She probably is going to be in the finale because the leaker said all the gems join together to hug him (stupid, I know), so it's not like she won't have anything to do, but I don't see her being a major player. And if that's true then it takes a lot away from Steven killing her if she can just be discarded like that.
Because that is the absolute worst thing Steven has ever done in his entire life, and just looking over it or treating it the same way as Steven crashing Gregs van or shouting at other gems would be awful.

Yeah, that was dumb. It's like they completely forgot about the Diamonds until the last second, went to do a quick episode about them, and then comes back to the plot. Its an episode that should have been made before the shattering and is worse because it comes later.

He is on friendlier terms with them than with Jasper, and even so, it doesn't change the fact that it was just made to fill the checklist of checking up on old characters. Its the first part of the four-part finale, and it's not a good start because it derails from the main plot. Steven went from murdering a gem to a visit with the Diamonds (song included) for 11 minutes

That would be awful though because going from savage to hippie in 1 episode is not believable or satisfying. I could maybe tolerate it if we see her try too hard to be "peaceful" and it being a toxic behavior, but if it's meant to be her happy ending I would be severely let down.

Steven wants nothing to do with his Diamond heritage. Jasper pledging herself to him as her Diamond was not going to turn out any other way than rejection. Plus he hates how the gems fetishise superior strength. I hope to god there's a resolution to this, but it kinda needs to be open-ended for it to be satisfying. Jasper and Steven are alike in that it's gonna take more than 33 minutes for them to get over their similar pasts. They should leave Beach City together at the end.

When you put a character through that much the audience starts becoming desensitized to it. Same with Steven becoming an over the top edgelord, it's just not believable. The writers don't know how to do things in moderation.

It doesn't help that she's the ONLY villain who gets comeuppance for her actions, and she's far from the vilest character in the show. Everyone else gets a free pass when she has to suffer for her actions, so it's unfair and frustrating.

She's hardly even a "villain". She was only an antagonist based on a misunderstanding. If Pink hadn't lied to her she would have been a crystal gem from the start.

More loyal than Pearl, and stronger than Garnet. I doubt Jasper would have handled Pink's death, though. I think she would hate Steven more than Pearl did.

Maybe at first, but l think she would come around eventually, maybe while keeping some secret lingering resentment towards him like Pearl did towards Greg. But based on Fragments I think Jasper could be a decent parental figure, Steven grew up without anyone there to teach him discipline and Jasper would have given him that. She could have taught him how to fight and use his powers faster too.
