i'm honestly gonna miss this show, see it was dumpster fire, but it was my dumpster fire, I was with it all the back in 2013 when I was 12 and now i'm 19, I meet some of my best friends and my girlfriend because of it, it inspired me to take up creative writing. and yes it had a myriad of problems but I still stuck threw it all. and now that's it's all said it done. I feel happy that I did.

Yeah it did turn to shite, but I'mma miss it.

Glad I never have to wait an indefinite amount of time for another episode.

binged it in the last two week, it was a solid 6/10 show

You're right. I mean yeah, a lot of it was shit, but it was a ride we got from start to finish, through all these years.
It's truly an memorable ending.

What do we watch now?

I have a LOT of problems with SU, but I've been following it for so long that I'm sad to see it go. Glad it ended instead of them continuing after they had run out of ideas though.

Good riddance. It was trash and will always be trash. I don't get the premise of the messed-up nonsense plot, the forced lesbianism mechanic that was consistent in being forced down the throats of the viewers. Not to mention the also constant diversity narrative and shameless promotion of broken families. No doubt that the decade this show was brought into the world would no doubt be the worst.

Me too user me too except for the friends and gf, but me too.
I hate so much this show, but could never really let it go, i needed to see the end to me to say that i truly wasted my life doing it!

>12

Thanks for making me feel old. I've been the same since I was 15 and I'm 26 now. I started this show when I was 19 and it's been crazy juggling everything since. I felt like 15 at 19 and just now feel 19 at 26. I've been on Yas Forums only since late 2008 september but it wasn't until 2013 when I started to keep up with shows with other anons on here at the same time, like kill la kill on Yas Forums and SU here. It's been an experience as bad as the ending. If you check the archives you can see my autistic seething for years about the horrid bomb format, I did the same thing when OK K.O was ending/ended too. By jungle moon I already felt like this shit was getting too messed up.

It may be over now, but I will still remember that one guy who was obsessed with Lapis.

At least it ended instead of not ending like the Simpso.....
Fuck it!
End this up with a movie like the Simpsons planned to end the series!

Same regarding age and everything, but replace 2008 with 2005. I've been here entirely too long and got here entirely too young. My first series was Haruhi. I've been following SU since Mirror/Ocean Gem and will miss it, even if it never was my number 1.
They were actually using Lapis as a stand-in for a crush they had on someone in the very early community. "Lady of the sea, happy as can be" was in reference to them, and they just posted Lapis as a scapegoat.

I meant that back in 2018, there was someone who was really obsessed to the maximum with Lapis. To the point where they started making rituals involving pillow waifu prints of Lapis.

Oh god what the fuck I was on this site for this show's very first episode
Why am I still here?

Oh, I wasn't around for that. Back in the really early fandom there was a guy that kept posting "lady of the sea, happy as can be, can't help but wonder, if she'd be happier with me" and I thought you were referencing them. They were obsessed with someone that was in that community and thought that diligently writing poetry would win them over.

I remember when everyone saw the "new" designs and said it looked like shit compared to the pilot

I remember that. I was one of the people insisting that. I think I was maybe here when the pilot came out too and people were talking about how cool it was. Then the first pictures came out and people talked about how hideous the new art style looked.
Christ, I feel ancient.

Were you also on here back in 2013, explains a lot

eh 2018 was already nearing the end of the show anyways, considering the schedule and the bomb format. If the sugar crew had half a mind they could have pulled this garbage ending off 3 or so years ago.

I felt the same way too, but there's no way the pilot's animation would have been feasible for a series

*as bad as the ending was
Damn I don't know what I'm gonna do now that there isn't new episodes to look forward too every 6-7 months. SU wasn't apart of our regular lives unlike a weekly cartoon either. I'll still can't help but miss having a bomb week after the show shifted to this format and just getting pissed they were townie episodes.

It feels so weird that it's over now. It wasn't a perfect show by any means but it still has a place in my heart.

Same here. I still remember when people posted that fanart of the male diamond (singular, people thought that "Diamond" would be one gem) and acted like it was 100% legitimate, confirmed, and beyond question.

>people think they are ancient because they've been here since 2013 (or so they think)

Oh god, it's starting to happen isn't it?
>people saying "I remember when so and so happened" when referring to 2013-2015 as if that is such a long time ago

WHY WHY WHY

Attached: 1277343924777.jpg (283x468, 16.26K)

Been here since 2005 and already experienced that when Kornheiser started to take off in 2011. We're old user, at least by internet standards.

user, 2013 was 7 whole years ago. You might've been here longer than me, but it's been a long time since I first came here.
Ultimately the art style looked a lot better than how those first screenshots looked. I'm glad we got the easier to draw art she chose.

Yeah I had the internet equivalent of a mid-life crisis last year. It sucks.

7 years ago doesn't feel like a long time ago to me because I was basically an adult already, and in my twenties, still In my twenties I might add.

Yet 7 to 15 felt like an eternity. Weird feeling that is.

