How do you even manage to do worse than this?

How do you even manage to do worse than this?

From the top of my head: Aldnoah Zero and Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul.

Anime, but those might be the worst endings I ever witnessed. So yeah, it an be worse.

As far as I know, only Star Vs. did it worse.

>implying that something that happened in the last few seconds matters
Korra was ruined before the first season wrapped up.

Did you know the lead writer of Aldnoah;Zero also wrote the epic three-part OVA series Boku no Pico?

WRONG
The first ep of Korra was certified kino and unanimously lauded on this board. It went to shit soon after but it never ceases to amaze me the amount of revisionism Yas Forums goes through to pretend it always hated Korra.

its actually true
what in the absolute fuck.

WRONG
Most anons liked the show for most of the first season. There were those that hated the romance halfway through but I didn't care. Where it all really fell apart was the two episode finale where they ruined Amon and shit the bed. And for some reason people were like "but they got another season, that's why it was so bad, they didn't know what to do with a new season!"

>WRONG
None of what you said invalidates my post and I agree with everything you said.

I'm not even into Shiro but damn he looks good in glasses.

Why did the creators throw a fit for multiple seasons that they weren't allowed to kill Shiro, even though the execs were 100% right that him living makes sense as a fan favorite character with an unresolved arc?

Why was everything after season 2 so awful?

I learned that the other day. I wanted to share. It's really interesting, I think.

At least he's got one good writing credit to his name. I always joke with a friend of mine that Boku no Pico could be legitimate oscarbait if you toned down the sex scenes.

Call Me By Your Name only added fuel to the fire that is my belief. I'm unironically writing an oscarbait version of a Boku no Pico screenplay for shits and giggles.

WRONG

>Star vs.
>Voltron
It's tough choice to pick whose finale is the shittest

I liked the first season, but never kept up with the show.
I thought the introduction of a complex moral and political situatuon with the non-benders and Amon was a cool thing then I heard the show dropped it and became worse, finally ending with shipperfag bait.

Kado & Miraculous Ladybug

Ladybug's not even over yet, but God damn if its production isn't in absolute shambles. Zag announced Season 5 before Season 4 was even confirmed.

Zag probably spends 18 hours a day being drunk.

>When you steal the show every season and then become shit when it's finally your time to shine.

Attached: honerva.jpg (735x544, 52.72K)

It's a pretty funny spectacle. Astruc is adamant about not sharing things while Zag snorts lines of coke and shares concept art for seasons yet to come.

Ladybug's entire production has really fallen into disarray. Back when the show came out and everyone was focusing on the Korean dub the... internationality (?) of the production was alluring, but nowadays it feels like a brick wall.

>Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul

Ah christ that was awful. All that budget and character designs wasted. S1 wasn't perfect, but having the entire OG team just play flat second fiddles to the new character's pointless melodrama love affair was bizzare. Nothing was accomplished and Amira's still fucking trapped.

>Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul
Fucking preach, user!

I've never watched Voltron, what was so bad about the ending ?

It's not so much the ending but the circumstances leading to it.
Personally, I thought it wasn't the worst thing ever. It was just one big meh.

The penultimate season was good again, but then it just fell apart.

Well explain your point please

Season 7 was so bad, I didn't even watch the season 8 because I was that disappointed.

Never watched the last season, but from what I saw online (depending on who you ask you might get a different answer): Shiro marries a dude most people didn't even know existed, Lotor got a whole episode putting him in a better light again only for him to stay a melted corpse, Haggar as a villain should have been great but wasn't, the plot has a huge amount of holes, Allura and Lance had a romance with no chemistry, Allura sacrificed her life for no good reason at the end and Lance got turned into an Altean for some reason and spends the rest of his life mourning Allura...I'm sure I forgot a lot of stuff, but that was some of it.
Didn't to justice to the potential this show had at the start.

The group stopped feeling like a tight knit group of friends when the writers decided that fucking over shiro was way more fun.

Don't forget the finale, which completely shits all over the message of teamwork and friendship conquering all.

>Aldnoah Zero
Fucking protagonist knows everything on of wikipedia off the top of his head and ass-pulls the weaknesses of all the mechas b/c of big brain. Destroys advanced alien mechs with the mecha equivalent of forklifts. Holy fuck this made all the episode formulas repetitive. The Princess marries a literal nobody-what's-his-name-who wins her by white-knighting, despite the fact that he landed on Earth and took part in the invasion. Fucking hell what shit show

>Allura and Lance had a romance with no chemistry,
It's amazing how Voltron rehashes a lot of Avatar tropes and makes me cringe, but all of the rehashed Avatar tropes in Dragon Prince make me like the tropes again.

