Another One Bites the Dust

Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust, yeah
Hey, I'm gonna get you too

bout damn time

You are smart enough to know that it's because of the pandemic going on. They aren't closed forever.

I legitimately question if they are smart enough.

You know how trolls are they love any bad news. Just so they can cheer saying how they always knew they would fail.

But the shops that order there comics will be gone.

Yup that's a huge down side. But its not like most of them would be open. Majority of them have already closed because of the virus.

They aren't actually closing. They are just not doing anything for this month,

is there something good in idw or nothing of value was lost?

Attached: 1569970705834.jpg (1044x1000, 134.45K)

Ghostbusters was generally good
Larry Hama's GI Joe is still pretty good

TFW that fucking sonic comic arc never finishes

TMNT

Transformers Galaxies is okay.

They might as well close for good, they are going to be bankrupt in the next 2 years anyway.

It's really the end isn't it?

>They aren't closed forever.
Heh...Yeah

Only thing good about TMNT is the crossovers with DC or Power Rangers. Other than that, TMNT is just furry/scaly porn for degenerates.

Are those tears of joy?

They're in the hole in debt. This will wipe them out.

Death of cape comics when?

I wanted to see how their Stretch Armstrong mini was going to go, but they cancelled it halfway through.

They also botched the release of their Big Hero 6 tie-in to the point where I lost interest. They literally only released one issue.

So, no.

I hope Stan doesn't get hurt by this

I always hoped comics could recover. Even when I saw the New Warriors I hoped that it was just a stunt. Then I saw children of the Atom and I felt crushed. That's western comics now and that's what they will be when they die.

How long has that arc even been going?

Italy has no plans to stop comics and stuff like Topolino is still on its frequent schedule
Really what's the excuse here

That's what you get for making the Transformers gay, you faggots!

>I legitimately question if they are smart enough.
Seconded.

oh no! two comics you wouldn't buy anyways! Why get mad about comics that aren't ment for you in the first place? Just read what you want.

It would be nice if it was just two comics

you can always buy your comics from Kickstarter.

All their employees are contractors this costs them $0 and considering they'll be getting government cheese on the backend this whole thing will net them millions of dollars.

Comics are sold at convenience stores and supermarket magazine racks in Italy. Which can fly under the radar of essential services.

American comics are literally only sold at niche hobby stores. Which can not.

They were born of the Great Depression and survived WW2 and even the communist hunts of McCarthy. Nothing will ever stop capeshit.

People order their comics? I just assumed it was all some sort of crazy tax write off

I'm getting increasingly aroused/

This.

What the flying fuck?

Rom returning to Marvel when?

Attached: ROM.png (1024x1876, 1.07M)

They should have appreciated him and bought him off Parker Bros in the 80s

Yeah, this is why I don't support woke culture. "Masculinity is toxic" is not what I subscribe to. Nothing wrong in being a stoic rock to make people around you feel safe. It is when you assert and impose yourself against someone that So I never appreciate the regressive attitude progressives have in destroying something that has worked sense the beginning of time.

>It is when you assert and impose yourself against someone that
it becomes a problem.*

The majority of the Jem fanbase is middle-aged gay guys and Kimber/Stormer is the major ship of the franchise. There were problems with the Jem comic, but making it really gay wasn't one of them.

Hope is like your car keys and shit

>The comicbook industry is doing fine
are the shills still trying to pretend that this woke shit finally put an end to the industry

Could be permanently. My mom's company had to liquidate the branch that she works at. She was close to retirement so it was annoying but she'll live.

the worst part is they still won't digitally translate the European comics I want to read

the amount of cope

And the Artist Editions are fucked too, I guess ;_;

>indies and non-capeshit disappears forever from the market
>marvel and dc will endure due to the corporate daddies bailing them out

AT&T already want to pull the plug

>TMNT is just furry/scaly porn for degenerates
As opposed to furry/scaly porn for sophisticated people?

ITT: idiots who don't get that IDW Publishing, while in red, is only a small (but big in tax refunds) part of a bigger company that isn't doing worse than most.

But where will I get my obnoxious race swapped, healthy-at-any size, LGBT friendly, and vitiglio ridden remakes of once beloved characters now? Oh, right, Marvel has that covered, now. Carry on.

But how long until the pandemic is over?

they're just robots you retard

IDW was on the brink of death before the pandemic, they're dead.

If California and NY stays on lock down for another month or more then you can kiss a few struggling publishers goodbye because they will lose the biggest comic shops in the country.

Something like 25 (or so) comic shops are responsible for almost 60% of comic book orders from Diamond. The other 1200 shops buy the other 40%. I've got a friend from Southern California who owns one of those 25 (or so) shops. He's going to be discussing with his employees this week plans to shut down. This was the last nail in his shops coffin. (No I won't name it until he's told his employees. They don't need to find out by some asshole user like me.) He's was talking to other big shops about unloading some stock hoping to get rid of a lot at once. Three other big shops are thinking about dropping new comics entirely when/of they can open. It's not worth the hassle any more. Many aren't even sure if they will have an economy strong enough to support games and Funko shit of this last too long.

This has been a final nail for many and a wake up call for others.

Donald sells better than seventeen Spider-Man comics a week.

Oh no, does it mean this fag will be out of work ? What a shame...

The stimulus bill? They blocked it because it didn't have enough pork. The new 1400 page bill doesn't offer small businesses the grants to keep their doors open.

IDW doesn't survive the California lock downs.

>"we should do something to keep the economy going"
>"give a little money to the peasants and no one else"
Nice.

IDW is idiots, these comic shops don't need to survive. Time to focus on digital marketing and make those sales be better than before and then try to salvage shops that were smart enough to survive this mess and build from there.

This is the perfect time restructure the industry in a more healthy way.

Sega should just open a publishing wing and continue the sonic comics from that. They seem to be fine with the new wave of characters and their normal consumers seem like the type to appreciate comics in general.

idw can burn and take its woke shit with it

Hahahahaha
Sorry user, everyone's going right back to Diamond.

I applied for a position once there and didn't get hired

>gender and women's studies
immediately devalued as a man and human of any worth

You are smart enough to know how economy works right?

>Sega should waste a fuckload of money on self-publishing instead of getting paid to let someone else do it.
I see you're a very smart business mogul, user.

Why though? There is no good reason to keep relying on only one comics distributor.

Do you have any industry connections at all?

It's cheap, and the people in charge of the publishing companies only focus on the short term.

It's how Viz snuck up on their asses.
