I really liked this part of secret empire
I really liked this part of secret empire
This was the ONLY good part of Secret Empire.
God Bless Hanktron.
He should have just killed Tony there. Everything Pym said was correct.
I mean literally Pym has done more good for everyone and he's just remember for hitting probably the most selfish bitch to ever exist.
Jeez coming in hot with the Wasp hate there.
I agree people shouldn't focus on the slap so much but no need to focus your rage of Jan. I mean if anything you should just point out the fact that both Peter Parker and Reed Richards have both canonically smacked their wives around and nobody gives them shit for it.
>be a killbot that would commit genocide on a universal scale
>still referenced to as a wife beater
That's the point, it's being semi-meta on purpose. People are so fucking stuck on one instance of Hank doing something shitty yet relatively insignificant in the grand scheme of things a long time ago, something he's tried his hardest to make up for, and all the worse shit they did over the years, especially Stark.
>and gloss over all the worse shit they did over the years, especially Stark.
She’s the one who took advantage of his instability to marry him
Technically that's not Tony but a copy of him.
If you actually read the comic it's from, Janet was a control freak constantly pushing Pym to do more as an Avenger while berating him.
She was literally abusing Hank so hard he had a fucking breakdown.
I did as well
Jarvistron looks kinda depressed there. Almost like he can see how badly this is going to turn out.
It's a near-perfect "let's sit down and talk about this." Hanktron flipping out didn't invalidate all the stuff he said. Two people disagreeing doesn't mean it has to result in fighting.
Scott is a good fren
it was hilarious. Pymtrom being transparently evil but not actually hatching any schemes and just taking a backseat to the chaos worked amazingly and I'd have been pretty happy if that was left as his status quo: crazy uncle pymtron who lives alone far away from everyone that people really dislike dealing with because its impossible to tell how he'll react like a cybernetic baba yaga
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Janet was taking advantage of a mentally unstable person.
They didnt nothing wrong tho
>Canonically
Nope
There should be more of that in general. Powerful beings who are just kind of there and mostly don't want to be bothered, or who are so deranged by what they are that poking them is just a bad idea. Not good or evil, just there and best left un-fucked with.
Come to think of it, best left alone was either the origin of the M.O of half the Marvel comics. Man-Wolf. Man-Thing. Ghost Rider. The other half were the intentional heroes like Iron Man. To think that they used to have a good model going just based around "You done screwed up now, stupid." before the diversity era.
>Still waiting for the reunion.
Come on Marvel, what are you waiting? Nadia is the only one that could save Hank!
Where do I start to read to follow how Hank became Hanktron and then his following exploits?
if we gonna give crap about Pym slapping his nagging bitch of a wife once maybe we could remember Iron Man killed that Yellow Jacket girl once
it would also let them play up the "god of robotics" angle a bit more, where if you seek him out to deal with a robot-related problem you have, sure he'll be able to resolve it, but there's the real risk of him monkey pawing you to teach you a lesson, just for kicks, or to make sure people don't get too used to him helping to the point where they treat him like mere tech support to call up for any old problem
start with Rage of Ultron
Reminder the real Hank had his soul devoured in the soul gem as witnessed by Gamora while having a fantasy about everyone loving and respecting him after he saved the day.
Hell be fine
Also, Reed slapped the shit out of Sue and she absolutely deserved (and continues to deserve) it. And, Hell, remember that time Peter almost turned MJ's head around with that one smack that always gets posted here?
Post it. I've never seen that before.
It was during the clone saga, when Peter believed he was the clone. Purportedly, the script meant for it to be less of a smack and more Peter shrugging her off without accounting for his superstrength, but the art ended up making it look a lot worse.
Why does it seem everyone is ignoring the fact that Tony is a hologram?
It's like how you shouldn't bring up your weird aunt's lazy eye.
they think he's better as a hologram than a real person
Harder to get into alcohol or sex scandals, if nothing else.
meatspace reason is that the script was written before Tony got put out of commission by Bendis
in-universe reason is that the only difference between a hologram piloting an empty suit of armor that wrote a virus for itself to get drunk on, and the real tony stark, is the hologram can't commit adultery
And she was pregnant!
Because the comic was originally written with living Tony in mind until Bendis had to come in and throw him into a coma at the last minute. By that point, enough art had been done and enough of the comic written that they just slapped some blue coloring and changed a few words around then called it a day.
...wait a hot minute. Ultron DID build a city and that was never dealt with. Did they just ignore that?
no, no, user, that's definitely the real tony stark, flesh and blood and all. What are you talking about? tony's always had blue skin
Petes has been struck from canon I think and didn’t reed only hit sue when she was malice?
Wrong, it was all great except for the end.
>He actually likes the up it's own ass "teenager that thinks he's deep" pretentious narration boxes
Did you even read SE? In the future keep your shit opinion to yourself and just keep reading Batman '66 comics.
Based Ants
t. retard
No, your thinking of his other, other, other long-lost brother, Thrawny Stark.
Way to blame the victim here. Hank's not perfect and def deserves to get shit for what he did, but god damn having Janet mentally fuck with him on a daily basis could cause even the best of us to crack. She treated him like a fucking project. A prop for her ideal life. And eventually he broke. Dude should have ditched that bitch day one and got himself a counselor.
Jan fucked with his head in a big way, the slap was deserved
Context? How did she manipulate him, I never actually read the series.
yesssss Hank get they ass
Dude clearly suffered from anxiety disorders rooted in feelings of inferiority and bipolar mood swings that could make him potentially out of control. Jan knew this and constantly pushed him to be more and more like an Avenger and to take charge without considering this is a fragile man. He then had a full on dissociative break and adopted a new identity (Yellowjacket) and Jan seemed over the fucking moon (he stopped seeing himself as Hank PYm during this time -- indicating he NEEDED to get help and not thrown back into the fray). And while he was clearly in this manic state she took advantage and locked his ass down via marriage. And then with continued pressuring Hank finally reached a point where he thought his only sense of self worth could be maintained was by creating a villain for the Avengers to fight and then swooping in to save the day. In his eyes, it was the only way to move forward, he was destroyed mentally and his judgement was all over the fucking place...and then he hit Janet. DUde's not a saint, but he was in dire need of help and instead of seeking assistance for her husband, her friend, she continued pushing and pushing until he was a danger to himself and everyone around him. Mental illness is no fucking joke and the fact he was severely undermedicated during this time didn't help matters.
