He did nothing wrong
James Evans
Connor Anderson
Wrong!
Why is his dick not out yet?
Nicholas Green
>no casualities
fucking based
Alexander Gray
Yea, we know, that's the problem.
Luke Turner
Unironically he didn't. No casualties, nothing even got destroyed. Should've let him fuck off into the ocean
Tyler Smith
Remember how fucking hype this image was?
God what a disappointment.
Brandon Mitchell
Remember how fucking hype this image was?
God what a kino ending.
Lincoln Miller
Man the color scheme for Kaiju Steven looks way better in the intro
Jack Wright
I think he was actually trying to kill himself
Ayden Ramirez
Man the color scheme for Kaiju Steven looks way worse in the intro
Joseph Watson
Why is there so much echo in this thread?
Jace Hernandez
>You'd think of me as some angel, but I'm just a fraud.
this whole thing really felt like some issues Rose never got the chance to work through herself
Julian Wood
It's because it's in the dark.
I'd argue it also would benefit from not having a fat gut built to appease barafags, and a less confused and spooked face 20% of the time. Kaiju Steven is fucking cool.
Luis Stewart
>I'd argue it also would benefit from not having a fat gut built to appease barafags,
The amount of Bowser and King K. Rool porn disagrees
Kayden Evans
It'd make the design more intimidating. He could get a tubbier shape once the emotional damage of everyone going 'WE LOVE YOU STEVEN' gets to him. He'll still be trying to maintain his overgrown stature, but the loss of strength will make him barabait.
Hudson Johnson
he looks like 1998 Godzilla, so does this confirm that that movie exists on his Earth
Noah Ward
He did nothing
Christian Morales
No he doesn’t
He looks more like the Hanna Barbera Godzilla than anything in terms of proportions
Cameron Gonzalez
Corrupted Steven being that shade instead of just pink would have made things a thousand times better desu
Agreed, a more muscular build would have made more sense given Chadeven
Eli Ross
>Corrupted Steven being that shade instead of just pink would have made things a thousand times worse desu
Disagreed, a less muscular build would have made more sense given Steven
Jaxon Roberts
>the music that played when he monster-ized was a corrupted version of the Diamonds' theme
nice touch
Lucas Parker
I'm not sure on the muscular build part, he *is* a monster, not a Chad.
It'd still be better than the fat gut boi we got, which is in itself not that bad and looked tenfold worse in the leaked art. The color, though, looks just a bit better, thanks to actual show light.
the shade also would contribute to my theory on Pink actually being Red Diamond off-colored by bits of White
Joshua Lewis
Robert Hughes
His head is the dick
Adrian Miller
Be the Steven you want to see in the world.
Dominic Thompson
fucking killed him
Zachary Bennett
This show continues to be absolutely ridiculous
White is an authoritarian megalomaniac (literally robs individuality) and she gets off the hook because Sugar and her effeminate writers believe that you can solve every problem with love and respect. Which you obviously cannot
I’m not saying they needed to fucking throw White into the Sun and shatter her, but she needed to face real consequences. She doesn’t go to space jail, she doesn’t undergo any sort of penance, she just sits in her room after partially unfucking her mess and begins transitioning into a better person, like a beeautiful butterly
Which my suspension of disbelief simply couldn’t take.
SU writers love to circlejerk how they’re “sending positive messages” and “helping prepare kids for the world.” It’s not cynical to state that there are people who will pretend they’ve changed, people who will stab you in the back, psychopaths who are LITERALLY INCAPABLE of feeling the “love and kindness” that Sugar thinks is a fucking superpower or something. Its just all so very ridiculous, and critics will continue to fellate this series until their dying breaths because it shares their progressive values
Alexander Smith
That's the problem. People forget Steven Universe is Steven Universe and they want it to be The Dark Knight of cartoons when it's obviously not.
Mason Wilson
Why does everyone have punishment boners?
Luke Gutierrez
Ask hammurabi
Jason Price
what did the diamond actually end up being
Brody Stewart
We live in a vindictive society. People are conditioned to seek retribution and they aren't satisfied if an infractor doesn't suffer.
Xavier Cruz
Pink Diamond
Landon Perez
Human instinct. We want reciprocity, accountablity. Crime and punishment.
Too many people get away with too much in this show.
What was true, is still true: The Diamonds are guilty of multiple planetary genocides which they will never face justice for.
Aiden Collins
Lmao it's Palkia
Brandon Lee
White Diamond - like the other Diamonds - has a different power now because reasons.
Instead of taking control of other beings, she channels their spirit through herself, allowing them to interact with themselves.
So when she channeled Steven, she turned into that. He nearly killed her.
Logan Cox
Steven is about the only being in the Galaxy able to stand up to them. Getting them agreeing with a peaceful reform was as good of an outcome as it could get.
Connor Miller
Or maybe its because some level of punishment is required to enact justice
>ooops wiped out a few sentient races ha ha oh man this song and your dead mom is making me cry ha ha Im a good guy now
I don’t want the Diamonds to die or to suffer for all eternity, but Jesus Christ Sugar couldn’t even bear to give the Diamonds a slap on the wrist.
Xavier Ward
>Or maybe its because some level of punishment is required to enact justice
This is the conditioned part and why the goal of reforming criminals (which is supposedly jail time's actual purpose) mostly never works.
Nathaniel Young
Stop thinking like a human, gems are more like insects not primates.
