I'm not even one of the people making dozens of threads for the show/other shows. Simply stating a fact. When the mods stomp out a general thread for a show or franchise, that results in multiple(in this case, over a dozen) threads that flood the catalog in its place.

I think the mods spend too much time moderating generals and not nearly enough time on specific people that directly affect threads.

Take /swco/ for example. When they banned it, it was when there were a ton of off-topic fetishspammers and people starting flamewars. Drowning out and discouraging any actual discussion from taking place about the recently-ended cartoon, the weekly comics, and occasionally non-Yas Forums-specific releases. Instead of banning the people responsible for flooding the threads, they just banned the general with the excuse that the cartoon had just ended.

I didn't even know phoneposting was a way of ban evading. Wouldn't the phone have the same IP as the PC because they have the same ISP or something?

The ban evasion is by taking your phone off of wifi so it's on data. Therefore you are now a different IP address which will shift since most phone data plans use dynamic IPs.

However, many of these dynamic IPs are ones that have already received temporary bans and permabans for a variety of reasons, so it's not a guaranteed way to evade.

That's a complete load of bullshit. Firstly, there are plenty of shows which draw just as much activity... Glitch Techs for instance its first week was by far the fastest moving thread and right now its without a doubt generating heaps and loads of original content: I never once saw it get more than two, usually one threads at a time.

And secondly, most of these new threads that SUsharts spam aren't unique ideas or really necessary to be threads, they're just basic questions or shitposts that can be made all the same in the most active SU thread without any real shift in audience... most of these spur of the moment threads never go beyond a baker's dozen in posts because they have no lasting substance to them and its usually the OP necrobumping the shit out of them and the several other similar threads they made. It's basically just attention whoring.

I really blame shows like Avatar/Adventure Time/Korra for starting this thread of hijacking the board whenever something happens no matter how minor. (and even then, Avatar only really did it during big happenings like the finale) but its been a constant complaint on this board for years and the mods are slow to react because they care more about board traffic for adblock-lacking tourists than they do the content and health of the board.

Anyway.. if you go through the desuarchives and search for deleted threads you'll see that the mods have been trying to combat the Spinelfag spam, but for the most part its a losing effort. Seems like the mods try to commit to doing something but just give up halfway because they lack the tools or manpower to really have any power.
