Would you have watched it?
Sure, why not? Looks like it could’ve been fun.
I guess Netflix DOESN’T greenlight everything at their door.
Why is it a fucking black berry!?!
seemed like another pandering show that would've become dated within a year
oh god this skeleton character is awful. looks like an deltarune fan character.
>pandering
How so?
Ehh. The premise is mildly interesting, but it would need other, strong elements to support it. But the character designs are weak and generic (the protags even look like K.O. and a genderbent Craig), the characters don't seem to be anything special, and the plots listed are so fucking cliche and boring.
The biggest tragedy would be losing out on porn of this mac daddy.
KO is that you?
You think that could be a reason why every network rejected the pitch?
I feel like they would'v gotten tom kenny to voice this character with his heffer voice
That plus the show being centered around a cell phone which would "date" the show. Apparently networks were really hung up about the cell phone more than anything.
>Najja Porter
Nice. Too bad the premise could’ve been dated pretty quickly.
should have made it about VR and called it something dumb like cyberghosts and had them hunt ghosts that got stuck inside the internet
i think the replacements was about a phone
i think it was the idea of kids running around on their phones 24/7 that turned them off
Wtf we have cartoons with twerking and fortnite dancing and cell phones are what they’re worried about?
sounds cute
That's a really cool idea, though I think Glitch Techs is more or less that.
>Jordan even keeps a journal to track the effects of each app produced by Kasey's phone.
On the bright side, we won't have to deal with yet another stampede of idiots calling the show a "Gravity Falls ripoff" just because it uses the decades-old "Monster of the Week" journal trope.
waifus in the brute
>the character designs are weak and generic (the protags even look like K.O. and a genderbent Craig)
i came into the thread to say that
>five fingers
Neat!
>the Amity Blight of the show is literally named "Basic"
Huh.
>genderbent Craig
I know yellow looks real good on dark skin, but it doesn't help that Jordan has a near identical color palette to Craig Williams. Probably wasn't such a good idea to be pitching that design while Craig of the Creek is still on the air.
Just my two cents.
Also K.O. The artist wants her concept to be unique and diverse, in her own words, yet she fails at this because the resemblance to other known cartoon characters. Maybe with a slight shift in the style, she could have distanced her show from OKKO, SU, CotC.
didn't horse show have a prominent journal element
to be fair, a decent amount of pitch bibles don't have finalised character designs, gravity fall's didn't. at least i can hope that is the justification for
What did Gravity Falls's pitch bible look like?
grunkle looked a lot more like a muppet. even the pilot doesn't really look like what they eventually made into the true first episode.
here's the picture they used to cast him
I feel like Joe Pitt doesn't get enough recognition for his contributions to the show. He developed and enhanced the look of the characters based off those rough (albeit still appealing) pilot designs, and he even went on to board and direct on later episodes.
Seems like a lot of people forget about him and Ian Worrel simply because they haven't gone on to land their own shows yet (like Matt Braly and Dana Terrace).
It still amazes me how Alex Hirsch--a twenty-something literal who--managed to completely redefine Disney TVA's future output, even going as far as to outshine their previous cash cow: Phineas and Ferb. Dan & Swampy's second show couldn't even get off the ground despite using a more serialized format that Gravity Falls had proven was financially successful.
Now we have Amphibia, Big City Greens, the DuckTales reboot, The Owl House, and even Molly McGee, all of which probably wouldn't have gotten the go-ahead or turned out they way they have without GF's surprisingly positive performance. Hirsch somehow managed to convince Disney to bring back 22-minute episodes, too.
Love him or hate him, the dude's had a pretty massive influence in his field.
I pretty much agree with all your points, especially on the r34 we'll be missing out on. I would've loved some Mrs. Ramirez lewds.
>App-cidental
what a terrible fucking title
Okay, wise guy. Let's see you come up with a better one.
Chill, user. The title is serviceable, especially when you see how it ties in to each episode title.
It's possible that Glitch Techs's production made it even harder for Sam and Shakira's pitch to land anywhere. Oh, well. I don't really feel like we missed out on much.
>The leader of the pirates, BOOTLEG
Yeahhh... There was no way this was getting picked up
HERE COME THE GLITCH TECHS, THEY KNOW WHAT TO DO
go figure
>losing out on porn of this mac daddy
Shit, this is something I'll regret.
?
>filename
Same.
Mabel should have kept the hair over one eye look. It'd keep that dumb illuminati humor too.
Having one eye always covered definitely would've been an interesting take, but what we ended up with still works really well. I've always liked that stylistic choice of having her left eye overlap her hair. Dipper and Mabel went through a lot of neat design explorations, but their final looks are just so great that I can't even really complain.
looks cute
is there porn?
Nah. I Prefer Glitch Techs getting more episodes in its place. And Glitch Techs should have been made purely by Netflix, not sold to them by Nick. Netflix at least treats most of its shows right.
The title for the show in question is dumb and the show just feels like another Gay Space Rocks fiasco waiting to happen, except with even more dated references and SJWBS to further drag it down.
I know DAMN WELL you’re not referring to the two main leads, r-right??
>Mayumi Kubota
Wait, she has a first name??
I wonder if Basik changed her wardrobe after her friend got "stolen" because she doesn't appear friendly even without the frown
Yup. The mom is named after Mayumi Nose, one of the lead character designers who helped refine and whittle down Miko to the fun design we know and love today.
You sure it’s not just the crossed arms and the scowl that make her seem unfriendly? Basik’s wardrobe looks like that of any typical 11-year-old girl, bright colors and all.
I want to see her business dad keep the black guy as a sidepiece for business trips, while the mom takes out her sexual frustrations with the Asian guy.
There’s nothing stopping you from requesting art of these guys in the appropriate draw threads.
>Jordan has a near identical color palette to Craig Williams
It’s especially weird that Shakira thought she could get away with this considering she actually worked on a few Craig of the Creek episodes. She should’ve known how high of a risk this would be when trying to sell her pitch.
Miko is cute! CUTE!
But not as cute as High Five
Here’s the superior Fives.
I love Jeff Rosenstock
Do we know where they pitched it to?
I kind of like how much more sleezy Grunkle Stan is in the original pitch documents and designs for the show. He almost looks like a villlain here. Though there's no way the Stan we see in the final product is anywhere near 80.
The grunkles are definitely in their 60s or so.
