And I have a friend who would love to see the whole Pyrrha's soul continues to live on in Cinder. I still think it's a potential, but I think he would prefer they already bring it up if they were gonna do it. Which is fair.

Give Cinder some goddamn backstory. At least *hint* at her motivations. So far all we know about her working for the angriest ex wife in fiction is "because powah."

Rewrite Adam and Faunas discrimination entirely. At least show it as being a consistent and pervasive problem. Adam needs an entire rework. The way he was treated massively irked me because he could have been a cool foil to Blake but that was sidelined for "lel muh edgy abusive ex boyfriend", completely forgetting about every other aspect of his character.

Lastly, I never woulda killed off Roman.

Yang has fire when she's "too hot", ice powers when she's "too cold" and dual wielding Fire and Ice when she's "just right".

For me the story and the characters are good for the most part.

But I think the anti-pantyshot stance is just tacky. If you're wearing skirts and flipping around that much its only natural your underwear is gonna show.

Other than that, some occasional fanservice wouldn't hurt either.

Okay...there's ONE thing I would've changed storywise. I kinda wish that Cinder had actually been killed by Raven Branwen for real. That would've been a nice twist in the story in that she died not even being able to fight Ruby.

One thing I've learned is that RWBY is what I call a "Long Storyline". You'll get Cinder's motivation eventually. But don't be surprised if it turns out she's simply a big bad bitch.

Well, the biggest problem is the system that the show was born into. RWBY is a product first and a piece of art second. You can't improve RWBY until that changes. The second biggest problem is that RWBY, the product, was sold on the hype of its fights. So, you'd either have to re-contextualise RWBY, saving yourself from the literal headache that is producing a long running show, on a budget, with multiple fights per season, release episodes at a slower pace or scale back the length of seasons and withdraw to episodes that were season one's length. The third biggest problem is the world of RWBY. It's a grimdark world, where the odds are constantly stacked against our characters. Unfortunately, the show is often bright and cheerful and was originally marketed as a kid's show. So, you either have to have the writing match the setting or have the setting match the writing. No more half-measures.
After solving those problems, you can then actually choose a team of people to lead the show. But the show won't ever improve until those problems are sorted. Doesn't matter if you hand it off to Japan or imagine yourself into a scenario where you are a multi-millionaire. You have to move RWBY away from being a product into being a work of art, you have to find a way to deal with the expectation of action and you have to have the setting and the writing match.
In my opinion, RWBY should be scaled back entirely and made into a series of short five-ten minute episodes that release once per month with bare minimum plot outside of a group of girls travelling remnant and fighting monsters.

To be honest, I would consider RWBY volume 1-3 to be fine by themselves. They aren’t spectacular or noteworthy they’re simply fun to watch mainly due to the fight scenes and the antics, but the series started to go downhill by the start of Vol. 4 and onward.

Though if I were to fix RWBY then I would reboot it entirely while keeping resemblance to the series because the series at this point it’s just bad.

Reboot and keep the cast at Beacon Academy. Cut out all the goddess and magic crap. Keep the tone upbeat like season one was. Force whoever is responsible for world-building to focus on fleshing out stuff immediately surrounding the characters like, you know, dust, that whole not magic powder that was never explained satisfactorily. Lastly, but most importantly, merge the show with RWBY Chibi by inter-splicing the cute skits they do into the main narrative.

That last point is the most important because I'm convinced RT is only good at writing short gag comedy sketches strung together along an aimless plot. That's their element. That genius was how they earned their fucking company. They have nothing meaningful or interesting to say when it comes to serious shit.

The unfortunate problem with your last point is that Roosterteeth is a subsidiary. The parent company has already made changes to the people involved from the start and will continue to keep making changes. Companies, such as Rooster Teeth, are husks that are being played like a marionette.
As a side note, I have a feeling that being a subsidiary company is part of the reason why Rooster Teeth keeps having controversies.

Keep the show going just to fund Chibi more. I can't believe the spinoff has a quality that just starts off consistently good and NEVER dips from there.

It seems like they're doing a better job with V6 and V7, not at all like the garbage dumps that were 4 and 5. But they will never be able to reach the actual quality 3 had.

Unironically, everything from Yang punching Mercury's leg to the rest of V3 is pure kino.

Start over and reboot with these changes:
>Having aura, semblances, dust, magic, ect all working on different poorly defined rules interacting with each other is confusing. Plan out how the magic system works in advance and keep it consistent.
>Same with individual powerlevels, the writers at least should know who is stronger than who. Maybe a mechanic to show the audience who is winning, like aura colors shifting through the rainbow from violet to red based on how depleted it is.

Here’s a list of things that I would change:

Make the Hunters and Hunteress less OP.

Make the Villains interesting and explore their motivations to explain why they do what they do to make them somewhat relatable.

No ship baiting.

Make the Grimm terrifying something akin to demons and Monster from Bezerk. An unstoppable hordes that’ll rip humans and Faunus to shreds.

Abandon the whole Faunus discrimination aspect of the show because it doesn’t really go anywhere. To add to this make the White Fang a rebellion against the Five Kingdom due to their authoritarian rule which they’ll be labeled as terrorists.

I agree with this user especially with the last point of making Ruby disillusioned with the hunteress life due to being inspired by her Mother and her will to protect other. It’ll be interesting to see Ruby learn her Mother wasn’t a Great Hunteress others make her out to be.

Have Cinder be portrayed as a friend to Ruby. Preferably the first person she meets when she arrives at Beacon Academy. Then along the way we get a glimpse of their philosophical differences up until Cinder betrays her best friend and reveal her allegiances to Salem.

Have Yang be jealous of Ruby and be a rival.

Honestly, I'm fine with a lot of stuff like the Maidens & Shit, I just think they need some minor rewriting so they existed from the start of the series & not just some sudden idea Monty came up with and didn't tell the entire team about for a while.

Same with a lot of other stuff about RWBY, what's there is perfectly fine, you just gotta give it all a second draft, expand on some aspects like Ruby being a Gun Nut or RWBY & JNPR

Also, the idea of Ruby getting disillusioned of the Huntress life & falling into personal issues from Beacons Fall onwards has always been my HC so its Kino to me. She realizes shes way in over her head, but now she's got no choice but to cling to everything she's learnt from people in her life like Qrow, Taiyang, and the teachings Ozpin imparted on her at Beacon about being a leader to desperately try & keep things going, it flourishes into an obsession to maintain hope amongst Remnant that spurs her to lie to Ironwood in V7.

She becomes just like those she admires, Qrow, Summer, Taiyang, except in the worst ways possible.

Ah, good thing you brought that up since the main inspiration behind Ruby and Cinders Friendship idea was derived from Xaviers and Charles friendship.

Interesting addition to Ruby’s deterioration psyche, it would make sense for her age to be traumatized or have a moment where she’s overwhelmed mentally from the cold reality of being a hunteress.

Also the point about focusing on other characters from both team RWBY and JNPR would improve the series. One of the things I liked about Vol. 4 was that it focused on other characters other than Ruby in different locations dealing with their personal problems. You have Blake at Menagerie, Weiss at Atlas and Yang at Patch.

You could point out that each adventure were pointless or disappointing, which I get the writers could’ve done it a lot better. But if RWBY were to be rebooted then you could flesh out the characters like Jaune who is basically just the comedic relief nowadays and expand on Ren and Nora’s relationship along with Pyrrha’s mental stress of dealing with fame and the high expectations from her family.

Give it to people who can actually animate, or actually write, or at the very least pick a better leading cast.

Yeah, I'd just love it if a RWBY Reboot just had a few episodes dedicated to other characters throughout its Volumes.
