I'm not a racist, alright? I just told a bad joke! There's a huge diference, but nobody on the internet ever takes the time to ask themselves, "Is this worth freaking out over?", or, "Are there bigger problems in the world than this tweet?". Well, I assure you there are; and just for the record, I love black people! I watch TONS of black porn! So, what do you all want from me, huh!? You wanna ruin my life!? Then congradulations, you did it! Everybody hates me! I can't leave the house without getting harrassed, no one will hire me, I can't turn on my phone without strangers telling me to kill myself, or that they're gonna to kill my family! LEAVE ME ALONE! I'M THE SELF-REIGHTEOUS LIBERAL DOUCHEBAG, NO YOU! I'VE KISSED A TRANSEXUAL, BEFORE!! HOW MANY OF YOU CAN SAY THAT!? WHERE'S MY FUCKING MEDAL!? I AM SO FAR LEFT IM SPINNING IN CIRCLES, YOU SHITHEADS!! INSTEAD OF KILLING MYSELF, I SHOULD KILL ALL OF YOU!!!!!
>I'VE KISSED A TRANSEXUAL, BEFORE!! Brian, you did more than just kiss a transsexual.

Did Brian physically attack them after saying that?

And then seth had a meltdown about trump and excused their racist and gay jokes as being okay but trump's as bad.

It is kinda hard to side with Brian when he and others are responsible for this cancel culture. Reap what you sow.

Eh regardless of how much of a shithead Brian is in general, that outrage crowd could still go fuck themselves and deserved a beating.

The only thing life taught me regarding outrage mobs is that you can't stop it, but you CAN distract it.
IIRC, there was a Cancel Culture mob after the guy who made JL8 because of dick pics (which turned out to be consensual between parties) , but the mob only stopped going after him because the person who started the mob (Kate Leith) got into trouble herself and then shut all communications for awhile because of it.
The angry mob is more like a child. Wave a few keys at it and it'll get distracted. The only combat to an outrage is an even bigger outrage.

The concept of racism is stupid. It's just people acting on their incentives, not some kind of mind-virus that makes people behave irrationally. Sometimes people are wrong about what their incentives are, but that doesn't mean there's a mind-virus causing it. People are wrong all the time.
Blake Sanders
>I love black people >I've kissed a transsexual Typical American, he loves shallow virtue signaling unless other people are using it against him.
Also >politicians in the '40s condescendingly say "I love those little colored people" >hip liberals today do the same exact thing The more things change, the more they stay the same.

This episode's premise is flawed as shit because it acts as though making a racist joke is not only okay but that other people are wrong to call you out on it. It's the single most entitled thing in the show.
Noah Johnson
It’s not a good thing. But everyone else did take it to rather extreme levels with forming a mob around his house
Josiah Phillips
The way I see it, racism is almost always a symptom, not a disease. When people are mad that they aren't making enough money, their economy sucks, or there are other political problems, they target a race as a scapegoat. But most people would rather treat the symptom and ignore the root causes.
Outside of that, racism only appears as "microagressions" which don't fucking matter. Literal lynch mobs have only come from massive political/economic tensions, not because someone cracked a rude joke.
Ryan Rodriguez
>wrong to call you out on it Think they tried to mob lynch him though.
Matthew Cox
Acknowledging races is like acknowledging different hair/eye color though. People look different, that's not a value judgment.

I hate this "Let them eat cake" mentality when it comes to the left eating its own because all it's really showing is that the purity spiral went up another notch. At the end of the day, we still have to live in the same place and post on the same online forums as these shmucks do, so celebrating when they crash and burn just means that we're celebrating our own places becoming shittier because "W-well at least it hurt one of the bad guys in the process".
Lincoln Collins
Not that poster and I haven't seen this episode. It sounds like a pretty blatant metaphor for cancel culture.
Thomas Brown
Brain Griffin? More like BASED Griffin.
…I'll go lynch muhself now.
Levi Cox
I wouldn’t call it a metaphor but exactly that
Joseph Martin
This It's ultimately a few people who have all the time in the world doing it. Ignoring it makes it go away every time. No one has enough energy, not even autistic spergs on the internet, to freak out about every transgression that ever happened all of the time.
Like it or not, these obsessive freakouts are attributed almost entirely to the left and super progressive politics. Even if the right is just as guilty of it in many instances. That's the disadvantage of firing the first shot, you take the blame for every shot fired after.
Ryan Scott
You'd be suprised how many people go on about 'one human race' despite the genetic differences being clear and groupable to different ancestors though, especially intelligence or social psychological differences seems to be ignored in favor of unity.
Levi Rivera
>censorship is good if it's about racism I grant that's hypocritical coming from Seth and co, who make a big deal of how liberal they are.
But what reason do you actually have for censoring an insensitive joke? Do you think it'll brainwash people into being racist? The huge backlash to racist jokes sure suggests otherwise. Or is it bad because it hurts people's feelings? That's not good enough. Hell, politically incorrect jokes have only become more hurtful now that people have gotten more sensitive to them. People weren't so thin-skinned in the early 2000s for instance.
Kayden Morales
>conditioned
Josiah White
>But everyone else did take it to rather extreme levels with forming a mob around his house This unironically has happened IRL though. Several times, cancel culture gets so riled up that they take it to IRL and the results are as cringe as it sounds.
Someone might be a cringe shithead for making a racist joke but you're still an autistic fuckstain for freaking the fuck out about it in the way that you do. Shitting your pants isn't an acceptable response to someone doing the internet equivalent of littering. Even if you find 500 other shitheads to shit their pants with you.
Jonathan Myers
This, George Carlin already went over this, but that was the Boomer and Gen X generation and now the Millennials have to learn the same mistake the hard way.
Lucas Morgan
That's why we have "race" and "ethnicity" I guess.
They both come from genes, sure, but race suggests differences beyond appearance, and ethnicity is just how someone looks.
And you can say that certain races are more intelligent, but I look around and I see most people being idiots no matter what skin color they have.
Benjamin Gray
You know, with conditioner. That's how he keeps his fur white despite being an outside dog.
Ethan Green
It'll happen to Gen Z too. It's weird that everyone thinks their generation is the first unique one.

