him later but this was originally meant as practice. I'm thinking of possibly making him a madman that praises the spiral pattern and believes in reaching the 0th dimension just as a cone reduces dimensionally to zero at it's point. Eventually he obtains the ability to reduce the dimensions of objects, even himself, by embodying the spiral.

Ignore the slight blurriness, I was taking the picture haphazardly and don't have access to a scanner

But it doesn't really come up in there? Or am I missing something?

It's the paragraph right under the one we just got done with.

Beside the director there's SG, arms folded and tapping her foot fast enough to make a groove in the cement floor. “Just a little bit longer, I just have to watch this nonsense for a little bit longer.”

Right there. Then it goes into the flash back to the night before to give context.

No, I mean Are we delaying the WHY she's there, sorry.

Parodying “woke” culture is fun as shit, in my opinion

>Uzumaki intensifies

You mean why she's still hanging around?
To find out more about Yas Forumsle as a person using the excuse that she's keeping an eye on Skathi to exploit a loophole so she can stick around.

The why gets explained by 696 during their fight.

I was actually somewhat thinking about Gurren Lagann when making it but holy shit you're right

Well, you go ahead and do that, then. I guess.

Oh. Well, that works as well. Hero or villain?

I guess it seems weird Coles lack of reaction with her popping up without him asking her there. I get what the rules are. but I'd think there'd be a little concern by him.
