Why are the Mortal Kombat characters so good at fitting in the DC universe?

Are they? Scorpion and Sub Zero can fit in any comic universe because they're pretty much have power sets that already exist in any universe. Does it make sense a human with no powers but is just good at martial arts can defeat Gods in DC? Could Lieu Kang take on Darkseid? Could he take on Wonder Woman?
>Could Lieu Kang take on Darkseid?
could Black widow take on Thanos? of course
I don’t see how they are. Your pic related wasn’t involved in the story or anything. He just has dialogue with characters that was recycled because of the NRS voice actor strike or whatever the fuck it was.
Because they are basically written by the same group of talent pool
DC and Marvel are literally crossover universes, absolutely any character fit into them.
Would Hellboy work better in Marvel or DC?
I think NRS can make a good MKvDC game now that they don't have to feel pressured by Midway's imminent bankruptcy.
I doubt it, they haven't made a good MK game since 9
You kidding me. Mkx was extremely popular
>good
>popular
Not the same thing.
>popular mean bad
>Not the same thing
Yes it is
Something being popular doesn't mean it's good necessarily.
Because a lot of their characters and lore can easily be another universe for DC to integrate. However, we've seen plenty of times where it just doesn't work. It'd be Wildstorm all over again. Milestone might've worked out if the rights issues weren't a factor.
DC has more high-fantasy elements and Marvel is generally more grounded. "Earthrealm" and the Netherrealm and all that stuff suits DC more
But people enjoyed the mkx story
he must be from Yas Forums where they say everybody hate mk
Yeah, but MKX's story is still below average
MK11's story is straight up garbage
>Hal is a villain
>Billy is the chosen one
I would love an Alex Ross style mk comic
It was okay, after Mileena was killed and D'vorah became a villain sue I gradually lost interest .
>mileena
>people caring about that shit character
>martial artist that controls ice
wow such an original concept. i love MK and subzero is a good character but let's not pretend he's the slightest bit unique
also i never played as him in Injustice 2 aside from getting his ending. the point of a game like injustice is not to play as characters you've played as in 10000 different games
>MK11's story is straight up garbage
why the character you liked got his ass beat
You like weeb fighting games don’t you?
>let's not pretend he's the slightest bit unique
who sad it was
11 > 9 > X
my point is, a character like subzero who is not unique would have no trouble fitting into almost any fictional universe
Name some more martial artists with ice powers
I don’t know a single martial arts character that has ice powers like sub zero
You shut your whore mouth
Mileena was never interesting to begin with. Most people want her back because she’s a slut
Would Superman be allowed to fight in the tournament for Earthrealm? What about Darkseid?
She's like Kung Lao: they have one-note personalities, but fun movesets and distinct designs.
>Mileena: horny usurper, insecure, sharp teeth behind Arabian veil, great rushdown
>Kung Lao: arrogant superiority complex victim, has a razor sombrero and fun mixups, had a great fu manchu in X
You miss the moveset more than the personality in MK games: I'm still mad Kenshi and Ermac aren't in 11.
If we were talking about MK9, I'd agree with you. But in the X game and comics, she finally got some decent character moments and a gimmick beyond "Kill and replace Kitana." I'm fully prepared to say Mileena has one of the better stories out of all the MK females.
Mortal Kombat came out in 1992. I doubt there were many ice ninjas even back then.
Horny for who?
>Mileena was never interesting to begin with. Most people want her back because she’s a slut
No, people like her because she's part of the original trilogy of games, back when MK was a phenomenon.
If we're being honest, Scorpion was the only actual character who had somewhere to go plot wise, and he was just ninja Ghost Rider.
Scorpion is just a less fleshed out Kratos.
Shouldn't it be that Kratos is a more fleshed out Scorpion, if we're going with who came first.
What I'm getting at is; yes he came first but they didn't really do much with his tragic backstory until recently.
Scorpion and Sub-Zero after MK2 were the 2 that had the biggest potential for stories with Kuai-Liang dealing with the fallout of the Lin Kuei cyberization/collapse and Scorpion being his 'guardian'. As much as I like Liu Kang, the Shaolin just felt pretty one note with their place in the tournaments, but would probably fit in well with the monks at Nanda Parbat if they went to DC. It certainly would be interesting to see how the Blunder God would fair in a world with the Justice League though.
I never liked her at all
Kratos caused his own problems. Scorpion was the victim of a nasty assassin clan war and a demon's trickery.
Still waiting for more examples
Might not be an ice ninja but there are many ice martial artists in manga and manhwa.
Really?
MK hasn't been good since 3, and there's never been a great MK game.
I don't understand how NRS can get away with having some of the worst character animation in modern fighting games. Their games just look awful, it's no wonder their games always fail as competitive games, they're unpleasant to watch.
So "fighter + ice powers" is overused by the time it's the 90's but you can't come up with ice ninjas?
I think DC?
DC has that weird gothic horror angle with Batman and Swamp Thing.
Ah so you're full of shit
Liu Kang, especially in X, though some of the X quips imply she sleeps around.
Canonizing Mileena and Tanya being flirty with each other was probably a bad idea.
>it's no wonder their games always fail as competitive games, they're unpleasant to watch.
Let's not pretend it's animations that stops games from being picked up competitively when Skullgirls was dead pretty quickly after its release. It fails because the FGC has never cared for it and the main draw of it is being for casual play. I kinda wish they'd stop trying to push the e-sports so much.
>never been a great MK game
Shaolin Monks kicked ass
E sports is cancer
Well I mean animations obviously aren't the only thing, but it's still one of many issues MK has as a series.
>Skullgirls was dead pretty quickly after its release.
I feel like that was a mixture of a few things
>Devs have no money so they can't shill it
>The combo system is kind of fucked
>People would rather just play Marvel
As a Liu Kangfa, I can't help but feel happy that he gets to be the ultimate hero after being shat on in everysingle MK game since Deadly Alliance
Not but go ahead and continue anyone that relies to you is a samefag.
His new Fire God gimmick is lame though.
