I expect MCU Namor to be exactly like this

He's gotta have a joke ready afterwards. Something like 'I'll be like a fish out of water...but in water!' and then he'll proceed to eat a donut because just like US!

I'm impressed by how faithful Everett was here to the original 1939 story. Whole chunks of dialogue are repeated or only slightly updated.

Holy shit, America is so good at war that a single research vessel can defeat an entire invading army without even knowing there’s a war going on

>many light years away
>earth still that big
>namor seeing things in real time instead of with many years delay due to speed of light

I thank you for introducing me to the concept of chaotic stupid

That was the 1950's origin when they revived the comic again (briefly).
This is the origin recap from the final issue of Sub-Mariner in 1949

He did both, so it's not that strange. He always had rather strong continuity in his own Namor strips, most of them end up dovetailing into the next issue. Which was virtually unheard of at Marvel at the time.

And then that was it, until the brief revival in the 1950's, which ended and then his revival in Fantastic Four in the 60's.

Fascinating. I've always been curious to see the post-war but pre-50s (I have all of the 50s stories in Atlas Era Heroes volumes) Namor. Pretty crazy, and there are some interesting ideas that were later ignored (McKenzie being alive). I may actually double-dip and get that upcoming omnibus when the plague clears up. Thanks user.