> there was a Cancel Culture mob after the guy who made JL8 because of dick pics (which turned out to be consensual between parties)
I remembered that. What a fucking shitshow that was. I don't remember how consensual that was, but it was the first time I got distrustful of the way the cancel-mob acted.
Liam Murphy

The problem isn't the joke, although if you say something racist that's not even funny you just look like a faggot, the problem is the response. Brian doesn't even seem to comprehend what the people are upset about like he's never anything wrong. If you make a mistake, you should own up to it. >People weren't so thin-skinned in the early 2000s for instance. Yeah they were. Do you honestly believe people getting offended is a new development? The difference is that in 20 years aside from the internet, people have accepted each other more and a lot of demographics don't hide in the shadows.
Jaxon Roberts
I don't think so. This goes in cycles. The Boomers had to learn it because they had the hippies of their day who were almost mirrors of progressives now. I think the counter reaction to the obsessive puritanism can only lead to a brief respite of freedom.
Mason Richardson
>celebrating our own places becoming shittier How does anyone else suffer when lefties crash and burn? It's a bunch of self-righteous pricks humiliating each other, it's not like they're actually tearing down all of society.
Brandon Wood
Brian admits to his family that he made a mistake, and would have properly apologized had the mob been willing to listen
Daniel Robinson
Ethnicity can also refer to a culture that not necessarily related to genetic differences, but to even acknowledge there are different races should make you a racist. Doesn't matter if the implication was positive or negative.
People have been abusing it as umbrella term for everyone they don't like.
Kevin Campbell
I believe he tried to copy a scene that chris and megan did at school, and got his ass kicked immediately.
Chase Young
>The problem isn't the joke, although if you say something racist that's not even funny you just look like a faggot, the problem is the response. Brian doesn't even seem to comprehend what the people are upset about like he's never anything wrong. If you make a mistake, you should own up to it. If you show up to someone's house over an internet joke; you're in the wrong, not the guy who made the tasteless joke.
Again, the problem isn't the fact you 'called them out', the problem has and always will be the disproportionate response. The response and cancel culture in general is a cringe shitshow where people gaslight themselves into believing that mob mentality works and that escalation fixes every problem. It doesn't. You just destroy innocent people when you're wrong, see: Keanu Reeves. And no shitting your pants isn't "calling anyone out", it's just you making a fool of yourself over the internet equivalent of littering. You're just creating your own worst enemy when you do so because these people notice how you freak the fuck out and then exploit your overemotional response to garner support for their stupid political campaigns. It's like you want to create more Trumps.
Thomas Brown
>Yeah they were. Do you honestly believe people getting offended is a new development? That's literally what happened with Middle America. Plenty of people who would throw around offensive jokes turned extremely uptight. This was especially easy to see on college campuses. Or look at Something Awful. They were the edgy as fuck "cool kids of the internet," then turned into holier-than-thou prudes who got offended at everything.
>people have accepted each other more and a lot more demographics don't hide in the shadows Acceptance does not mean getting offended as loudly as possible.
This is why you see plenty of trans and gay people rolling their eyes at PC and Cancel culture.
Daniel Nelson
>8 Billion people on the planet >Try to make a single statement on the internet someone somewhere doesn't see as 'wrong' >goodluck
Luis Murphy
>How does anyone else suffer when lefties crash and burn? Because you still post on the places that they post, too. Twitter becoming a totalitarian shithole where you can't even say "Retard" didn't happen overnight. It happened because of a series of disproportionate responses that were slowly ramped up as another person, somewhere, got mobbed and the rules were made stricter to curb "abuse". This sliding scale of what counts as "abuse" happens every time a new internet outrage mob forms, and no one wins when they win. At the end of the day, the internet is shittier and some literally who is out of a job.
