DUDE WEED LMAO
Still funny how this only got more relevant
youtube.com
vh1 actually paid for that?
I remember watching this when i was like 10 years old and my brother caught me so he told my mom and she took away my windows xp laptop. I never understood the references about weed or anything, I just really liked Spongebob.
I liked the Yogi Bear one.
i remember stuff like this from back then too youtube.com
the 2000's were a weird time for Spongebob videos
That's probably the worst Bush impression I've ever heard,
I remember telling this Chinese kid at summer camp that China was a shithole because I saw this cartoon online, and he told me you can't trust everything you see online. He was right to tell me that, but the cartoon turned out to be accurate.

Stuff that Screams Early 2000s

Stuff that's surprisingly good for early 2000s
those surprisingly good ones were actually on CN's website back in the day
these werent internet shitposts made by newgrounds kiddies, they actually had a budget
Yes, but all four of them were on Cartoon Network at some point. And the last two surprisingly good ones are made by the same people.
I'm not sure how big of a budget those first two ones were, but I assumed they had something since it was a music video made for Sugar Ray, and the next one is an episode of an entire web series.
Speaking of the bizarre preponderance of Spongebob parody videos in the 2000s, I thought this video was the funniest shit when I was in middle school.

theres a whole forgotten era where the looney tunes were webtoons

Webtoons have such a distinct sound and look. They all look like some cheap porn parody.
oh shit that wasnt even the full matwix, my bad

its gotta be the compressed to all fuck sound
>2009
>EARLY 2000s
Zoomer. That was late 2000s.
I turned 31 last week. Likewise I have just discovered Homestar Runner.
I don't get it.
will this aesthetic make a comeback? Is too distinctive
you missed out breh
unfortunately i dont think theres a lot of nostalgia for webtoons. it was such a brief moment in time, and back then only weirdos played around on the internet
>will this aesthetic make a comeback? Is too distinctive
Maybe if everyone decides to use macromedia flash again at the same time, the limitations of that software are what created that style.
wow this is racist as fuck
i miss shit like this
was it so much the limits of the software, or the limits of the internet?
you couldve made high framerate cartoons with high-res images with millions of colors and high bitrate recordings, if you were willing to work that hard
but it wouldve taken days to download on your average 28k dialup modem
I remember me, my sister and my cousin watched these shorts a lot. I don't think we got the jokes but we still liked it.
Weed probably made this good at the time:

Uploading files from your IP range has been blocked due to Aussie shitposters
This brings back some not so good memories. I was one of those obnoxious LOLRANDOMXD kids at school who loved the shit out of this series and was always quoting it.

was he right ?
Salad Fingers was quite cringy looking back at it.
I AM THE RADISKUUUULLL
AND I WILL KILL YOU ONE BY ONE
>tfw Alvin is still a pioneer of sprite battle animations
He recently did a live a marathon of SMBZ on youtube and its insane how the later battles hold up.
this video looks extremely 2002 for something that came out in 2009
This was made by a guy called Randy Solem in 2001, a few years before Alvin Earthworm hit the sprite animation scene. Unfortunately, Randy died back in 2012 at the age of 36, due to a negative reaction to his heart medications.
Here's Randy talking about Newgrounds and his animations on G4's Attack of the Show! in 2005:
that's sad
Why did Spongebob in particular have so many parodies in the early 2000s?
Does the Hommer Simpson series count? I'm still amazed at how a shitty web animation ended with a half hour live action arthouse piece about Milhouse set in a post apocalyptic Springfield that's been taken over by a Stonecutters cult.
I remember watching the Saw parody and was really engaged with the plot.

Now this and Joe cartoons takes me way the fuck
Everybody knows what Spongebob is.
Love that series.
I know who Randy is. I used to watch his shit.
Joe Sparks made Total Distortion. He said he wants to re-release it at some point.
>you got to use the saw to get it out
>im gotta go
I wish more people would evolve content in the same way Hutz did.
One of my favorite series of all time
This sounds almost exactly like something by that gay dude who thought he was a Danny Phantom ghost and shot up his work.