I feel like I'm a bit too old for the final message. Had this come out a few months ago when I finally decided to move out then I'd be a wreck for sure but now that I've settled down and even have a gf instead of feeling sad my only thought was "good for you Steven". I think it was a decent finale, other shows that released around the same time have fucked up way worse so I'm satisfied

Attached: 1564997787973m.jpg (1024x576, 79.61K)

I'm 22, almost 23. I started coming here when I was pretty underage. Time's been moving incredibly fast and I don't like it.

give it 2-3 years and election kids are gonna be saying they've been a here long time

Attached: 1291203232276.jpg (400x400, 150.4K)

I started coming here when I was underage too, dude. Difference to me was I felt mature at 15 versus come here as a little kid. I only came across this place once when I was under 13 while searching dragon ball games back in 2004. It took me some time to muster up the courage to even come here because NG forums back in early 2008 said how terrible this place was. Late in the year here I am, still terribly addicted. One point in 2010-2012 I was on every single day posting till late, even when I left HS in 2011. DON'T FORGET YOU'RE HERE FOREVER

There were like five places the show could've ended but didn't.

Yeah, the end of SU tonight is more than just the end of a show for me. This was the last toon from its era, and the last western toon I was following. The 2010's brought to a close. People can talk all the shit about it they want - it was good memories to me.

Same, after OK K.O this is all I had left tethering me to this decade. Even though KO had barely been on air for 2 years though...anyways I wish I kept up with the wild ride of RS and AT. I stopped both of those around a couple episodes of mortal folly/recoil. I don't keep up with any currently airing shows now. Be it normal TV or cartoons. Little depressing, isn't it? The message hits me hard despite the shitty ending because I still haven't ventured out yet, at 26 (27 in a few months) still staying back trying to help fix everyone's problems. The SU episode about everything changing especially hit me. Haven't felt this way since I saw Ralph breaks the internet a year or so ago, about letting people go yadda yadda. As corny as it all is it is strange the timing of these messages makes it more emotional for people.

Guess Yas Forums will be back to discussing some fetish or outrage bait for the millionth time

>i'm honestly gonna miss this show,
I honestly wish I could still say that, because I stopped looking forward to this show since S5. I don't hate it, I never did, but it just felt like any other show. Like it was "my" show when I was hype for it, but then it turned into something that wasn't mine and it was like something that was recommended to me.
I was way more wistful during the Star VS finale and that wasn't even MY show to begin with.

All in all, it was a good show and this was a good ending.

>Steven Universe is finally over
It's been an honor shitposting with all of you
I'll miss you all

Attached: We will always be your family.jpg (680x382, 36.2K)

So, are the megas up yet?

could you share that ?

Wait 5-7 years, they'll reboot it and we'll get a even bigger dumpster fire.

So wait... is /sug/ over now?

If there's something to give SU future it's that I think it definitely hit their audience who'd grown up since they started watching. Everything about it to its conclusion felt like the definitive 2010's show. It probably won't have a solid legacy but it will be remembered by this generation's toon fans at least.

Yes, but not on /trash/

After watching that I feel kinda like the way I did after reading Epistle 3. Don't get me wrong, Steven universe was a train wreck, but it was one that was fun to see where it would land and how it would bend and buckle until it became it's own work of art. In the off chance that sugar reads this, thanks. Expect no more further correspondence from me regarding these matters; this is my final post.

Yours in infinite finality,
user

hey guys im feeling a feeling from the old days with my first gf, this isnt cool. i hate this show but its still fucking with me

Same, i remember being excited about SU when the first 2 or 3 episodes aired. I may have stopped watching the Show after Jailbreak, but i still kept watching some episodes here and there. It was by no means perfect but i still liked it. A good finale for a comfy show.

I feel bad for you kids. You mostly have "Dumpster fires" to grow up with, that are written by shit, overgrown teenagers who's writing "pedigree" is fanfiction.net and/or Devianart.

The queers and clown hairs of today couldnt write their way out of a paperbag. Theyre so busy trying to emulate their animes, and come up with such great big "le world building" universes, that they eventually write themselves into corners, then just give up and end up writing in whatever dumb bullshit personal politics and opinions they have. They dont understand story or plot structure, character development, or proper execution of conflict/resolution.

The episodic format of yesteryear worked the way it did because it stuck to simplicity in structure. It forced writers to be succinct and conclusive in their narrative/storytelling.

This entire generation needs to have "Brevity is the soul of wit" tattooed onto their eye balls.

Was that the one where she drew Rose not obese?
>way back in 2014

Quit that. Maybe I don't feel like that is long ago because when you go through the motions of life and get in a routine then everything speeds up while it feels like you're standing still. I mean, I technically have done nothing in over 5 years since I started working so..still getting my life started at 26

Attached: 1280906199601.jpg (309x328, 35.08K)

aw yis there will never be another like Steven Universe. It made me cringe it made me laugh It was there for me when I was alone.

You realize episodic shows still vastly outweigh serial ones right?

>WE'LL WIN THE FIGHT AND THEN GO OUT FOR PIZZAS

Attached: kit.jpg (480x360, 19.85K)

The show i considered mine was Adventure time who's ending i was actually sad about

>WE ARE THE CRYSTAL GEMS

Attached: IMG_20200324_165154.jpg (326x326, 18.22K)

Not like they used to. In fact many modern "episodic" shows are basically a bizarre clunky mishmash of episodic/serial.

yeah
>I technically have done nothing in over 5 years since I started working so..still getting my life started at 26
. . .
>was 18 when that happened
>still no degree
>still "working things out
>24 tomorrow