It does nothing of the sort. You've been crying about this for years and you've never had a valid point.

Have any cartoons had a satisfying ending in the last decade? The best I can think of barely manage to be serviceable.

>use an anime art style
>make the female characters look masculine and unattractive for most of the show

Explain this

Attached: 7c99493d648749811a336ad40695c432.png (750x874, 222.99K)

Dude, most porn is free.

Star, hands down. It's played off as a happy ending while ignoring all the horrible things that happened to achieve said "happy" ending which makes the whole ending come off as disturbing.
>Hey, remember all those fun magical characters we spent so much time with over the course of the show? They're dead now. But let's not talk about that!
>Except these two. We're showing you their corpses and playing it off as a joke! Ain't that a hoot?! But no time to dwell; moving on!
>But it's all okay because a girl got to be with the boy she liked! I'm sure merging all the various realities into one will have no negative repercussions at all...nope, none whatsoever...

Well, that does explain things.

It's incredible how they managed to shit on all my favs from S1.
Jeanne and Azazel got it the worst, but Kaisar isn't far behind.
How could they tank a franchise with so much potential so hard and irreparably? Cygames are morons.

Attached: 1498344595658.jpg (844x836, 166.43K)

Franxx involved giant dinosaur aliens and a guy marrying the girl who strangled him, so...

I never watched this iteration of Voltron, but I don't understand how this show could just look so unnappealing from all the screenshots I've seen.
I really detest the artstyle. Everyone just looks so weirdly pointy and edged. It's like there's no roundness and if there is, it's somehow all wrong.

Slaine got fucked over so hard.
They could've made a fdanchise out of that ssries but they just fucked it up so hard.
A1 studios can't do anything but SAO adaptions anymore

The world wasn't ready for a girlyboy main character so we had to settle for a dyke. And besides brown qt3.14 exists.

>Cygames are morons.
I mean yeah, of course.

>show has the moral about working together to overcome anything
>everyone lets Allura kill herself to save the multiverse with last-minute powers with no protest or effort to save her

It was shit. Accept it.

Pidge was fine design wise. I'd have maybe ditched the glasses and made her hair a bit longer but the rest was good. Such a shame they never actually bothered to do anything with her character though.

>Dragon Prince
Dragon Prince is so distinctly mediocre but next to Voltron it looks like a masterpiece

You've cursed me with this knowledge.

The Dragon Prince doesn't have the same luxuries that Voltron had with mass funding and plenty of episodes. In fact it was probably the cautionary tale of Voltron that makes Netflix reluctant to invest in cartoon sagas anymore.

I just read a plot synopsys and character profiles and shit.
Letting americans buy the rights was a mistake. A huge one.

>Voltron almost ruined the west's chance at long form stories in animated format
T-Thanks, guys... great work...

Voltron has ways been American.

You know exactly what I meant user.
Don't be that guy.

>Letting americans buy the rights was a mistake. A huge one.
Americans have ways had the copyright to Voltron. It was American made and American produced, it was only ever based on other mecha series concepts, and nobody can copyright a concept.

I know Netflix orders hours worth of content from Dreamworks, but I wonder if Netflix or DW determines how many episodes are spent on what shows.

I noticed that Dreamworks hasn't had a show that lasts 78 episodes in a while. She-Ra is 52. Kung Fu Panda is a laughable 26 episodes. Cleopatra in Space is heading the same route, too. Thanks, Voltron!

>It was only ever based on other mecha series concept
That is... a very nice way of phrasing it when the first few big series (and the ones that made the IP even famous) were just re-edited anime.

Be the TMNT finale

>brown

Which one?

>It takes place 50 years after the previous batch of episodes.
>We're shown a flashback (never built up in the rest of the show) that a nuke went off and killed basically everyone around the time the previous few episodes took place.
>Everything is now a desert full of mutants
>Raph is an amnesiac
>Don uploaded his brain into a robot
>Mike is a crazed hermit
>Leo is a brutal warlord
>Some war with mongooses happen
>Leo comes to his senses
>They all go to a lake to live there forever
>Flashback to happy times with Splinter

Voltron didn't just ruin itself, it jeopardized the future of cartoons itself. Part of me hopes it does all burn down. It's what the medium deserves for betraying it's longtime fans for SJW pandering.
