what is their motive to introducing two totally new random main characters for the final act of the show, is it just so they can kill one off for Obligatory "Sad" Scene or are they introducing them here so they can be used for later storylines

The clones wars isn't like Rebels where you follow the same group through various situations. It's an Anthology series. You observe arcs with one group and then 2-3 episodes later you jump to a new set of characters, some returning and some completely new. CW's been doing this day 1.
