It's funny, as I've gotten older time seems to slip by much quicker. 2013 (when the show started) feels so recent that it almost seems unreal that in that time someone went from a 7th grade child to someone graduated high school and probably working or in university.

I remember back when Cheeseburger Backpack came out, I was extremely confused because they threw us in the middle of a story already in progress. I wish they at least explained who the Gems were, just something vague. I thought they were magic fairies for the longest time.
season 1 was great because they were just magical fairies fighting monsters, and we slowly found out the mechanics of this big alien war thing that was happening.