Aiden Diaz
True. Under the circumstances. Making the diamonds unassailable and therefore unaccountable is an unsatisfying aspect of the series.
Kevin Hernandez
>multiple planetary genocides
The best you could say is attempted genocide. It's been established somewhere the Gems never encountered another sentient species
Adam Green
As I said they're just too powerful. Its like trying to incarcerate Superman without Kryptonite. It would only happen if he willingly cooperates. The Diamonds not only helped the peaceful reform, they actually resigned their positions of power after fixing their crap. The Universe got a pretty sweet deal in the end.
Henry Bell
Tell that to the writers then. Gems are meant to be stand-ins for people, fusion = sex, corruption = mental illness
Gems are more human than alien
Dominic Ross
>unaccountable
They are accountable. For themselves at least. They are changing so they can be better Gems and fixing all of their mistakes. They are literally bringing Gems back to non-corruption and you people still wanna complain cause they didn't spend an arbitrary amount of time locked up somewhere
Anthony Cook
Kaiju Steven was awesome, sad to see him gone so soon. This is basically Steven's SS when you think about it.
Ethan Butler
So next time Adolf Hitler rises to power we shouldn’t attempt to try / jail him, we can just give him an administrative role and allow him to start helping wartime refugees and the homeless?
Julian Brooks
WD is more comparable to the Rothschild than Adolf.
Aiden Richardson
That's how we dealt with Obama
Jacob Campbell
I know they said different but they're the same powers. They just explored different aspects/uses.
Brayden Ross
If he has the actual power to undo his atrocities why not (with proper surveillance, of course)?
Ryan Ward
Jews are vicious, they still hate people in Iraq for Babylon kicking their asses 3000 years ago so there is no atonement.
Charles Perry
Therapy Roleplaying
Lucas Wilson
>metaphor for suicidal tendencies and PTSD
>——————-^— “Wow, cool monster!”
Logan Perez
But what if it gets in the way?
Caleb Phillips
Source that.
Plus: "Jungle Moon": the flashback mentioned an invasion. Not just colonization, invasion.
Plus: why should it only matter if we are talking about sapient species?
A weapon might have been devised. Bismuth could have done it.
Yes. It feels like they got away with what they did. They caused inestimable amounts of suffering, and they suffered nothing in return.
Justin Martinez
It is so stupid to see people compare them to Hitler, Hitler isn't an all powerful alien thing punishing the Diamonds was not even possible subduing them by taking advantage of their relationship with Pink was the only way to defeat them. I do see White Diamond as giving herself penance for her actions, letting lower life forms control her and do what they want with her. Blue is handing out marijuana and Yellow is fixing the war atrocities. Anons always making issues out of nothing.
Brody Jones
>A weapon might have been devised. Bismuth could have done it.
Bismuth was delusional and severely overestimating her abilities. The Breaking Point wouldn't do shit to a Diamond.
Nicholas Watson
>Bismuth could have done it.
everyone including Bismuth was getting chumped by Yellow they were all probably going to be shattered if not for Steven revealing who he was
David Barnes
Also: Hitler killed people of his own kind.
Whereas it could be argued - wrongly, in my opinion - that what the Diamonds did was no more immoral than a human clearing a forest to build a farm, because they are a completely different form of life.
William Cook
>suicidal tendency
>something powerful
Pick 1
Gavin Hall
>they suffered nothing in return
But they fixed all their mistakes and resigned their power. Why fixating on making them suffer if they can be of great help? What's the point of it?
Luke Rogers
That is an entirely unsupported statement. Amethyst almost killed herself by falling off a cliff. Lapis was crippled by someone stepping on her.
The Breaking Point was designed specifically to shatter gems, and if wielded by their insanely strong arms, would be devastatingly powerful.
There is no reason to assume the Diamonds are more difficult to shatter than real-life ones. They believed that Pink had been shattered by an ordinary gem with a sword.
So they, at least, believed it was possible.
Jacob Lopez
Brayden Smith
Dude, a normal diamond would get all sorts of scratches and cracks from every single time Steven fell flat on his stomach.
Andrew Sullivan
Why's his neck so thick and phallic?
Jacob Anderson
The Crystal Gems had no plan of attack and were few in number. In fact Yellow had the initiative.
But an ambush attack? An assassination? Far greater numbers? A hundred Quartz soldiers equipped with Breaking Points? Back in the day, it could have succeeded.
No point. It's purely emotional. It 'feels' unfair.
But this show is all about emotion.
And, of course, everybody also behaves as if nothing bad happened.
Nicholas Murphy
It's his murdercock
Kayden Jenkins
And what do you think would happen if for example they shattered Blue in Reunited? Well Yellow would rain death upon them with zero hesitation, everyone would die. And even if by some miracle they shattered Yellow too it would kick both their courts into a frenzy sending 2/3rd gems into a vindictive rage against the Earth nothing would be solved. But it working at all is a big stretch you can read them believing Pink's shattering as them severely underestimating their sisterdaughter.
Grayson Long
It’s meant to be a Snerson based off a boa
Connor Torres
But did he ever fall on a sharp object driven with the speed of sound?
Brody Murphy
He went thought MFTL speeds unprotected. Fast enough for the ship to go straight through a planet
Jose Green
So, any punishment was a practical impossibility.
Still feels a little hollow.
...
You know what would have worked for me? If they had been corrupted. Turnabout is fair play.
